Cute, quaint ice cream shop with calming atmosphere in Downtown Plymouth. Staff were friendly and answered questions about the menu. The only downside was the pricing which I felt was on the higher end. $6 for what was called a "small" though the design on the cup implies it's a kid serving. While the design is cute, marketing may want to rethink that approach. I'm not sure if there is an actual kids serving offered. Sizes after small are "regular" and "large". The scoop size was appropriate for a "small" so the quantity given was satisfying. The price point wasn't a deciding factor in the final review as I recognize it also reflects both the area & market for ice cream shops but good to keep it mind. It may be more value for the dollar to get a regular size which seems closer to a double scoop portion. Ice cream was smooth and refreshing after being in the summer heat. Coffee drinkers will enjoy the coffee flavor!

    Inside, decorated for Halloween.

Came in for some dessert after dinner in town, and they have the best caramel ice cream! Also tried the fudge brownie, so good and creamy. Someone in my group had the coconut, that was the best coconut ice cream I've had. It had chocolate covered toasted coconut. Service was very good, the girl scooping our ice cream was very patient. Will definitely be back!

Kilwin's is the place to be for your sugary fixes. The Fudge, Dipped Strawberries, assortments of specialty chocolate, Ice cream, chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. I could also mention the caramel corn as well. I would've given them a 5 star but they're 2 portable freezers that hold the quarts of ice cream and cakes has been busted for the last 2 months and that has hurt my heart every time I go in. Like my sea salt caramel and mint chocolate chip on occasion. Looking forward to them getting new portable freezers. The staff is always amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. The staff is full of energy and I think it's because of the environment they work in. The parking situation is tricky but doable. parking on the side street next the Kilwin's and parking across the street at kellogg park. Kilwin's is well kept building and very clean. Most days you'll be able to watch them making the fudge or chocolates on the large granite stone in the window. Give them a try and enjoy the sugary goodness.

    Lots of chocolate treat options.

I went to Mackinac Island a few months ago and had a chance to eat lots of delicious fudge. Yesterday I was really craving fudge. Thankfully we had Kilwin's in Plymouth! This store didn't have as many options of fudge slices as on the island, but they dud carry the essential flavors. They also offered a buy 2 get 1 free deal for the fudge, which was awesome. I ended up getting 3 flavors: salted caramel, double dark, and maple walnut. I sampled the salted caramel and it was super duper heavenly. I wished they also had carried a white-chocolate flavor like vanilla or cookie and cream, cause I would definitely get one of those. And the service behind the counter was absolutely outstanding. The guy was ready to help me with my questions, providing fudge samples, and he showed me excellent customer service. I'd definitely go back to this store 100%.

Glass display windows filled with loads of tempting treats will leave you spoiled for choice! The interior vibe is polished with a historic nod, with classic tables by the window where you can enjoy your treats. The irresistible fudge is made on site, and was super creamy and just delicious... it was sooo smooth it almost reminded me of rich carmel, with out a touch of grit. I'd consider it on par with Mackinaw Island and Lake Geneva, WI. The premium ice cream proved to be an indulgence that hit all the right notes. Lots of flavors to choose from, and the quality is evident. You can sample the fudge and ice cream to pick your flavor first, too. Heavenly chocolate covered espresso beans sold by the pound won't disappoint, either. The service pbehind the counter was absolutely first rate, and so patient with my kids as they decided exactly what to splurge on with their gift cards. He truly couldn't have been nicer, and even helped up solve a marshmallow sucker issue at no fault of the store. There are some smaller foil wrapped candies for a little taste of something sweet, too. A lovely stop in downtown Plymouth. Stop here for delicious treats from a shop with a long heritage of making people smile!

Yes, a Kilwin"s fudge shop in Plymouth. So happy to see their building today on Saturday after braving the cold temperature of 28 degrees at the Plymouth Ice Festival. Before leaving I had to stop in here to buy some of their soft, rich and creamy slabs of flavored fudge. A sign posted on the window said "Special this weekend is Buy 2 Get 1 Free" YES ! Walking inside here was a wonderful aroma of popcorn, and fudge. A counted 4 female employees with Sweet smiles working very quickly serving chocolate craving customers. I ordered 2 peanut (1 for My Mom) :) and 1 salted caramel chocolate slab for $12.75. Great fair total price. Photos to be attached here as well before I slice my slabs of sweetness. **Adding here on Monday, January 14 that I sliced to sample the 2 fudge slabs I bought on Sunday. Salted caramel chocolate fudge = creamy and gooey, fudgy delicious. Peanut butter slab dry and crumbly but ok. Bummed on it ): I believe their slogan totally = Kilwin's "Sweet In Every Sense Since 1947" I feel EVERY big city name in Michigan should have a "Kilwin's" fudge shop, because they do make and sell fudge with, Quality, Flavor and Taste !

Dark chocolate pretzel is so delicious

A wonderful sweet store. Just standing outside you can see someone rolling and crafting fudge. It is truly an art. Inside are many chocolate desserts are inside from many types of fudge, chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, fruit and etc. There are truffles and candy. The pretzels are covered with white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Some with sprinkles and some with stripes. There is also hard scooped ice cream which originally drew us to the store as a friend's son wanted the ice cream. On the way back to my car, I picked up dark chocolate covered pretzels and regular chocolate fudge. What a delicious find. The store has a punch card for ice cream and caramel apples. If I lived closer, this store would be dangerous.

Some of the best hot chocolates I've ever had are from chocolate shops (makes sense) so I had high hopes. The price was quite reasonable I think for a premium hot chocolate, $4.99 for a dark hot chocolate with Mayan spice (cinnamon, cayenne, etc.) added. There was an option to add whipped cream and marshmallows but I opted out. The cocoa was excellent - delightfully chocolatey and definitely spicy - it definitely had a kick. I would order again in a heartbeat - maybe it's a good thing for my body that I don't live that close to Plymouth. They also have a nice array of chocolates, very similar to classic chocolate shops. I bought a couple of dark chocolate covered cherries and dark chocolate honeycomb chips for my mother and she loved them and she can normally be very picky about these type of chocolates. She said they were very fresh and the cherry flavor of the chocolate covered cherries was excellent. These were probably her favorite chocolates she's had in the last ten years or so. Alpine Chocolate Haus was definitely a winner and we'll be back whenever we're in Plymouth.

If you are looking to a quiet place to gab with your gal pals, this is the place! There was only ONE food item I tried that was worth consuming, except you can't really take it with you - the hot fudge on the ice cream! Please sell this in jars, the taste rivals Sanders! But, everything else I tried? Barely edible. Sampled 4 ice cream flavors , just because I was trying to find one that was palatable, settled on vanilla because I felt bad sampling more flavors...the ice cream is very poor quality. Being a Michigan company, I am surprised that they don't have Guernsey ice cream? That would be a welcome improvement for sure! Purchased 3-4 chocolates to go, I think one with cherries, another with maple, maybe a coconut, and a Buckeye. Let me preface this with the fact I love chocolate...after one bite of each, I threw them away. And the Buckeye was so revolting I automatically spit it out...what kind of peanut butter tastes like that?! I wish you were better, Alpine Chocolate Haus. :(

I've been to the big world famous places and had them from the source, not just in their U.S. expansion locations. Let me tell you this. The macaron at The Blu Kitchen, this tiny little place with barely any operating hours at all, from a quality of product perspective is making delicious little morsels that compare favorably with the world's best. Some of the flavors, I'm looking at you salted caramel, are even better than what I had abroad. Of course, there are others that fall short. Notably the ones with sprinkles. However, I am told by Adina they are big sellers with the local crowd. Mon dieu. Arrive early on Saturday for the best selection. Things will sell out. But this is the cost of great food. Comparing the macaron here to others available locally, these are better than that preciously cute store in downtown Ann Arbor. The flavors are true. The textures are perfect. And they far surpass that Detroit pastry chef guy who makes other great things but whose macaron leave me disheartened. Macaron are pretty pricey for a little cookie. But when they are good, they are worth every penny. Why? Because they encapsulate a pursuit of perfection. As a small bite, they need to pack a flavorful punch. That flavor comes from the center. But here's the trick, that center cannot overshadow the rest of the confection. It has to blend seamlessly into the textures of the crisp outer shell, which coalesces into a tender almond flour interior, and that dense creamy middle. At one of the famous places in Paris, the filling was just far too stiff and produced a jarring effect. This can happen on occasion to the best macaron bakers and Adina is no exception. But her pursuit of perfection and attention to detail in every element of production are extraordinary. This review has been a long time coming and serves as a reminder to me that I need to get back to Plymouth for another fix. It's been far too long, and I saw on the gram I just missed coconut caramel. Dang it. If you are a macaron fan, you owe it to yourself to get some of these in your mouth. You can thank me later. Just skip the ones with the sprinkles, and maybe if enough of us buy the better unadorned versions, Adina will stop pandering to the crowd and make the world class treats I know she can.
