Finally was able to try their vegan soft serve. Last time I went they were out of vanilla flavor, only chocolate was available and I'm not a chocolate ice cream fan (yeah, I know it sounds weird). I decided to go with one of the specials from their signs becuase my boyfriend niece said she had it before and it was good. I got the viral til tok flavor Dubai chocolate flavor; the have two option the parfait and the mud. My only complain is that my bf's niece and I got the same one. And they first made hers mud style which isn't a parfait looking so it wasn't as pretty. They tried to fix it but as the picture shows compares to the second picture it wasn't as appealing. They were both good, and the strawberry was fresh, just know it's costly and if you want to try it like i did becuase i seen it on tik tok then definitely try it. My bf's nephew got a strawberry cheesecake sundae speciality. That was worth the price, it had a lot of topping and it looked good. Aesthetically pleasing in the definition. While we no longer live in the Detroit area we still enjoy visiting Dairy-Go-Round when we visit. A traditional ice cream stand they still have the colorful stationary Merry-Go-Round horses for kids to enjoy. A great place for families to visit and enjoy delicious ice cream treats. Second time going to Dairy-Go-Round. Very nice ice cream place. They have so many ice cream choices. My husband liked how they list out options for peanut butter lovers or people who like chocolate. My absolute favorite, a must have ice cream treat, is the Banana Pudding waffle cone. It's the same as the banana foster (sliced bananas with Carmel drizzle on top of vanilla ice cream ) but also with crumbled vanilla wafer. The people working there were helpful trying to direct me to the type I was referring to. The merry go round horses at each pillar added to the cuteness of this ice cream place. As the first customers upon re-opening in quarantine, we were excited to be able to come back and enjoy one of our staple, classic Plymouth ice cream spots. I can't sing a high enough praise of this place. It's the only real option for dairy free customers, which has NEVER existed in the Plymouth area. They keep adapting their recipe to try and achieve the most creamy soft serve ice cream they can without dairy. I keep coming back to try each new flavor they roll out, it is seriously surprising how good the soft serve is. They also mix it in with a wide variety of items as well if you want a shake or mud (their version of a blizzard) I do worry sometimes that the order may get mixed up and have milk in it, as the servers don't write down the order and have to go off of memory. My fiancé got a plain vanilla cone, which he said didn't taste like much. It was lacking flavor and he said that Dairy Queen is much better! I got coffee mocha infused vanilla ice cream, dipped in chocolate, in a waffle cone. My ice cream, even though it had the "flavor infusion", barely tasted like anything! The reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the waffle cone was delicious and tasted like cinnamon, plus the staff were all very nice and friendly. I literally live 2 blocks from DGR but I fortunately don't go very often. I went recently and got the Reese's mud cup. It was worth every calorie. Update: went today on a slow Monday afternoon and everything went great! It seems they were just overwhelmed with customers when I went. Today I got a non dairy glacier, photos attached. It was blue raspberry flavor and delicious! My only con was that on the sign it said Glacier Burst was available in nondairy, but when I ordered it I was told it wasn't possible to burst nondairy ice cream My partner got a junior sized nondairy vanilla with sprinkles, it was some cute fall colored sprinkles! I hope next time I can get things like the Peanut Butter Buster Parfait made vegan, I would love that! May you can though, I haven't tried yet! ~~~~~ An important distinction here is that a "swirl" for vegans means vanilla and pineapple, which isn't a good combination in my opinion. My partner thought it meant chocolate and vanilla like everywhere else despite me telling him chocolate wasn't on the menu. He would've gone and had it corrected but we already went up twice for corrections with our two ice creams. They didn't put sprinkles on his and they made my pineapple only order a combination. Overall it was a bit disappointing as we had drove over 20 miles and a half hour out to get some just to be disappointed because it felt like we weren't being listened too. They had this caramel apple pie ice cream treat and it was divine. It tasted just like an apple pie, with the chunks of crust, apple and caramel. I'm also looking forward to bringing my son back there to ride on the horses.
