WARNING: DO NOT GO TO VU!!! If I could leave a lower rating, I would. Dr. Vu, you provided the worst experience I have had with a doctor. Your behavior was absolutely inexcusable. My attorney referred me to you, and you agreed to assess the condition of my hand and foot for a lawsuit against a company. It gave me hope after 3 years of the pandemic putting my justice on hold. As we began our appointment, I explained right away how severely I am affected by PTSD and dissociative disorder. You asked me how my hand got injured. I told you that my hand was run over by a truck. Your tone was snotty, and you mocked me saying, "So...what, you were just laying on a road..." That really hurt, but I kept my composure and explained that I was riding my bike and a truck cut me off and my hand and foot were run over (and almost my face). You looked at my twisted dominant hand saying Invalidating things like, "well, you can open a jar, right?" and,"You can still use it, right...?" This is when you saw the hurt and hopelessness in my eyes. You were looking right at my very expressive eyes as they welled up with tears. We sat face to face at a maximum 4 feet from each other, so don't say you didn't notice. You were persistent and cold. I wondered how I may have wronged you, to be treated like this by you. You continued to interrupt me when I spoke, rudely making up your own narratives instead of just listening to me. You asked me what I hoped to get out of this appointment. I answered that I was just there because my attorney had sent me to assess the condition of my hand and foot. I kept calm as you did not accept my answer, asking again. I told you I needed a moment. I had a mask on, so you could only see my eyes welling up with tears. I was trying so hard not to cry, but as your voice kept becoming more and more assertive and your volume got higher, I felt bullied. I was literally too choked up to answer and could not speak and tried to make hand gestures to ask for a moment. Instead of acknowledging the tears that were just about to spill out, or responding with any kindness, you yelled at me, "So... YOU'RE JUST NOT GOING TO GIVE ME AN ANSWER?!" I hope you remember badgering me until I broke down in tears. I forced out the words, "It's really hard to answer you when I'm so choked up because you are being so mean to me." How you could remain so cold at this point is incomprehensible. I am a kind person who rarely loses my cool, but I could take no more. Your cruelty triggered a PTSD episode so severe that I stood up, defensively yelling how absolutely inappropriate you were being and gathered my things up to leave. While I had my back turned to get my backpack, I heard you mutter "I'm sorry." but it was only words because when I turned around to look, you were void and it was completely apparent that you did not mean your apology. I left and saw your colleagues with their jaws dropped as I stopped to tell them all how completely inappropriate you were. As I left your office, I had a complete breakdown and called a friend who picked me up outside the office. She said I was in a fetal position on the cement, hiding behind my bike. You made a horribly traumatic situation even worse. My experience with you was awful and surreal. I have trouble comprehending why you were so disrespectful, mocking, cold, and mean to me. Kindness. It doesn't cost a thing. Please have compassion with your future patients. You never know what someone has been through. read more

Dr Kim-Chi Vu should not be working on people's hands! She was rushed and rude to me, and mean to her staff! She seemed to have no clue as to how to correctly repair my injuries. Her response to me about the poor finger alignment that she did was that I should just accept my disability. Fortunately, I was able to find a much more competent board certified hand surgeon (Vu is not Board Certified in Hand surgery). My new hand surgeon was able to repair the damage Dr. Vu did so that I can now type again for my job. Her communication skills were extremely poor. Due to her inability to understand my questions, I would have to rephrase my questions multiple times. I think her lack of understanding may have been a ruse to hide the fact that she did not have the medical knowledge to answer my questions. read more

I had some pain in my wrist and called Dr Vu who was referred to by Cedar Mill Providence. I made an appointment and told the receptionist it was for a cortisone shot. I also told the receptionist that I don't need prior authorization for a cortisone shot with my insurance and they should check on that. When I showed up for my appointment, Dr Vu insisted that I needed a pre authorization. I asked them why they hadn't checked with my insurance before my appointment for authorization and she gave me some nonsense reasoning. I told her that I had seen Dr Mah for my foot issues two weeks earlier and he injected a cortisone shot their office checked with my insurance for authorization and I didn't need one. Dr. Vu refused to give me the shot. The office called me a few weeks later to tell me that I didn't need authorization after all. I made an appointment to see her again. She injected a cortisone shot on the second visit. I received two bills from them months later. I wrote a letter to Dr Vu asking why I didn't get the cortisone shot in the first visit and I think they should waive the charges for one visit copay since they did not check with my insurance for authorization before my first appointment. Peter the office manager called me to tell me all the nonsense reasons why they had to get authorization. I truly believe that Dr Vu is after the money and has forgotten about the code of ethics and the Hippocratic oath that she took to take care of their patients. I have filed a complaint with my insurance United Health Care and will write a letter to the board of Medicine in Oregon in regards to this situation. This is the most unethical clinic that I visited in my life. Please do not waste your time and money to see this clinic. I should have looked at reviews for this clinic before ever making an appointment. I am looking into other avenues to stop this kind of practice from a dishonest clinic. read more

I had the EXTREME PLEASURE of having Dr Bi perform an emergency surgery on my hand. I was in my room after surgery and she came in and explained to me what she did. She never spoke to me as in I was stupid and was so kind. About a year later she performed Carol tunnel surgery on my hand, followed by the surgery on the other. 2 years later I smashed my hand and required yet another surgery and she fixed that one too. 3 f days later my 40 pound Bengal decided he DID NOT like the dressing on my hand and felt he needed to attack it to get it off his Hooman and damaged the stitches. I didn't think much of it and just redressed it. 2days after that the hand swelled up and was red and A pain I can't even describe. I called her office and spoke with her answering service. Within 15 minutes she called me and told me to come into the office immediately. It was the 4th of July BTW. She took 1 look at it and told me it was infected and she needed to open and clean it and determine the damage. So she numbed it up and opened it rite there. It looked and smelled horrid. She got it cleaned up and repaired the damage. She gave me antibiotics and pain meds. Do you know of ANY DR that will leave a family celebration to RUSH to their office and rescue a SERIOUSLY CLUMSY patient. IMO, that PROVES how much she RESPECTS and LOVES her Patients. I trust her so much I have send my LOVED ones to her and have recommended more of my friends than I can say. If I could give her 500 stars I would. She is a KIND, CARING, Dr that has a true concern about her Patients. I trust her more than I can say. She is a rare combination of, COMPETENCE, PROFESSIONAL, HONESTY, and flat out AWESOMENESS. I have NEVER had a bad experience with her and TRUST her enough that we had her do my husband's surgeries. Last year I had a medium size lump on my forehead AND a tumor in KY bicep. She removed both and is so talented that you can't even see the scar on my face. The tumor in my arm went down to the bone and she handled that like a BOSS. SERIOUSLY, if you need a surgery on your hand or faxe, there is nobody I could recommend more. I Just can't imagine allowing another Dr being better. I know she does plastic surgery, implants, and several other services. She is just AMAZING. I went to the "Vu Clinic" after breaking two bones in my hand. They were the clinic on call at Providence St Vincent. Even though they were on call, they originally couldn't get me in for over a week... Then they squeezed me in for 4 days out... Should have trusted my gut at that point and gone to another doctor. So my appointment comes up, and i arrive. first the normal paperwork... Then legal documents!!! Talking about mediation and the sort. They also had a page dedicated to online postings!!! To top it off they don't give a copy of these legal docs. When i said, i cant sign these without talking to my lawyer, they said she (Dr. Vu) won't see me unless I signed. I left. read more

I had a tummy tuck and liposuction from Dr. Kim-Chi Vu. Tummy Tuck was okay although she raised my hairline which I specifically asked her not to do. Liposuction was horrible. She took too much fat from the wrong area creating a dent below my butt cheek which in turn makes one side appear lower. She attempted twice to fix this problem and both times failed. I asked multiple times for my "before" photos so that I could show them to another doctor and her staff never sent them to me. They would only send the tummy tuck photos and the "after" photos of my back thigh. I will forever have an insanely high pubic hairline and a big dent in the back of my leg. I would not recommend this surgeon ....obviously. read more

I need medical care due to an employment injury. My employer's work comp insurance company directed me to see her for evaluation. I walked out of the evaluation with the impression she had determined the outcome prior to the appointment. Her report has conflicting statements. Her report is not factually accurate either. Now the needed medical care will continue to be delayed. Apparently this doctor was hired by the insurance company and performed as paid. I think her integrity is disappointing. read more

I have gone to Dr. Vu for liposuction and a tummy tuck. I could not be more happy with my results. She and her staff have been professional and compassoinate. They have been so accomodating with a difficult schedual that I had to work with. She is very quick getting back with any concerns even after hours on a week end after my surgery. I can not think of one bad thing to say about her or her staf and would reccomend her to anybody. read more

My hand met a table saw last month. I was lucky to have Dr. Vu in house at St. Vincent hospital. The staff in the ER was telling me she is the best and that I was lucky to be seeing her. Dr. Vu took time from her busy schedule to assess and stitch my mangled fingers while I was in the ER. Dr. Vu showed the utmost confidence in dealing with my injury. She was quick and stitched me up with perfection. I made a follow up appointment a few days later. The office and medical staff were very personable and professional. The check in process took no more than a minute. I was seen on time, not only this visit but all subsequent visits. I was referred to this clinic because Dr Vu was the on-call hand surgeon for Legacy Meridian Park Emergency. I was in the ER the night before for a broken and dislocated hand. I had a reduction and two sets of x-rays (before and after relocating the bones in my hand) at the ER. I was told there was at least one fracture and that I needed to go to Dr Vu the next day for a cast and a surgery review. Upon arriving at Dr Vu's clinic I was asked to fill out a bunch of what appeared to be standard paperwork, patient history, family history, medications, allergies etc. I was then required to sign an electronic screen stating that I had read and agreed to contract stipulations that I was given no copy of. I basically had no idea what I was signing; it was simply a blank screen. I was starting to form the opinion that this place is very serious about covering themselves legally from top to bottom. I also noticed that I was on camera while at the designated "signing area" at the front desk. You do not sign while in the waiting area where you fill out the paperwork, they have a special, on camera, area just for the signature. I've never seen anything like that before. Then I was put in the room and the assistant removed the temporary cast and bandaging I received at the ER. At this point my freshly broken hand was mobilized and began to ache severely right away. The assistant did not seem to have any medical training what so ever. She noticed the iodine stain and asked if the bones were actually sticking out through the skin the night before. I told her no, the iodine was used to sterilize the area for the numbing shots when the ER doctor reduced the bones back into place. I felt as though she was entirely incompetent and had no idea what type of injury she was dealing with even as she was looking right at it. I would think that there would be a chart, a file, a report, x-rays, some sort of information conveyed from the ER that would have been reviewed prior to "prepping" me for the doctor. Dr Vu then came in and put on a display of the absolute worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. She asked me if the ER had done a CT. I said no, but they did two sets of x-rays. She told me that the ER should have done a CT and that the Radiologist at the ER should have provided a report of their findings from both the x-rays and the CT. I asked Dr Vu if she could, being an expert, look at the x-rays and come up with any findings of her own. She said the x-rays were not detailed enough for her to determine anything and that she was sending me back to the hospital for a CT and that she would see me back in three weeks. I'm guessing that Dr Vu needed another office to do all the work and accept all the liabilty before she could decide how much she would profit from it. She then reused the ER's bandaging to wrap me back up. She applied the ace type bandage back over the temporary cast only she stretched it out and wrapped it at least twice as tight as it had been. She stretched out one of the two bandages so far that she didn't even need to use the second one. She handed the second bandage to me to keep as a backup. During the rebandaging procedure, she was literally bending and twisting my forearm and hand like it was a wrestling match. Without giving me any indication of where or how she needed me to move my arm she just impatiently forced my arm, using my broken hand for leverage, into the position she wanted to reapply the dirty used bandages. This "struggle" reminded me of getting a haircut from my aunt when I was four years old and not knowing which way to move my head to avoid getting my ears nipped. So off I went with no cast, no idea of the severity of my injury, dirty roughly reapplied bandages, a freshly reswelling and aching hand, and an appointment to return in three weeks. Of course I will not be keeping that appointment. There is one thing I'm pretty sure of though, somewhere within all those signatures they required me to make on camera, I signed away any right to sue that office for their total incompetence, or my pain and suffering incurred at their hands. They have obviously been down that road before. Dr Vu in my opinion is not a doctor; she is just a ruthless business woman with a license to practice medicine. read more

I interviewed 6 top local surgeons before finding the perfect one. Some of them were less experienced and couldn't seem to provide me with sound information about their practice and skill. Others, one other in particular resonates to tho day.....were extremely brash, pushy, cocky, and quite frankly disgusted me by trying to voice their opinion of 'larger is always hotter' when it came to the augmentation I was seeking. To change tone and get to the point... Dr. Vu as well as her entire staff, were naturally welcoming from day one. She not only took a very analytical approach during my consult by going above and beyond with clear concise information presented, but she was easy to talk to and very much a real person. Not some Dr. in a white jacket just looking for $. Once I signed on with her nothing changed. She and staff continued to provide exemplary service and communication, even post-op. She is the only surgeon I will go to for as long as she chooses to practice. Dr. Vu and her entire staff were so easy to work with that in my experience, they felt more like a group of acquaintance friends rather than the typical alternative. Most importantly, it's been 4 years since my augmentation and I still LOVE my decision! I got what I wanted (a slightly larger than before, young, perky, yet more natural look) and unless I inform people, no one can tell they're paid for! Win/win and 10 out of 10! read more

So I had hand surgery with Dr. Vu through a referral that I got from workers Comp. I still have a hard time gripping and grasping things and pain she told me that their is nothing I can do that the insurance company doesn't care and they tell me you have to be release to full duty even if you cant do it. Then says please come back and see me in 4 weeks. This Dr. does not care about people and their conditions. To tell me that the insurance company says that I will be release to full duty no mater what and that her hands are tied theirs nothing she can do is not right. Im sorry but this doctor lost her morals along the way somewhere. read more
