I've been coming to this office since I was a child, and I'm now 25. Unfortunately, since becoming an adult and handling my own dental care, my experiences here have gone downhill. I was scheduled to have crowns done, but when I arrived, I was told they had lost my paperwork and didn't know which teeth needed to be filled. Crazy of me to still go through with the service, right? After the appointment, I started having minor pain and bleeding in the same teeth they worked on. I called to schedule a follow-up and was told I could come in that Friday. They called and texted nonstop for me to confirm the appointment--just to later call me back saying the doctor would be performing a surgery and they didn't want me waiting long. So what was the point of scheduling me or making me confirm if the appointment wasn't valid? Now I'm being told the doctor won't have availability for another two weeks. It's frustrating and unprofessional. On top of that, while sitting in the office, you can clearly hear staff asking other patients to change their appointment times as well. Once they fix the issues they created in my mouth, I will not be returning to this practice. read more

Don't waste your time going here because this office will surely waste it for you. Both front and back office staff is extremely incompetent, completely indicative of management. I cannot type enough to express my level of disappointment and frustration but just know, I will never step foot in that office again. Completely Disgraceful. read more

This dentistry has the worst dentist and dental hygienist ever! I went to get a filling, the dentist and his assistant rushed trying to finish my filling so the assistant could go assist another patient. They rushed through filling it and never tested to see if the bite was right (of course, the bite wasn't right). My tooth hurt more after the filling than it did before I got the filling. I had to go back in for a second appointment and the dentist just shaved the tooth down and had me on my way. Now I can't chew on one side of my mouth. My tooth constantly hurts and now I grind my teeth at night because it hurts so much! The dental hygienist that was supposed to clean my teeth cut my gums up so much during the cleaning my gums were swollen for two days. She didn't even clean all my teeth. She cleaned my four front top and bottom teeth and that was all. She was rushing to another patient and didn't clean the rest of my teeth. This is the WORST dentistry I've ever been to! read more

I've been coming to JD Murray and associates since I was in elementary school! I will NEVER change my dentist office if I can help it. It is black owned and the staff is like family!! First name basis!! Check in is easy, and they have a nice sitting area with a tv and magazines, a fish tank too for a little extra razzle dazzle. Everyone has ALWAYS been nice and prompt! Mrs. Patricia is my favorite hygienist but, due to me switching jobs and insurance I don't get to see her as much. I come twice a year for my cleanings and I could not be any happier when I leave! Its always nice and clean in the inside, checkout is always easy and they always schedule my appointments 6 months in advance and call me for a reminder. Since the outbreak, they have taken necessary precautions to make sure everyone is safe including themselves. I see masks, face shields, hand sanitizer and they sterilize between EVERY customer... as they should! Ps. DR. Alexander fine as hell. Aight read more

Dr. Murray and staff couldn't be nicer! I drive an hour each way to see them. Good prices too. It's like visiting family!

I have never been to a dentist that made me feel so comfortable. I was there for a tooth extraction and Dr. Murray and Tasha provided an almost painless experience. I am so pleased. If you are looking to get in and out, this is not the doctor's office for you. While the staff is very nice, they seem to be unorganized and overbooked. I spent almost 3 hours at this location for a routine cleaning. Their procedures are backwards and unclear prior to making an appointment. I will not be returning. read more

I am writing today because I am extremely disappointed in the customer services I received today. Not from the Dentist but from the lady at the front desk. I was referred to the office by a long standing patient with you all named Jacqueline Bassett. I was impressed by her work and asked her for the referral. I immediately called and was told that you take walk ins Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 8:30am until 10am. I excitedly arrived at the office which is located on the other side of town for me at 8:12am to try to be one of the first people in line. When I arrived I was told I wouldn't be seen until 10 or 10:30am. I was okay with that because I am excited about finally getting my dental work done. I go back to my car and asked what time should I be back and she said before 10am. So I go wait in my car and came back into the office about 9:55am to use the bathroom and to wait because she instructed me to be back by 10am. After I used the bathroom I sat in the waiting room for her to ask me "did you need to ask me a question?" I'm thinking no you told me to come back by 10 so you should be telling me something. I then ask will he be available soon and she says no. I asked will you call me and she says yes. (poor customer service). I go back to my car and sit another hour. She calls me to come in, sits me in a small room and says we're going to have to schedule you to come back for the exam and xrays which I'm still ok with I guess but I wanted him to at least look at my mouth. She said he would be in soon. Well another 20 minutes passes by and no Dr. Murrary. I don't even think he knew he had a walk in. I'm sitting and waiting and because I now know I'm not being "officially" seen, I'm thinking it will only take him 5 minutes to look at my mouth and I can be on my way. I understand there were a few patients ahead of me but when I tell you it wasn't crowded, there weren't a lot of people in there at all and she even turned away another walk in after me. Meaning there were no other walk ins but me. So now I"m getting frustrated and I asked her do you know how much longer? Her reply...I don't know. He has 2 people in the room and 1 for an 11am appointment. So what does that mean? Be clear!!! Needless to say she wasn't and when I said I'll just come back, she didn't stop me, ask me to reschedule she did absolutely NOTHING but let me walk out the door. I have just spent 3 hours in my car to see a dentist for a 5 minute consult. This is truly unprofessional and another reason black people don't like shopping with other black people for reasons like this. I can't say anything about the Dr. because I NEVER say him nor do I think he knew I was there. Dry, impersonal and lack of good customer service people should NOT be at the front desk. I am a media personality with a very large network and I am always referring people. 3 hours??? With no communication until I made an effort is unacceptable. I pray that we as black business owners or those who work for us get it together. As I sat there I was able to obtain an appointment with another dentist closer to my house, better customer service and was able to get me in tomorrow! I prefer to give my money to our people but now I'm going to have to take it where i'm respected. read more

New to Atlanta, I was hesitant about choosing a new dentist. But, I was optimistic because I have had pretty good dental experiences. I made an appointment at JD Murray, DDS & Associates, and Dr. Clement Alleyne--a dentist contractor--became my new dentist. Despite his biting humor, I was put at ease by the rest of the staff. That was all misleading, because, looking back, they are very much focused on how much they can get you for and not at all interested in your health. I was to have a root canal, a pretty big deal to me, but I have had it done more than once so I knew the drill. Dr. Clement Alleyne took a really long time and multiple, time-elapsed shots of anaesthetic to perform a root canal that failed by the time the crown was ready. All this took waaaay too many hours and my jaw muscles were very sore--so sore that he needed a block to wedge in my mouth because my muscles were shaking from fatigue. In hindsight, he did not know what he was doing. Weeks later, I explained that the tooth he performed the root canal on felt strange and wrong, and the cap was very, very tight when they dry fit it. Dr. Alleyne put the cap on anyway and the assistant made me sign a liability waiver. I explained that it did not feel right and that I should wait for him to correct it to sign it. She "encouraged" me to sign it, saying that he would fix it. Dr. Alleyne had disappeared. I felt very disempowered and signed it. Needless to say, I was in pain that evening and so made another appointment. Now, I realize that my root canal was not complete and my root was rotting in my tooth, causing the swelling that led to the tight-fitting crown. Dr. Alleyne saw me again and I was in his chair for many more hours of painful root canaling. Instead of fixing the root canal that he botched, he sprays water all in my mouth and diagnoses the adjacent tooth as having the problem. I protested, saying that I had not had problems on that second tooth--which had been expertly capped years before, but that Dr. Alleyne should please check the tooth he just worked on. Dr. Alleyne insisted it was the second tooth. It is difficult to protest while in escalating pain from his first botched root canal, and laying supine with mouth open and jaw sore from hours of his previous work. The second tooth was capped and had been fine prior to Dr. Alleyne's greedy wickedness. Dr. Alleyne, seeing dollar signs and the possibility of more pain from me, allowed me two choices, let him bust open the second crown that was previously fine or leave in escalating pain. I truly believe that this man is sadistic. Dr. Alleyne did a very terrible job on the second root canal that he forces me into and did not remedy the escalating pain of the first botched root canal. That night I was in excruciating pain and called the dentist on duty. Of course this was Dr. Murray--the owner of this fine establishment--who says come in the next day. Dr. Alleyne finally cleans out the first root again after one month and several visits and many hours of blinding pain and a sore jaw. Of course, he busts open the crown that I told him did not fit properly because of the poorly done root canal that he performed. Six months later, while on vacation in my hometown, I have strange sensations from that region of my mouth. My endodontist shows me where Dr. Alleyne put cotton in my tooth, instead of completing the second root canal that he conned me into. Of course, is a terrible thing for a dentist to do because it WILL result in terrible health consequences for the patient. 3 years later, I am still dealing with complications from Dr. Alleyne's incompetent, irresponsible and sadistic treatment. Additionally, he ruined two $600 crowns that he refused to refund or remedy. And now, the second crown has broken and needs to be replaced. Of course, no one could pay me to return to the torture that is Dr. Alleyne's dentistry practice. And I would stay far away from any of Dr. Murray's dentistry businesses. read more

Took several attempts to schedule. finally scheduled and arrived for appointment but was not seen in reasonable time frame. Came in for routine cleaning but was offered an up sale on dental work over a thousand dollars in order to cleaning. I left without cleaning. read more
