I was having a terrible time getting an appointment in time to make the deadline for my annual Marine Corps flight physical and would have lost flight status if I couldn't be seen. They were extremely helpful making the appointment and honest with me about how many I would need. I didn't have to wait longer than 5 min to be seen, ever. Julissa, Dr. Page's assistant was super friendly, positive, and helpful. She walked me through every test and took the time to chat and be there physically when assistants usually just leave you alone in a room. Only Dr. Jones diagnosed pseudoexfoliation and successfully performed cataract surgery. Since that time he has monitored my vision and prescribed drops to prevent glaucoma. In addition to his expertise, he is a very personable doctor. Although I have moved to the East Bay, I continue to drive back to Monterey to see the only ophthalmologist I trust. One other in Santa Clara whom I located in a search confirmed the diagnosis but I cannot locate him now. I like and trust Dr. Jones enough to make the long drive. He is at the Vantage Eye Center and another doctor, Bernardo, whom I saw was also very good. I have also referred a friend to them, who had shingles near his eye and the clinic worked with him to clear the problem.

From the moment I walked into this office I was immediately struck by how very friendly, courteous and efficient the entire staff are. Dr. Penrose is very knowledgeable, extremely patient and was willing to spend his time answering all my questions (I had many) to ensure I felt at ease with the procedure and what I could expect result wise for my vision after surgery. Jessica who coordinates and schedules surgery dates, after surgery follow up appointments, details on medication, eye drops, after surgery care, booking the surgery center is exceptional and went out of her way to accommodate appointment times and dates to fit into my schedule. I had absolutely no problems with insurance billing and any costs, co-payments, etc all all were fully explained in detail.
