Brought in a simple denim skirt: requested front pockets w bulky lining be sewed closed and pocket lining removed as skirt draped poorly w pockets in place. Picked up skirt and brought home only to find they did ONLY ONE SIDE. Was laughed at when I returned skirt complaining job was only half done. And the charge for this half job was $30. Lesson: check their work or go elsewhere. I think they're too busy to sweat the details on not fancy jobs. read more

The first time I came in he told me the dress was too small (hard pill to swallow am I right?), but recommended which size I should order based on his measurements. I was able to order a new dress closer to my correct size and went back to Mr. Kim for alterations. I needed it drastically shortened and it to be pulled in a little under my arm. The total was $70 which I thought was pretty fair. The dress was ready by my pickup date (I picked 2 weeks because I wasn't in a rush) and there were no issues. Day of my friends wedding it was perfect! The facility is clean and well managed and will not disappoint! If you're looking to have something altered, give Kim's a try. Loved my experience here. I brought my bridesmaids dress here and it needed everything fixed.. the straps, the bust, the hem, the back, basically a new dress. The dress was a raw edged tulle, with a lining. The cost was $49, which seemed reasonable since I had previously paid $65 for a similar tailoring elsewhere. The dress was completed within a week, but that is based on the timeline I gave them. We took several suits and slacks to be tailored, and it was kind of a nightmare. First they were way too long, then way too short, different leg lengths on a pair of pants, different sleeve lengths on a coat. They were nice about it and happy to try again...and again...and again. It took a total of 4 visits and almost $1800 for 6 pieces, which seems extremely excessive, not to mention the time and energy running back and forth. I feel like if it is something very simple like hemming a dress they would be fine, but better to not take a suit. They were so great! The man/owner is so kind and helpful and it's so affordable. I had a double layer bridesmaid dress hemmed for around $45. It took around 2 weeks. Every time I went in he helped me with my stroller and even brought my dress out to the car for me. As with any tailor, as long as you're specific with what you want done (emphasis on what YOU want done) you'll have no issues. I dropped my wedding dress off for alterations a month before I needed it. Mr. Kim pinned my dress and sent me on a way, charged me $290 but it's my wedding dress so i understood. He said he would call when it was finished, no call. The week before my wedding I call to see if it's ready, and he seemed confused but said to come get it. I pick it up, drive all the way home just to realize it does not fit. I know I should've tried it on there but it was sooo busy in there and he didn't even notice I was in or out. I call the business before the closing hours and no answer. I was forced to take it to a tailor at Tyson's mall because they are open, and she fixed it the best she could in a day and charged me $100. I go back to Kim's the next day to ask for a discount and he gets in an argument with me, saying that it fits and I should've taken it back to him (I reminded him the store was closed). All & all, my take back from this is give him lots and LOTS of time, and maybe don't go there with anything expensive. There's a sign on the front door they'll be closed for a couple weeks because he's not feeling well. I would've loved a discount and an apology and got neither, I got my money back from the bank anyway. read more

I just didn't know how the prices are made, and if prices were clear this would have gotten five stars. I understand that tailors have to adjust based on the clothing and the amount of work that they do. I came here on a Thursday for last minute suit tailoring, I told them I needed it expedited and done by Saturday for an event on Sunday. They told me I could pickup on Saturday after 6PM so I called to come by earlier to ensure everything fit correctly and was told to come 30 minutes prior. I get there the suit isn't tailored correctly so I ask if they could make the corrections, considering at this point I can't take it anywhere else and have it done, they said no sorry we're closing in almost TWO HOURS. As soon as I stepped into Mr. Kim's shop, everyone was busy working away. Mr. Kim came over to speak to me and asked how he could be of assistance. After putting on my suit, Mr Kim. stood about 15 feet away from me, walked around me in a circle, and began pinning away - no questions asked. 8 days later, my suit was actually ready 2 days before the original date given. Got a bridesmaids dress from Davids bridal and it looked terrible on me because of how poorly they made it. Mr. Kim did an absolutely amazing job tailoring the dress exactly how I needed it! He took 5 inches off the front, 3 inches off the back, hemmed the dress, put cups in, took in the top, brought the halter together more tightly, fixed the belt, and sewed the clasp that fell off the first time I tried it on back on, along with securing all the other clasps. It wasn't cheap (came out to $100), but I actually feel like I can wear the dress without looking like a mess in my friends wedding. Mr Kim doesn't say very much but he is amazing at his job.
