I went to the store without an appointment, Fred welcomed me warmly, and even though 2 other customers came in, I was in and out of there in under 8 minutes! (He was able to help them too.) Aside from the great price and friendly attitude, Fred also noticed that there was some rust in the mechanism restricting the movement and he cleaned it out and added lubricant without even charging me. VCA offers complimentary resizing, but you have to mail it in and wait at least 3 weeks. For me, $55 was well worth it to save the time, shipping, driving to SF, appointment, and waiting. I'm also not too concerned about the VCA warranty for a simple adjustment--Ali offers a much more convenient and affordable local repair option. What I really like is that Ali is a small-business owner who takes pride in his work. If you're concerned about bringing in an expensive or sentimental piece, you can call and make an appointment, and Ali can repair it on-site while you watch. That gave me a lot of peace of mind. While I waited, several customers came in with questions about jewelry and materials. Ali was so patient and helpful with everyone, even when they weren't there to buy anything. That really impressed me. I came in with one bracelet to resize and ended up leaving with a perfectly sized bracelet plus a beautiful new flower bracelet--for only about $300 total! I'm extremely happy. Great service, fair pricing, fast turnaround, and quality work. And honestly, $55 these days is basically a couple of boba teas or two bowls of noodles! I have walked past this place so many times when in Westgate mall. I talked to them about what was going on and how I also wanted to smooth out the side prongs because they were digging into my finger. They suggested I run it all through insurance first so we could get as much of it covered. I came back when I got the okay from my insurance and Dom helped me out! We discussed what was going to be done, he gave me some tips on things we could do for my ring in the future to prevent it from bending a prong again, and then we got the quote. Hands down the best place to get your jewelers fixed! They finished it in about a week and it looks better than when I first got it! The prongs on the center stone are perfect, and the ones for the side diamonds look amazing! They were able to smooth them down a bit but then add more material to make sure they are nice and snug!
