    Fish-shaped waffles (Bungeo-ppang)
    Celine L.

So happy they opened up again after being closed for the summer so of course I had to visit! It's a small cart that makes fresh and hot fish-shaped waffles (bungeo-ppang) & pancakes (hotteok) - what's not to love?! I did notice the price was slightly increased from the last time I was here earlier this year in April. The waffles are $1.75 each or 3 for $5 (it used to be 4 for $5 sadly but I understand inflation ). The pancakes are $2.75 each or 4 for $10 now! I ordered a bunch of red bean flavoured waffles and they were amazing. Fresh, hot, crispy on the outside, soft and slightly sweet on the inside. So good. The frozen ones can't even come close to these fresh ones. I'll be back!!

There was a line when we went there, but we didn't have to wait too long for our food. I would definitely come back for the veggie pancakes!

So worth the wait! Red bean waffles is my fave and so good when it's nice and warm. Price is so reasonable too! The street cart is a nice ambience and almost feels like Korea...

So glad I got to try their Korean pancakes and waffles before they end the season! Their cart doesn't open during the summer months. I have seen these in Korean dramas so I was pretty excited to see what they taste like! I tried their savory vegetables pancakes, and sweet cinnamon pancakes $10 for 5 pancakes They were made to order, so extremely hot and pretty fresh, with a 10 min wait I enjoyed both the veggies and the sweet cinnamon pancakes! The waffles were crispy on the outside and creamy custard filling (choice of red bean, custard or veggies) Can't wait to try them again in September!!

Passed by them few times, always have a line, but they were out of the fish, finally got to try it today, we ordered all 3 flavours of the fish. Taste 1/1* Love it!! Fresh red bean, wife absolutely loved the custard, and mother in law loved the veggies...I liked all 3 As the guy was marking down our order, I saw that we were the only customer who ordered veggie flavour, so I said 'your veggies aren't very popular hey', and the guy awkwardly laughed after saying 'yes'... But hey it was gooood, they are missing out!! Value 1/1* 4 smallish medium sized tasteful fish for $5, worth it!! Service 1/1* Friendly with good expectation, was told 25min and that's how long it took. Cleanliness 1/1* It's a good truck Overall/Revisit 1/1* 100% sure the wife will be asking to drop by again soon Paying for ambience? NO Above and beyond? 0/+1*

This small food cart sits just outside Hannam supermarket under some stairs. The wait is a little long but worth it for the taste and price of these street sweets! The servers make it fresh. I got custard and red bean taiyakis and one sweet hotteok to try for the first time. The taiyakis were so good for the price! Packed with delicious filling and the crust is nice for my soft mouth. Bring it home and toast for an extra little crunch if you need! I actually ended up preferring the custard filling which was surprising! The hotteok was also really good! Since it was my first time trying, I didn't know what to expect. It was good amount of sweetness! However, I'd much prefer to get more taiyaki next time!

Love love love freshly made taiyaki... especially the veggies ones .. the red bean ones are filled with a lovely coarse textured red bean filling that is not too sweet. I like to toast these little guys in a toaster before eating to get that crispiness back that seems to fly away otw home.

    Bungeoppang ($5.00 for 5)

Kim's Korean Waffles and Pancakes specializes in my favourite Korean snack, hotteok, along with bungeoppang. They're a small street cart outside/right beside Onggi Korean Cuisine. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 6:45pm). There was a small line but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for our order to be made. Note: if you pay with card (debit or credit), they charge GST on top. - 3x Hotteok ($2.00 each) - we tried two sweet (brown sugar and cinnamon) and one vegetable pancake. The sweet had a nice chewy texture and wasn't too sweet. Reminded me of the hotteok I had from the street stalls in South Korea. The vegetable one was also excellent. I'd get both again. - Bungeoppang ($5.00 for 5) - we asked for two custard, two red bean and one vegetable. They missed giving us the vegetable one so we were only able to try the custard and red bean. Red bean was the winner of the two. Custard was bland and left me wanting more. Will be back to Kim's for more Korean snacks next time I'm in the hood.

I missed Korean street food and it was on the way to our geocery shopping at @hannamsupermarket. I stopped by @kimskorean.wnp and got the Round-shaped Korean Sweet Rice Pancake and the Fish-Shaped Korean Waffles (red beans, custard and vegetables). I really enjoyed watching them to make the food in front of me. They are very cheap. Pancake $2 each or $10 for 6 Waffle $1.25 each or $5 for 5 All the pancakes and waffles were made fresh to order. The red beans / custard fillings are very smooth. The vegetables filling has potatoes, peppers, carrots, onions. The Korean pancake has brown sugar, cinnamon and peanuts. It tasted good but it would be better if it had more filling. It filled up about 1/3.

COVID #15 Waiting for this to get plagiarized. It's the worst kept secret in Vancouver Yelp. OK, no KFC this time. Well, a different kind of *KFC. *Korean Fried Carbohydrates. Waffles. Stuffed waffles Shaped like fish It's a small Mr Tube Steak cart that makes *KFC. Sweet and savoury. Veggie is savory Red bean and custard is semi-sweet. I liked the ones I tried. They're quite good.

Kim's Korean waffles and pancakes located in coquitlam by hannam market. This shopping Center square has this Korean waffle stand by the staircase kinda hidden but it's always busy! They make the best street food fish waffles (taiyaki) and Korean pancakes that are sweet and savoury! I love getting this as a snack especially when I am hungry from shopping at the Korean supermarkets. Be prepared to wait for this delicious treat because there's usually always a line and they make things fresh! It's always steaming hot and so good For the waffles and pancake they both have the savoury option of vegetables with some noodles and it's peppery (so good) and they have sweet options for the waffle they have red bean and custard and for the pancake it's brown sugar cinnamon (it's like eating a mini sugary donut!)

Hidden little gem for Korean waffles right underneath the stairwell by the supermarket. We got five Korean waffles, and at least one of each flavour and they are best eaten fresh! So much deliciousness in one bite and my favourite was definitely the custard!

    Sweet cinnamon hotteok
    Stephanie M.

I've been waiting to visit this truck after visiting a couple years back. We ordered the sweet sugar cinnamon hotteok and 5 of the taiyakis with red bean. The red bean taiyakis weren't very crunchy but the red bean inside was perfectly sweetened. The hotteok was really delicious. It was very chewy and cinnamony. The melted sugar inside was like hot lava inside but I really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend the hotteoks! If you are looking to visit, you better visit before they close for the summer and get a hotteok. The staff are also really friendly and the pricing is cheap!

Decent quality, but honestly nothing really stuck out, especially for the price. This place isn't cheap. Maybe I'll try another dish at some point.

We had waited quite awhile to get a table and then the portions were puny. Also, I think one of us at the table had found a fruit fly or something like that in some of the food or drink. It was a probably a bad idea to go when it was a newly opened business. Fast forward to now...we had a much different experience this time and were extremely happy customers this time. We ordered the following: Egg Benedict Souffle Pancake with Oyama Sausages Egg Benedicat Souffle Pancake with Avocado Okonomiyaki Souffle Pancake Tiramisu Souffle Pancake Rose & Lychee Soda Hojicha Oat Latte Earl Grey Tea Americano Orange Juice OK...could have been happier but that part was our own fault. Didn't realize they took reservations so we walked in without any reservation on a Saturday morning, had to put our name down on a waitlist and waited what felt like an eternity to get our table. We will go in with a reservation next time. The food was sooo good though. Very quickly forgot about the unpleasantly long wait for our table once we dug into our food. The pancakes were soooo fluffy and jiggly! Especially the Tiramisu souffle pancakes. They were stacked so high and had so much jiggle action. No need to travel all the way to Japan for jiggly souffle pancakes. The ones we have here at Fufu Cafe in Vancouver are plenty jiggly and everything tasted awesome as well. In fact, we've travelled to Japan twice and both times failed to get jiggly souffle pancakes. We had some awesome pancakes in Japan, but never did manage to get any jiggly pancakes. Highly recommend this place but do make sure to make a reservation before going in, or else you'll be waiting a long time to get a table.

It was clean and bright and we got a nice seat by the window. Our server was quick to say hello and take our drink order. I'm always impressed with the breadth of the menu here. I landed on the Seafood Yummy Hash, and hubby had the Big breakfast, again. Coffee and water came first, and we were both delighted at how good the coffee was. Most diner style restaurants have a very burnt tasting coffee but this was very smooth. Off to a good start! Food came out very quickly and looked amazing. Both dishes were beautifully plated, and the fruit on the big breakfast was not a typical canned special. Things took a turn at the first bite though. Taste 10/10, but our food was cold. Like cold, cold which was surprising given the restaurant was mostly empty, and it came out so quick. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and very obviously in-house made, but both of our potatoes were quite literally cold, with some of the baby potatoes being hard in the middle still. The sourdough was also stale, but not just stale in taste, it was almost like it had been toasted well in advance and then plated. The review on the big breakfast remains the same as last time. Sausage was amazing, but the bacon and the ham left something to be desired. The server took some time to return back to our table and check in on us. When she did I told her our food was cold. She just kind of made a face, said oooooh, apologized, and that was it. She also had to be reminded to refill our coffees a second time after asking. The last shock came with the bill. While the prices overall were reasonable for very large servings of food, two black coffees came to $11. I know we raved about them at the beginning of the review, but not sure they were $11 good. Really wanted to love it, but not sure it lived up to expectations this time.
