I really enjoyed my visit to Canffle. The warm, inviting smell of freshly made croissants and waffles literally drew us in and made us curious to discover what was happening inside. The space is bright and welcoming, the staff were pleasant, and the customer service was excellent. We tried two items from the menu, and while they were not bad, I still haven't made up my mind about the food yet. I would definitely like to go back and explore more of their menu before forming a final opinion. Main highlight of this place is that they are very pocket friendly with quality food and good portion sizes. Drinks: White chocolate mocha - 5/5 you could taste the while chocolate and coffee flavours and it wasn't too sweet. mocha - 4/5 not too sweet but lighter on the coffee bellacoola lemonade - 2/5 it was too sweet, I couldn't finish it. Food (you have a choice of brussels, mochi, or croffle waffle) beef teriyaki sandwich - over easy eggs, katsuobushi, teriyaki sauce, green and red onions. 5/5 it was super flavourful, we chose the brussels waffle for this one. chicken basil melt - pesto, poached chicken, cheese and salad on the side. Kind of surprised that this place isn't more popular with the influencers all over Vancouver with its unique concept and open dining space. For a brunch place, the pricing is very reasonable and the ruffles are a unique concept and Vancouver that not a lot of bakeries or brunch places do and they do them really well. The cream and ruffles are to die for it because the cream they use is actually sublime and very heavy with the milk flavor. The savory options are also very good as well and very filling. Why did I JUST visit this place! So overdue. I kept passing it and was curious but never checked it out. Bill came to around $46 with tip and tax. Stopped by for lunch at this newly opened spot in the Joyce-Kingsway area, and it did not disappoint! We ordered an Egg Sandwich and an Avocado Sandwich, both served as a combo with a drink. Everything was delicious--the bread was incredibly fluffy, and the fillings were super generous. Safe to say we were both stuffed... just like our sandwiches! we came to this spot on our last day in van. for brunch and waited around 45 minutes to be served.. but it was SO WORTH my parents kept complimenting the taste and its visuals so that's definitely a rare and telltale sign! the food was hot when it was served which made our wait all the better -- with the croffle's outer layer crunchy yet soft and chewy within they did not skimp out on the fillings because both sandwiches were absolutely stuffed (and so were we)! the bacon benny was such a well-balanced plate that everything worked so harmoniously.. the.. I love this restaurant! It's cute and intimate where when you first walk in, you're hit with the heartwarming smell of waffles (or more likely croffles) at Canffle. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly, quick to help out at even the tiniest cues. I spilled maybe two drops of water and they brought a stack of napkins that I almost felt a little sorry. I got the Belgian waffle for my beef omelette which was only so-so because I ate it too slowly and the waffle got a bit wet from the heat. This didn't dampen my experience since it still tasted amazing and thankfully, I had ordered two croffles with my party of 4 to share. The croffles were so tasty and crunchy and just everything you want in a waffle. The veggies were fresh and nothing was too heavy (assuming you share the meal with others because the portion sizes are huge!). 10/10 would go again. Salmon benny: eggs benny on a croffle is so much better than eggs benny on an English muffin! The croffle was light and fluffy. Too many raw red onions, I picked out a few. Holy! Never knew I needed a Canffle until I had one! Was craving eggs but something sweet too. This did the trick. It's a purpose made waffle wrap with eggs and cheese and I added asparagus and omitted the ham. I've been craving eggs done right and now I'm egged-out, in a good way. It fulfilled my craving and then some. It was incredibly delicious, love the hint of sweetness. Eggs and cheese were cooked perfectly although there was so much of it, I even removed half! After a hearty lunch, my friends and I went to Canffle to enjoy some dessert waffle. I was amazed by the selection of waffles available which ranged from savoury breakfast waffles to sandwich waffles to sweet dessert waffles. I was truly impressed at the versatility of the waffle. My friends and I shared the matcha cream croffle which was absolutely delicious. The matcha cream wasn't too sweet and not too bitter. The cream was fluffy and airy. As the name suggests, the croffle is a mix of croissant and waffle and it lived up to its name as it was flaky like a croissant, but had the shape and texture of a waffle - truly delightful. My friend was displeased with the name Canffle for 2 reasons. Firstly, she argued with her whole chest that it stood for Canadian Waffle, but in reality it just stands for Can (canned drinks ??) Solid brunch spot on Kingsway! Sounds like it just opened up last summer and there can be a long wait, but when my friend and I came for Sunday brunch around noon, we were seated immediately after checking in. There was a party of 3 ahead of us that was waiting for a spot, so I guess it helped we were a smaller group. They offer a variety of brunch items that all come with a waffle, including breakfast platters, benedicts, omelettes, sandwiches, etc. If you're here for dessert, they got you covered too, with a variety of toppings for your waffle. You get seated first but have to get up to place your order at the counter. My friend tried their house signature dish - the Norwegian brown cheese waffle ($5.99) as well as one of the melts. I was super hungry, so I ordered the Ben's Table ($21.50), which based on the description had a little bit of everything. I tried a bite of the Norwegian brown cheese waffle and it was super interesting. It's a sweet and savory dish with two crispy and thin waffles placed on top of each other with some whipped cream in between, and topped with maple syrup and brown cheese. I've never quite seen anything like this before, but surprisingly the combo works. You just have to eat it immediately since that's when it's crispiest. The Ben's Table comes with a small salad, tomatoes, bacon, chorizo, avocado, mushrooms, asparagus, baked beans, and two pieces of your choice of waffle between brussels croffle, and mochi. Canffle is most known for their croffle, so I chose that. It's a huge portion (I barely managed to finish it) and everything was delicious, but I will say, it was a really random assortment of meat and veggies. When I first got it, I wasn't sure where to start, since there was so much on the plate! Each item on the plate was solid, with my favorites being the croffle, ham, and sauteed mushrooms. The croffle was very buttery and crispy on the outside. The only thing I didn't like was the beans, but that's because I don't like sweet beans to begin with. I actually never liked pancakes and waffles but Canffle changed that. I came here with two friends C and H. I ordered the deluxe pizza melt with no olives. OMG that was a bomb. It was super flavorful. They were generous on the cheese. The pizza came with a side of greens. The surprising part was that the waffle was sweet and fluffy inside and still had that nice outside crispy crunch. I loved it. It was a nice treat. When we arrived at 11:30am, there were about 5 party in front of us waiting to be seated. Most people who come here do take out. The restaurants itself is very small with very limited seating. The place is somewhat self serve. Yes you go up and order and pay in advance. The server will bring you your food when it is ready. So glad I found a relatively new (opened in the summer of 2021) that is not in downtown! Parking is easy (easy street parking, about 1-2 blocks walking). Their name "Canffle" stands for "Can" and "Waffle". What's unique is that all their coffees (hot or cold) can be served in a one sized metal can at your request for no additional charge. It is piping hot initially, so don't drink it right away - it is a great option for takeout or to just get a cool picture/experience. Verry Berry Cream ($6.75): This is also a croffle, but it is sweater and crunchier on the outside (perhaps glazed with some sugar/glaze). I took a bunch of pictures and the whipped cream did not collapse, so it is probably a mixture of fresh cream, and fake (or whatever you call it) cream but it is still very tasty regardless. Not too sweet either. Garnished with fresh berries. Latte ($4.40): beautiful latte art. I like their coffee roasts too, it isn't too acidic or anything. Just a smooth, strong, bold cup of coffee. Sea Salt Cream Iced Coffee ($5.50): Very tasty drink - mix well! It's a must have as it is photogenic, tastes amazing, and is very reasonably priced. Creamy drink while also packing a punch with its caffeine and coffee flavour (I'm a coffee fanatic). Americano ($3.75): I got this in a can, just because I could haha. It was fun to try. Salmon Benny on Mochi Waffle ($15.75): You get to pick the type of waffle you want. The mochi waffle is super cool, and I absolutely LOVED the texture of the mochi waffle. It's not mochi chunks inside, but the WHOLE waffle is chewy. The egg wasn't leaky at all, but that's okay. I really liked the chunky guacamole mix on the waffle, it had chunks of tomatoes, onions and other goodies. Decent portion of smoke salmon on top too. Croffle Club Sandwich ($14.75): Croffle Club Sandwich had a yummy homemade sauce (some sort of sweet mustard?). Also has chicken breast, leaky egg, sweet onion & spinach. The sauce and thinly sliced sweet onions were m favourite part. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience - great staff, very reasonably prices, and everything (food & coffees) were delicious. We came on Sunday late morning, only one other couple was in front of us. We asked the server how long is the waiting time, she estimated 45 minutes, when in reality it was just 20 minutes. I ordered the Ben's Table and my husband ordered the Easy Morning. Portion is generous and quite a bit bigger than picture shown. All the food tastes average, eggs are slightly over cooked, the poached egg whites were bland and rubbery. I particularly like the sautéed mushrooms and croffle. I wish they have salt, pepper, hot sauce and syrup at every table, instead of just one set for the whole restaurant (which is not very covid friendly). Latte was slightly on the weaker side as well. I feel that servers are not very experienced. A server brought a cup of coffee to my husband. When she put the coffee down, she spilled so much on the plate and table. I'm in love with the brown cheese after I tried the house signature "Norwegian Brown Cheese Waffle". It is a simple dish. Two thin crispy waffles with a thin layer of whipped cream between it, topped with shredded brown cheese and maple syrup. Best to have it immediately to get the crispiness. It will lose the crisp once cooled. The brown cheese is called Brunost and is a caramel colored whey cheese. I had to google it. So it is a Norwegian food and is apparently also popular in Korea. It has a strong cheese taste but not overpowering so. The dish is salty and sweet but it is unlike salted caramel as it has a stronger taste. I guess it can be an acquired taste. My friend tried it as a spread before in Europe and she likened it to Marmite. The version here with the shredded cheese is milder and less salty than Marmite. Give it a try if you are adventurous with food. The flat white I had is also pretty good. A good addition to this part of kingsway for a cafe culture. New waffle shop on the block! Canffle is located on Kingsway a block away from Boundary on ground level of a brand new residential building. Be warned - this is neighborhood with HEAVY traffic, parking is available in front of the store and further away from the store itself. Most menu items seem to be breakfast / brunch oriented - think eggs Benny, omelettes, sandwiches + salads etc. - with most items having the option to choose from their 3 waffle-types: basic, mochi waffle, croffle (croissant-waffle). We tried their pizza omelette with a mochi-waffle. It quite self explanatory in regards to the omelette filling, the mochi-waffle (a first for me) I believe was fresh made, was so tough and rubbery once it cooled. Not that it didn't taste great - it was just very chewy to each as a carb alternative in a big breakfast scenario. I wouldn't hesitate to order the mochi-waffle alone as a grab and go option, the goal being it should be consumed asap like a bubble waffle! To complement the savory dish, we also order a Norwegian brown cheese waffle - this was the underdog - it was delicious! A five star in my mind. What sounds kind of unassuming, had all the flavour punches to make it addicting. It's basically a flat, plain waffle, folded in half into a semicircle, dosed with a hefty serving of "brown cheese" - which not sure what it is exactly - but flavor punch!! It tastes like an extra salty shaved frozen block of butter, with a heavy brown sugar / caramel undertone. I highly recommend this. The lineup for this waffle place was quite long when it first opened, so I decided to wait a couple months before trying it out. The restaurant has both a take-out section, as well as a small, ~7-8 table seating area. We came around 1pm, and there weren't that many full tables - granted, there was a lot of snow that day. However, there was still a steady stream of customers going in and out for the entire time we were there. We ordered an Easy Morning ($14.25), Salmon Benny ($15.75), and a Latte ($4.40). The latte was smooth and pretty standard. Unfortunately, they were out of their croffles that day, so we opted for an original brussels waffle and a mochi waffle to pair alongside our main dishes. The mochi waffle was paired with the easy morning breakfast. I quite enjoyed the mochi waffle on its own, but I thought that it was a bit too chewy alongside the other toppings. I honestly would think that the mochi waffle would instead be a really good dessert option, but not too much as a savoury option. The mochi waffle is also quite filling. The bacon was quite delicious (not too salty), and salad was refreshing. The salmon benny was pretty good -- plenty of smoked salmon as well as avocado bruschetta. The bruschetta had a tart/sour taste, which balanced nicely with the fragrant brussel waffle. I appreciate that the portions were quite generous! I think one main dish paired with a croffle would be enough for 2 people with smaller appetites. Very cute little spot. The nice bright signage of Canffle lured us in. So happy to see they are checking vaccine cards at entrance. Keeping all patrons and staff safe is always so reassuring :) We ordered the Cheddar Croffle , Chili Basil Croffle and Chocolate Croffle. Cons: I wish they heated up the Cheddar Croffle, cold cheese and cold waffle wasn't the best. Really wish they had chives or had just melted cheese right before serving. It's odd to serve pre melted cold cheese on cold waffle. Flavours were flat and texture was unappealing. My partner order that one and didn't have much hopes after eating it. Pros: The Chili Basil was really good. Loved the fresh pesto. The texture of the waffle was really nice. Dunno if I lucked out and mine was made more recently (or they heated it up because mine was room temp not cold). It definitely helped with the waffle texture and brought out the lovely buttery and sweet taste of the waffle. My partner definitely regretted not ordering the Chili Basil aswell. As a chocolate fan I liked the plain croffle with the chocolate drizzle. Would have been so nice with a coffee. Next time I hope they aren't sold out of the donut waffles. Brown cheese is a Norwegian tan-coloured whey cheese with a distinctive caramel flavour. This was my absolute favorite dish out of everything we tried The mochi waffle was also such a nice change from the usual brussels or liege waffles offered around the Lower Mainland. Portion sizes are generous but they do get busy fast (even at 8am on weekends) so I'd recommend going during off hours! The reason for losing a star is the non-attentive service. The cafe got busy fairly quickly, however, we had to ask for water, utensils, and our drinks. The food took a while to come out and all came out quite slowly after one another. Bright family friendly brunch spot along kingsway. They even brought my toddler niece her own set plastic cups and played. So nice. Lots of street parking nearby. Come early to get a spot and dine comfortably. We tried 2 different waffle batters, mochi and croffle and both were delicious in its own way. They should look into better ventilation as it gets quite Smokey in there. read more

This is a small breakfast and lunch place that serves delicious waffles and various breakfast items. There are only a few tables so we had to wait a bit outside but that's all right. The waffles were delicious and my breakfast had a bit of everything and was a good deal. The servers were very nice and my order came quickly. We will be back! read more

I didn't know what to expect here. I thought it was like Canadian Waffles or something but the name is actually a combination of croissant and waffles. They have croissant-waffles or "croffles" which are excellent. read more
