Never again!! First of all this lady did not speak english which makes communication a bit hard. She removed my old gel with the sander!! Didn't even use the acetone and nail wrap traditionally used everywhere. I did ask and she said "no problem" once she finished my middle finger was the worst!!! It had waves in it.. I decided to come here because of the reviews I saw for Kim, & I was not dissapointed! Kim takes pride in her work and she is oh, so sweet! She went back & fixed anything that wasn't up to par, before I even had a chance to ask her to fix it. I am very picky & indecisive but Kim was so patient with me & I seriously couldn't say enough how nice she is. She did a wonderful job. My full set was $25. I got my nails coffin shaped and I got gel nail polish, as well as a different gel color on my ring fingers. It came out to $35 total which is amazing for a town where everything is so expensive! Walked in after the movies for a mani pedi. Was helped by Ly, she is very friendly and enjoys chitchat which is nice since I like to socialize as well. Place was clean overall and she checked with me frequently if I was ok. New massage chairs for pedicures, basic pedi with sugar scrub felt amazing. Wished I hadn't worn jeans that morning so I could try the hot stone massage pedi. Definitely will try next time. She also did my mani and made sure I was content with both color and shape of my nails since I went shorter and roundish. She is perfect. Will go back to her. read more

I don't know what has taken me so long to write a review for Kim's but here it is! I have been a faithful customer of Kim's for about 3 years now. My introduction to the salon was with Michael. I had some issues with his work and returned the next day to have it resolved. Michael gave me major attitude about it and we exchanged a few words. The owner Kim, overheard the exchange and apologized for his behavior (he's her brother-in-law) and she corrected the situation. She fixed my nails and Michael was gone a few weeks later. I have been coming to her twice a month ever since. She is thorough, nice, fast and she does an AWESOME job! I pay extra for a different material because I am now allergic to the regular acrylic and materials used for that type of nail set. Let me tell you, it is worth EVERY penny! I get compliments on my nails all of the time and I never have an issue with lifting or chipping etc. I Love her work. My pedicures are no different. She does a fantastic job. I don't even care what type of design she puts on my toes. I trust her and whatever she puts on there, I am always pleased with. Bleh Came in for a toe nail change. Had turquoise toe nail polish on my toes. I changed the color to pink. They left a lot of the old nail polish on. Pink nails with turquoise edge? Um hell naw I asked them to redo some nails but didn't realize they should have redone the whole thing. The owner did my nail fill and was super clear with her English. $20 for a mani/pedi in this area is a good deal I guess. The spa chair was kinda old as I could hardly feel the massage. Polish selection wasn't that great. Most where shiny/glittery, not matte ones and most were brands I haven't seen. The lady that was doing my pedi did a nice job and took her time. The lady who seemed like the owner (Kim?) started doing my hands but she was kinda distracted by the TV. She also was so pushy wanting me to get tips! I had to repeat that I just wanted a regular mani/pedi. She kinda did my cuticles, and then passed it on to another worker who had to start all over again. This was my second time here, first time here was great but this second time the girl rushed through my whole pedicure. She only let my feet soak in the water for about 20 seconds and didn't even wrap my feet for the callus removal gel. she put the callus gel on and started scrubbing right away, and she hardly scrubbed, did a horrible job with it. The massage was not even 10 minutes as their pamphlet states. Also, since my last time the prices have gone up, last time I was here my pedicure was about $25, this time around I paid $44. I actually don't give this place any stars and would rate it negative stars, if possible. I went to this spot on Fri May 2, 2014. I was not familiar with the area and stopped here for a mani-pedi. There were 2 customers and 3 staff. 2 staff were busy with 1 customer. I waited as the 3rd staff finished with her customer. The foot bath was started for me and I sat down. The staff came and took one foot out of the tub, then abruptly left to take payment from the customer who was leaving. She not only left me hanging, but she was handling cash with her gloves on! When she came back, she did apologize, but then proceeded to clean my feet without changing her gloves! She then started to use tools which I realized were not sterile!! Just as I was about to say something about it, she stopped service, put the tool down, grabbed a bag which held her phone, and began to make a personal phone call!! All with gloves still on, mind you!! I was livid; I said, "forget it, I'm done. This is ridiculous. " and got the hell out of there. I do not recommend this place. Terrible service, unsanitary, and very old low quality nail polish, to boot. read more

I used to coffee here alot. My sister's (4 and mom) all the time!! Then for a special occasion my sister's n I took my mom for mani pedis. We were there before it got busy. People started coming in and they totally half assed everything. Im was so mad. I mean we were a big ticke and no doubt would've tipped well but they killed it. I have been coming here the last 5 times. But I don't know why. Perhaps creature of habit. And also that it's super convenient. It's right by the freeway. So I figure I get a mani and a pedi to beat the traffic. I'm always greeted right away which I like. However it seems like I am always waiting an hour. AT LEAST to get worked on. They are understaffed. I have come in on a weekday. And there was only one worker. She asked me to come back in an hour. (I didn't). And then another time. I was just sat in a table for just a a manicure when others came in and got worked on right away because they got pedicures. How wrong is that? My nails also chipped in like 2 days and my acrylics were already started to lift. They don't seem sanitized and that scares me. I will not be coming back. There are so many nail salons everywhere. Kim does an AMAZING job on my nails every time I come in! She and her staff are always very accommodating, even when I don't make an appointment! Kim pays very close attention to detail and still gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time, as I am usually coming in on my lunch hour! I've been coming here for years my cousin recommended me this place at first and she's very picky with her nails. I believe that their specialty are pedicures. Most places just clean your nails from the outside and don't look for ingrown nails and that's what I love about this place for $12 you get a full service! I have gone to a couple of salons but this was by far my second favorite (my first is Nana Nails on Lincoln & St College) I only got a deluxe pedicure here but Kim was so nice & Amy did a wonderful job with my feet. I've been having my nails done here for 6 weeks now, every 2 weeks. Before today I had tips and acrylic with Gel overlay. Van has done an excellent job each time and has fixed several nails that had fungus caused by another salon. Today Van wasn't in and so the owner Kim did my nails. After removing the polish we discovered more fungus had grown under a few more nails and so I gave up on acrylic and asked Kim to remove all of them and just give me a gel manicure. She was quick to agree and then patiently soaked them all off, at my request. I was also in for a pedicure so while they were soaking I had my pedicure done. Kim was so patient and very nice and always concerned about hurting me during the acrylic removal process (she was very gentle, by the way). The whole process took about 1-1/2 hours and Kim was very kind and patient the entire time. The lady that did my pedicure also did an excellent job - I am very pleased with my service today. My gel nails look beautiful - Kim did a perfect job on them! My pedicure is perfect too. I will be back to see Kim or Van in 2 weeks for sure. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. And by the way, their shop is clean. read more
