I had a 12:15 appointment today. When I arrived, the salon was jam-packed. I let the staff know I was there for my appointment, but they ignored me while chatting with each other. After several minutes of just standing there with no acknowledgment, someone finally told me to wait another 20 minutes. What's the point of making an appointment if it isn't honored? Great service, all ladies were so nice and conversational. Didn't try to push me into buying more than what I wanted.

I had to get my hard gel removed for work the next day. Kim Nail were kind and able to fit me in last minute. However the tech didn't know how to remove hard gel and jewels didn't tell me. They tried repeat dremel filing and soaking in a bowl of acetone. The tech seemed really frustrated and started to take it out on my nails. They used the dremel perpendicular to my nails and even pierced through my nail making me bleed. They tried cutting my nails with the gel on resulting in breaking another nail. They got so frustrated they took an acrylic nail and tried to pry off the gel. I usually trust the professionals but I had to call it. I cried in the car, I was mortified. I love doing my nails! I went to a close by salon who saved my nails! Kim nail at least didn't charge me but definitely would not recommend for more than a regular mani/pedi. read more

I got this pedicure done the day before I left for a trip and this is the result... the pedicure did not last more than two days! The pedicure is starting to chip away and does not look good at all. This place is outrageous expensive for what I got. A overlay refill, 2 standard standard pedicures and a basic manicure was $179 dollars. I asked for no gel polish on one of the pedicures and they did it without me noticing until it was too late. The customer service is not great either. So I went in around 4pm for a full set and pedicure. I didn't leave till past 7 I felt like what I asked for was pretty simple. I was already there an hour and a half by the time my pedicure was done and my pedicure looks great no complains there. I showed the girl a photo of what I wanted for my nails and said I wanted exactly like the photo pink French tips. By the time she started painting my nails I was there 2 and half hours and just wanted to leave. I had to ask her to fix the shape of a couple of my nails because they looked bad. Then she started doing white French tips not pink like I asked. At that point I just wanted to go home so I stuck with white but even the white French tips look bad. The white tip is so chunky nothing like the photo at all. I asked for a little heart on one of the nails and it looked really uneven so I just had her wipe it off. Kims nail salon experience was extremely disappointing. I went in the middle of the day during my lunch break and some of the nail techs were sleeping on the chairs from boredom, their feet up the chairs which was so unprofessional. Anyways, I asked for a full-set with a matt gel finish. Showed them a photo and that was it. It turns out, they are not advanced as far as the services provided and now I know why. You can basically do your own nails at home and they will turn out better. I paid $51.00 for a full-set for simple gel polish and less than a week later there are white spots on my nails, which indicates they used old gel polish or the gel polish is mixed with another product because it ran out and they added to its contents. I was away for a work conference so I was not washing dishes or doing anything that would cause the color to come off. My mother is a cosmetologist so I am speaking from some experience. Will never be returning again! This place is a joke and should probably get checked out by the board of cosmetology! read more

Salon is loud, manicurists/nail technicians have little or no social or conversational skills. Personnel speak in a different language and quite loudly and are not terribly interested in making any type of conversation or small talk with clientele. I think I know why the reviews here are so divergent - either 5s or 1s - it's because it depends so much on who you get! I came here 4 years ago when I first moved to the area because it's close to my house. I had a bad experience with someone cutting me and nails looking bad so I didn't come back and tried at least 7 other nail salons in the area. I got pregnant and had a baby and wanted to get my nails done but wanted to go somewhere close so I decided to give it another try. I got Helen and she did an amazing job gave me such a good pedicure experience. I came back in 6 weeks and did another pedicure with Helen which was great. She had to move on so Monique finished my manicure and my gel lasted 3 weeks! I've never had a gel last that long before. I was a bit concerned that it didn't look like they sterilized equipment between customers and nothing in the salon looked clean, but I came back due to good experience and proximity. Helen is out of town so I did a walk in and the person who did my nails cut me and kept going with the same nail file which really grossed me out since now my blood is on it and I'm sure she will use it with someone else. She also filed my nails uneven and also got nail polish all over my hands. They don't do dip either so if you want that this isn't your place. I would come back for Helen bc she did an amazing job and it's close to me, but I don't think it's safe to do walk ins due to the variability in experience (as evidenced by all the 1 star reviews). I do wish they would clean more too since it was quite noticeable that the chairs and equipment didn't look clean. read more

Just... DON'T! I went there for a fill on my acrylics and was told that the one missing nail would be $4 extra to replace... I figured the sign on the wall saying that nail "repairs" would be if you went in there with one bad finger a week after your full service... no no!! they charged me $4 for putting the nail back on even though they were doing the fill. I asked for pink powder instead of nude and she wanted $8 more for that... I asked for Gel... she said $15 more. WHATTT?! She made my acrylics so thin I could see my natural nail in places. When I tried to ask her for things she would start talking trash in Vietnamese and the whole line of manicurists would start laughing. By far the WORST experience ever. I went to Kim Nail's for about 7 years as a regular customer on every other Friday. I have had the same nail technician, Julie for pretty much the entire 7 years. I now live in Redlands, and after trying 3 different salons there, I can't find one that is close to as good as Kim nails. I never fully realized how well Julie and Kim nails pampered me until I moved. I would get spa pedicures with a sea salt scrub and callus removal. Julie spent at least 45 minutes on my pedicure every single time. My toes always looked great and I walked out refreshed after a lovely leg and foot massage. Julie was also very sweet. Shout out to Julie and 7 great years of pedi's at Kim nails. I MISS THEM! BTW, regarding the comments that the girls that work there look like they are being lazy and doing nothing; they were most likely waiting for a client that had an appointment. So I went into Kim nails to get one of my nails fixed because I accidentally broke it and I asked the lady if she could do a nude ombre like the rest of my nails. The lady said she could do it and then she gave me a giant French tip. I told her this isn't what I asked for and she kept insisting it was ombré so I politely asked her to take it off because I didn't want to walk around with a nail that didn't match my set and the lady( I didn't get her name) yelled at me to get out of the nail salon and kept on yelling at me and refused to take my nail off. Well hello COVID-19 Kim nails!!! They've been reopened for about a week now and yesterday was my first time back for a gel mani / pedi. Wow! All I can say. I was asked to wait outside when I showed up, then brought in an handed a squirt of sanitizer upon entry. Temp was taken, filled out my waiver and on to my pedi station. Partitions placed between every seat for customers safety. The manicure stations were sectioned off the same, including a partition between you and the nail tech. I've been coming to Kim nails for at least 7 years and they've always been the best.... and believe me I've tried others at times when they've been too busy. Never felt they were skimping on cleanliness before and it certainly backs this with the measures they've taken to protect customers and themselves. I wish I took a picture of how they've improved everything, you'll only have my awesome mani to admire. They are taking appts only now but I asked if they'd accept walk ins and they all told me it depends on flow at the time (not allowing more than 5 customers at a time, with 5 techs). No more mani/pedi at the same time cause of safety, so plan on spending a little extra time there. Temporarily CASH only cause they said their machine wasn't working. I'd hate to admit, but during this pandemic I've signed up for an "illegal" pedi at a different salon cause I was told appt only, just me and the tech no one else all in masks..... only to walk in to two techs working on 2 customers with 2 people waiting and then myself. Mind you customers weren't wearing masks and looking at me like I was the crazy one. Wasn't worth it to me to stick around. Kim's though is on top of it and taking this seriously. If you don't have a mask don't bother coming in, signs posted everywhere that you can't come in without one and they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. All these years I've never requested a tech, they are all fantastic and have never had a bad service. They are always so friendly and welcoming when I come in. Love this place! read more

I usually get really friendly courteous fast service here but today when I walked in at 12:15 PM they weren't really that busy I get it it's a Friday afternoon and you probably do receive a lot of customers early in the day as well as throughout as well however this wasn't the case I walked in and asked for a pedicure I'm not sure what language was spoken. I was told to come back at 4:00 PM Mind you there where plenty of able workers and chairs open but I honestly felt I wouldn't say discriminated against because maybe that's the wrong word I don't know if it was because of how I look or whatever but I didn't feel very welcomed and I will not be returning here if I can offer any advice it would be to maybe have a customer service training and maybe someone come in and re-decorate this run down looking establishment.
