The health dept would not approve this! 6.18.25

6.18.25 Well I am now positive they are not the same owners as before. I came in to get take out. One couple were eating when o came in. I placed my order and had to repeat my order 3 times. I waited for about 15 minutes and my order came out except for my avocado smoothie. I had to tell them twice I did not get my smoothie. I had to wait for lady to make it and it was the worst smoothie I have ever had. I mean EVER! It tasted like a piece of cardboard. Even my husband would not drink it. The grilled pork was not good either. It was paper thin and had no flavor. No char-grilled marks like before. The vegetables on my vermicelli dish were like a dirty sock. I did not eat them. I ended up throwing most of my order in the trash. As I was waiting I noticed 2 tables towards the restroom that had so much "junk" on them. I began to worry about my dinner choice. (See photo) If this is what they have in the dining area I DON'T want to imagine areas that I cannot see. (I should have listened to my "little" voice and cancelled my order and left) Sad to say after eating at Kim Pho Grill for years and years; I will NOT be returning here.

Came in for a late lunch during the week. Place was empty. We were greeted immediately. Service was fast. Portions are large and food was tasty.

Kim's Pho & Grill is a tucked away Gem on the Northside of town. One of the best Pho joints I have eaten at on this side of town. I ordered the Spicy Beef Pho and it did not disappoint. Slow roasted beef with a rich red deeply flavored broth, to which I guarantee took a day to cook. Service was great as well. Was greeted by a very small woman with a huge personality and an even bigger smile. She made me feel right at home and was so delightful. I will be back!

I love a good spicy pho with noodles and beef! Of late, I have been putting together a list of all the places I have visited and enjoyed. I've been to a few places before trying Kim's, but she's undoubtedly my number one after coming here. She also took the time to ask about the other foods I like in Vietnamese culture. She begin to explain this sauces is better with this type of pho or used this spread on certain sandwiches. I learned about the difference in Milk Teas, too. But she introduced me to the pork spring roll; it was so good, with the right texture, and the bite was easy, with no pulling. The pork and veggies were plentiful. It's by far my favorite spring roll now. Oh one more thing that's so important, she told me I could always request my meat cooked when I'm doing a take out order. I appreciate that so much because I feel like I overcooked the meat because I don't know what I'm doing. So stop in at Kim's, it's such a cute place and get you a lesson in Vietnamese food, too.

This is what I did not get.

The food does not match what you order. I ordered the special chicken teriyaki and once home it looked nothing like to advertised picture. In fact it was dried chicken chunks and nothing near what I ordered. I was not happy after I drove over there to pick it up and was very disappointed with the final product.

Someone on yelp told me about the spot and I'm glad I gave them a try. Anytime a restaurant goes out of their way and has something like a drive-through that is an automatic win in my book. You can simply call in your order pick it up in the drive-through and go about your business. I got a deal on door dash so I use my 40% off coupon to try them out. Let me tell you it was worth it. Food: I got the grilled pork with egg and eggrolls. The Vietnamese eggrolls are probably my favorite. They were so fresh and grilled to perfection. They were absolutely amazing. The grilled pork was very good and very fresh but it was not like your typical charbroiled Vietnamese party fine at most to some restaurants. It was thinly slice but it was good and it's on right. Just not what I'm used to getting from Vietnamese restaurants. The rice was good, the egg was good,. I was very happy with the food. The people that work there are extremely nice and very friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and they make sure they take care of your meal exactly like you ordered it. This is a hidden gem. I will definitely go back. Good job guys.

Haven't been back to Kim's in too long and I was glad to be back - never had a mediocre thing here! We picked up some banh mi sandwiches, as well as the pork and the chicken spring rolls, and topped it off with two smoothies - honeydew and avocado (don't knock it 'til you try it!). Kim's beats out the nearby competition for Vietnamese cuisine on account of using super fresh ingredients, friendly and prompt service, and a tremendous value. The bread they use is insanely good. The pork, chicken, and beef were all tender, gristle-free cuts. And that peanut sauce for the spring rolls is super addictive! You'd be hard-pressed to find a fresher, tastier meal from a local spot for the price.

All I can say is just get here. Long overdue review. I've randomly hit this place up over time & it's never failed me. The service is always quick & the owner is so sweet. I've had a good portion of the menu & always been satisfied. Fresh ingredients, portions nice, not overpriced & most importantly tasty tasty. Usually do the drive thru, but the times I've gone inside it's been very clean. My recent visit was on my way home after a crazy & stressful day. The owner looked tired as well, but was very cordial. I made it to the drive thru about 15 minutes before closing. I ordered grilled pork banh mi, eggrolls & small pho. It didn't take long to come out. When she gave my order she smiled, said enjoy the food & get rest. I said the same to her. By the time I made it to the crib, my order was just as fresh as if I'd ordered during lunch or so. No skimping or cold broth for pho, banh mi wasn't filled with scraps, eggrolls freshly cooked. Again, I barely made closing time & we know how some places can be when they're ready to shut it down for the day. I love local/small/family businesses like these. It makes you come back over & over. Be nice to people & you get it in return. Check this place out if you're in the area. Yelp on my friends!

Chicken Vermicelli and Shrimp Spring Rolls

I just didn't like the way the food is set. I really was expecting this place to be a new go to Vietnamese place for me. The guy I spoke with there was very nice when I came in to pick up my order so my review has no problem on the location (cool) decor (great and has a cooling feel) or staff (polite). But the food just didn't do it for me. The shrimp spring roll has way too much lettuce and was cut too big. It also tasted to have too much bean sprouts. I ordered the vermicelli chicken plate. I hate to sound overly picky or down on a place with such a nice feel and staff. The chicken was cool, no highlight or complaints. The vermicelli felt too big on the plate which I feel sounds picky but it's how it felt lol and like it was meant for soup in texture. The salad of lettuce and carrots again felt cut up too big to eat and too much on my plate. The strawberry tea I had was definitely solid. Chicken vermicelli with shrimp spring rolls is my favorite at Vietnamese restaurants so the fact this fell in so many aspects was a let down to me. I had to actually force myself to finish the plate which isn't a normal thing for me.

The filling is placed in a pan and then a thin layer of batter made with tumeric and coconut milk yellow batter is poured on top. You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. My favorite appetizers (in order): Banh beo chen, Banh ram it, banh bot loc, egg rolls, crystal dumplings. Personally I wasn't a fan of the paste-y texture of the banh nam but that is a personal preference! Service is not the most hospitable but very quick. We were reseated after spotting a cockroach under our table. But even so I would come back to have this amazing food any day.

Came in to eat on a Saturday night around 8PM. They take walk ins, but we made reservations and I…read moream so glad we did. Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.

We got there 15 minutes before to make sure we could find parking. They have a small lot but all the spaces were taken despite being before 6 pm on a weekday. And a few spots had noticeable broken glass so be careful. We fortunately found street parking close by; double checked the signs because I ain't getting towed for nothing. Then I double checked inside with staff to make sure where I parked was ok. On to the food: we got several happy hour appetizer items: soy garlic wings, Brussels sprouts, bao bun, roasted oysters. All was good but not amazing. I then ordered the pho tai chinh for myself - I was quite impressed with the portions and the price! Wifey got the lemongrass pork banh mi - good but not amazing. Overall I would say the food taste and portions were good, but note this is elevated Asian cuisine, so it'll run you $20-$30 minimum. Now the service - definitely super friendly staff. It was our first time there so maybe they brought out the extra friendliness. Even the chef came out and greeted us to make sure we liked the food. Waitress was very kind and checked on our table a LOT. Almost too much. Overall a good experience, yummy food, not a fan of the parking (a common problem in the Heights), and expensive for Asian food but that's expected. Enjoy!

It comes in a set of 2 but we got a 3 pack! I ordered the grilled branzino and let me tell you! That chimichurri sauce !! Clutch! It is demonetisation and truly grilled to perfection. My friends ordered the filet mignon and the chicken and they were equally as impressed! I ordered the espresso mousse for dessert which comes out in the shape of a coffee bean. Cuteeee and perfect! This place didn't disappoint and it is a must visit.

This is a higher end fine dining restaurant so you should expect the portion sizes and price to be pretty comparable to a lot of other finer dining restaurants. Overall the food's flavor was fantastic. I ordered the king salmon clay pot. I thought the salmon was so tasty! They added pepper and sauce to the salmon - It was tender and flavorful and paired nicely with white rice. The quail (not pictured below) also was super flavorful and was cooked so well it tasted like beef. The soup was also light and refreshing, similar to a west lake soup. It was thicker consistency and had cilantro and chucks of lobster. The drinks served were also super balanced. We ordered the mojito and the dragon fruit cocktail. The mojito was the right balance between minty and sweet with just a hint of alcohol flavor. For the dragon fruit cocktail, it was very fruity, on the sweeter side but not overpowering and was topped with egg whites to give it a little bit of frothiness. I will say, we are slightly underdressed to enter this establishment. Everything seemed so luxurious and many people were in formal business wear! Keep this in mind if you go! There is a parking deck right next to the location as well, both self parking and valet!
