The restaurant is small and there is never a lunch rush but I would think it would have more because of the prices and how it feels like my mom made me a bowl of food. In the past I've had the bun bo hue and this meal I had the Bo kho. It tastes like what I would get in Vietnam or from Alief area. If you need authentic Vietnamese in the NW area definitely give Kim's a visit! My friend had the lunch vermicelli bowl and he said it's the best in the area. I waited for about 15 minutes and my order came out except for my avocado smoothie. I had to tell them twice I did not get my smoothie. I had to wait for lady to make it and it was the worst smoothie I have ever had. I mean EVER! It tasted like a piece of cardboard. Even my husband would not drink it. The grilled pork was not good either. It was paper thin and had no flavor. No char-grilled marks like before. The vegetables on my vermicelli dish were like a dirty sock. I did not eat them. Slow roasted beef with a rich red deeply flavored broth, to which I guarantee took a day to cook. Service was great as well. I pulled up and there was only 1 person in there. I sat down , ordered spring rolls , Brisket & Rare Steak Pho and a Dr. Pepper. The spring rolls came out like in 10minutes after ordered , if you are familiar with this type of food it doesn't take long to make (no one was in there & the phone was NOT ringing of the hook). They tasted HORRIBLE- the look alone was questionable. I took a bite and couldn't force myself to eat more. The PHO never came, 25mins I sat there alone (after that 1 guy left) and nothing. I walked up to the counter to cancel and the older woman said "took too long" & I said yes. I asked to pay for what I ordered but she declined which lets me know she KNEW service could have been faster especially being that it was not busy at all. I love a good spicy pho with noodles and beef! Of late, I have been putting together a list of all the places I have visited and enjoyed. I've been to a few places before trying Kim's, but she's undoubtedly my number one after coming here. She also took the time to ask about the other foods I like in Vietnamese culture. She begin to explain this sauces is better with this type of pho or used this spread on certain sandwiches. I learned about the difference in Milk Teas, too. But she introduced me to the pork spring roll; it was so good, with the right texture, and the bite was easy, with no pulling. The pork and veggies were plentiful. It's by far my favorite spring roll now. Oh one more thing that's so important, she told me I could always request my meat cooked when I'm doing a take out order. I appreciate that so much because I feel like I overcooked the meat because I don't know what I'm doing. You can simply call in your order pick it up in the drive-through and go about your business. I got a deal on door dash so I use my 40% off coupon to try them out. Let me tell you it was worth it. Food: I got the grilled pork with egg and eggrolls. The Vietnamese eggrolls are probably my favorite. They were so fresh and grilled to perfection. They were absolutely amazing. The grilled pork was very good and very fresh but it was not like your typical charbroiled Vietnamese party fine at most to some restaurants. It was thinly slice but it was good and it's on right. Just not what I'm used to getting from Vietnamese restaurants. The rice was good, the egg was good,. I was very happy with the food. The people that work there are extremely nice and very friendly. Haven't been back to Kim's in too long and I was glad to be back - never had a mediocre thing here! We picked up some banh mi sandwiches, as well as the pork and the chicken spring rolls, and topped it off with two smoothies - honeydew and avocado (don't knock it 'til you try it!). Kim's beats out the nearby competition for Vietnamese cuisine on account of using super fresh ingredients, friendly and prompt service, and a tremendous value. The bread they use is insanely good. The pork, chicken, and beef were all tender, gristle-free cuts. And that peanut sauce for the spring rolls is super addictive! I've been many times for lunch during the work week. Today's order of "orange juice" resulted in my colleague getting carrot juice. Sometimes all you can do is laugh-Kim's is not for the fussy diner who wants everything perfect every time. The staff is always courteous. Today we got a free egg roll accidentally when an order was confused. Not intentional or necessary but I find that Kim's team does want diners to be happy. Restaurant is comfortable and clean like your grandma's dining room. I will be back. I recommend the pork banh mi with the added egg. All I can say is just get here. Long overdue review. I've randomly hit this place up over time & it's never failed me. The service is always quick & the owner is so sweet. I've had a good portion of the menu & always been satisfied. Fresh ingredients, portions nice, not overpriced & most importantly tasty tasty. Usually do the drive thru, but the times I've gone inside it's been very clean. My recent visit was on my way home after a crazy & stressful day. The owner looked tired as well, but was very cordial. I made it to the drive thru about 15 minutes before closing. I ordered grilled pork banh mi, eggrolls & small pho. It didn't take long to come out. When she gave my order she smiled, said enjoy the food & get rest. I said the same to her. By the time I made it to the crib, my order was just as fresh as if I'd ordered during lunch or so. No skimping or cold broth for pho, banh mi wasn't filled with scraps, eggrolls freshly cooked. First time visitors, Tuesday around 5:30 pm. First impression was that it was a Nice, clean restaurant with a drive-through option and very busy to go orders. Our waitress was new (you could tell) but very nice. The owners are what sold this place. I love the ratio of the ingredients in how this was wrapped, not too much cilantro or lettuce to overpower And give it that soapy flavor that some places do. It was served with 2 separate peanut sauces and to me this was specially nice since he likes Sriracha in his peanut sauce and I don't so this was perfect! 5 stars A5 - 4 crispy Vietnamese egg rolls served with the traditional dipping sauce and the lettuce leaves and cilantro springs to roll and dip. Again, 2 individual dipping sauces. The filling was spot on, the crispy,flaky, texture and "crunch" were on point! 5 stars P10 - At the suggestion of the owner (lady) I went with the traditional version with the pork feet (yup I said it) it was really really good, still came with beef but also the pork. 4 stars P18- Pho with rare beef and meatballs. The broth is everything! With it just like that it was delicious. I just didn't like the way the food is set. I really was expecting this place to be a new go to Vietnamese place for me. The guy I spoke with there was very nice when I came in to pick up my order so my review has no problem on the location (cool) decor (great and has a cooling feel) or staff (polite). But the food just didn't do it for me. The shrimp spring roll has way too much lettuce and was cut too big. It also tasted to have too much bean sprouts. I ordered the vermicelli chicken plate. I hate to sound overly picky or down on a place with such a nice feel and staff. The chicken was cool, no highlight or complaints. The vermicelli felt too big on the plate which I feel sounds picky but it's how it felt lol and like it was meant for soup in texture. The salad of lettuce and carrots again felt cut up too big to eat and too much on my plate. The strawberry tea I had was definitely solid. Chicken vermicelli with shrimp spring rolls is my favorite at Vietnamese restaurants so the fact this fell in so many aspects was a let down to me. Despite the food experience, her service was 5 star worthy so I tipped her! Egg rolls came out surprisingly very quick - like within 4 minutes- but they were luke warm (she apologized and replaced them very quickly) Pho- they forgot the brisket (she apologized brought it out in a separate bowl quickly). The brisket she brought out did not look any different from the rare beef. Broth was odd looking, like it was day old broth. Also, unfortunately there was a hair in my food. Kim's Pho & Grill is so very close to my hotel, whenever I get that SUDDEN craving for Vietnamese food, I don't even need to Yelp it (and THAT is a SIN in the Yelp community)! The pho is delicious - a whole hearty broth, soft and delicious noodles, and excellent textured meat (I'm talking beef balls, rare sliced beef, tripe, etc). The banh mi sandwiches were also wonderfully created with crunchy pickled vegetables that are essentially the star on top of the banh mi Christmas tree. And the NUMBER ONE reason Kim's Pho & Grill grabbed that 5 star from me? Their fresh avocado smoothie! Even in California, most of the restaurants don't use fresh avocados in their blend (usually a powder, loads of ice, or other non-fresh ingredients). Oh, and here's the kicker - if you're in a rush, call ahead of time, place an order, and DON'T EVEN LEAVE YOUR CAR! What do I mean? There's a DRIVE THRU! Yes, that's right. Drive thru. Always a great option for when I come visit my parents in the area. Pork rice and the bun bo hue is great, but don't get the bo luc lac. Meat is very chewy and not very flavorful. Pork in the rice place on the other hand is moist and flavorful.
