Very interesting choices. Small menu but everything stands out The risotto was way too salty. Everything else was interesting and pretty good

Always amazing food. Great location attached to Maria's. One stop shop. Friendly services and solid prices for what you get.

Ordered the prettiest entree here and it tasted great. Not sure if I've had a salmon rice bowl served with cream cheese but it works! Reminds me of a philly roll

It's been a few years since I've returned to Kimski but I came specifically to eat the food hearing about the chef's fresh Pov. It was quite lovely and I could feel the fresh realness even in the kimchi. So much love in every bite, I can't wait to come back to try all the other dishes.

I've been to Maria's plenty of times and enjoy it for the most part. This time I was so hungry when my friend and I joined and I decided to get off the Kimski menu and as a vegetarian my options were a little limited but I got the pierogis and an order of basic fries. My order was $26. I thought that was insane, considering the portions were not that big. I also waited 25 min for my order and people who ordered well after me got food first. I'll also mention, the setup is weird because i had to leave the bar to go inside to order to come back into the bar to pickup at the back door. While that's not really the end of the world, it would have been nice to have it clear on where to order. I stood at the back door for a solid 10 min before I went to the front doorman of the bar and asked them what the process was. Needless to say, I'll be eating before I come to Maria's next time. (Bring back PFCI or Herbivore please!)

Flavor of the food was ok. Nothing to rave nor complain about. I'm not the foremost expert on Korean food nor Korean fusion but nothing warranted a return here for me. The vibes were the best part especially when you walk into the bar or onto the patio. Gotta say I love the people of Bridgeport. The noodles had a weird ingredient atop them that had a sour flavor. The salmon bowl was ok & the cream addition to the rice was a welcome surprise. The salmon was slightly warm so be aware of that. I'm slightly interested in the fried but I wouldn't make a special trip solely for them.

This place is great! Fusion Korean Polish food. The dishes are artistic and tasty and affordable. The food fills you up and you will have leftovers. The dishes are artfully done also. You can sit at the seats at both Kimski and Maria's which is a cool bar that looks like a tiki bar...really nice to have during winter when you wish you were enjoying the summer heat with cold drinks. There is also outdoor seating. The drinks at Maria's are beautiful and well crafted and has plenty of alcohol. Won, the owner was really friendly and personable and spoke w us and joked with us. He's funny and entertaining w his humor. He is the kind of guy you would enjoy hanging out with at your table to enjoy good food with drinks and conversation. Paige is great too! She is really sweet and helps explain the menu and super personable also. This is a fun place to eat and lounge at with friends. It has an excellent ambiance w nice music and a TV video screen to watch a movie in the background. We were super relaxed and loved soaking up the chill atmosphere and vibe and staff.

The food is so delicious, the service is awesome, and it's such a classically Chicago place. It's a laid back but confident vibe. This is an awesome place to hang, eat, have a drink, or have a date. I could eat the bulgogi cheese steak every day and not get tired of it, and they have a cool selection of bourbons.

    Fries are awesome!

Finally got around to trying this place out! Kimski has done a great job amidst COVID, the side and back patio offer lots of seating, tables will seat 4, and the communal seating will seat larger parties! There are umbrellas available for tables to block the sun which is helpful for the hot and sunny Chicago days! Ordered the KoPo Beef and Maria's Standard along with beers: MARZ Jungle Boogie and Astronaut Juice! The KoPo Beef was very delicious, the meat was juicy with bits of fatty pieces and lean pieces! Everything was sandwiched together by this nicely toasted White Texas Toast type of bread! The fried that accompany this sandwich were perfectly crispy and flavorful! I added a sunny side up egg on my sandwich just to take it to another level! The Maria's Standard was yummy, but also just quite standard. The polish sausage had expected flavor and the pickled veggies on top was a nice touch, but I wish there was more of it to be eaten with bites of the sausage. The beers were awesome and really refreshing!

Then I saw the KBBQ menu and all bets were off. I immediately pivoted and ordered the chef's tasting set, the Diweji, featuring pork jowl, pork collar, and pork belly, complete with an assortment of banchan. Zero regrets. And here's the part that should tell you everything you need to know: I am a certified radish hater. I avoid it whenever possible. Yet somehow, I found myself repeatedly reaching for the radish banchan and asking for more. Even the soup - which also featured radish - was absolutely delicious. If Perilla can convert someone who actively dislikes radish into a fan for one meal, that's saying something. The soju was exactly what I wanted with Korean barbecue: crisp, clean, and refreshing. I appreciate that it was neutral rather than overly sweet. The flavored, sweeter versions aren't really my thing unless the food is setting my mouth on fire. Speaking of spice, the wings were good: juicy, well-executed, and satisfying but I kept wishing they packed a little more heat. They weren't spicy at all, and a bigger kick would have taken them from very good to unforgettable. As for the meats, the pork jowl was gloriously rich and fatty, exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The pork collar ended up being my favorite: flavorful, tender, and with just the right balance of meat and fat. The pork belly was comforting and familiar - the classic KBBQ staple done well, with beautifully rendered edges and that indulgent quality that makes it a crowd-pleaser for a reason. The set also came with potatoes that were unexpectedly delicious. My only complaint? It was far too much food for one person. The service deserves its own mention. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The entire meal was delivered with efficiency and a smile, making a solo diner feel completely comfortable lingering and enjoying the experience. What I thought would be a quick happy hour stop turned into one of my favorite meals.

We ordered a seafood soup, seafood pancake, and a salmon crunch roll. We quickly realized that this was an atypical Korean restaurant experience as we did not receive banchan and there were not many traditional options on the menu. I think that should've been our cue to go, but we stayed and were very disappointed. The service was extremely slow. We had to ask multiple times when it was coming, and when the food finally came out, it was underseasoned and the texture was very off. The seafood pancake tasted deep fried and had chunks of imitation crab. It had the texture of an unrisen focaccia. The soup was tasteless, and the salmon roll was drenched in mayo and eel sauce. They also gave us a "special" hot sauce that tasted like just a mix of sriracha and Tabasco. Small highlights: the ambiance was nice; it seemed clean. Waiter was nice enough. I hate giving bad reviews, but this was quite a shocking meal.

There was a decent amount of meat in both soups. I especially loved the larger ox tail pieces because they had even more flavor. Our soups also came with two kinds of kimchi--radish and napa cabbage. Perilla is a tastefully decorated restaurant, both loungey and rich, but still makes you feel like the joint is all for you. You know, 5 star service is such a lost art, it makes you forget how much you miss it when all of a sudden it happens to be right in front of you. Ricardo, our bartender, what a gem. Forget about the perfectly made drinks that were served to us. Ricardo made us feel right at home with his kind disposition and friendly demeanor. But it doesn't just stop at Ricardo. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well. They were not extra or over the top in anyway. But you can tell when something is done well and correctly, just like these fries were. The Premium Steakhouse Set, in my opinion, is all two people need to enjoy this very special experience. All the accompanying condiments were exceptional on their own and could have functioned as their own course. The Japchae glass noodles were a stunner. The real sleeper was the chopped lettuce greens tossed in their chili vinaigrette. Could have eaten 20 bowls of those lettuce greens. Sadly, I forgot the name of our server who cooked and cut our meat for us. She really added to the experience. She expertly prepared our food while maintaining a fun and pleasant conversation with us. The meat itself, my goodness, tender, smoky, quality-forward, and perfect served with the condiments.
