Went there for Mother's Day this year. As expected, the wait was about an hour since we didn't reserve online (didn't even think this place was on Open Table!). I ordered the birria chilaquiles which were just ok, the meat was a bit on the bland side, which is the opposite of what a good birria should be. When I asked our waitress if I could have cheese on mine (as it doesn't come with cheese or eggs for that matter) she said that they couldn't make that adjustment because they were too busy & the kitchen didn't like to have any changes to a plate (REALLY???? they know 365 beforehand that Mother's Day will be busy, so they should be prepared for the high volume of customers) I didn't insist and added eggs to my order (be prepared to pay $4.00 extra for two eggs). What I found funny was my beans came with cheese...really, they couldn't have just tossed some over my chilaquiles!‍. My sister liked her poblano chilaquiles, which were good and mom had mole enchiladas, which she enjoyed. But the overall star of the meal were the strawberry pancakes we got for dessert! They were absolutely delicious! They came with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and a side of strawberry sauce (more of a coulis sauce) that tasted homemade. We didn't even ask for syrup, that's how good they were (reminded us of true Mexican pancakes...IYKYK). In spite of the businesses of the day, our waitress was attentive and nice. I'll go back, but will try something else and definitely get the pancakes for dessert! Another note to be aware of, they don't have a waiting area, so if someone in your party can't stand for long periods, like my mom, take that into consideration before going on a busy day (like Mother's Day). When we did ask, the guy taking down the reservations said "you can wait in the car" with a bit of nastiness and smirk...unnecessary attitude. He might have not meant it that way since they do text when your reservation is ready, but he needs to work on sounding like an a-hole and could have said "I'm soo sorry we do not, but please feel free to wait in your car since we will text when your reservation is ready" in a compassionate tone, or something to that extent. I usually don't like Mexican red rice at restaurants because it's often bland but theirs was actually really flavorful and I really enjoyed it. I knew my chilaquiles came with chicken but I added a side of cecina and that ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal because it was so good and I left completely stuffed. I really want to go back to try their sweet breakfast items because everything looked amazing but I was too full this time. The inside is also so beautiful and decorated really thoughtfully and I loved seeing all the corazones sagrados everywhere which was my favorite detail and the ceiling painting was stunning. The menu is very extensive, including 10+ chilaquiles options! We shared the chilaquiles rojos and the enchiladas catedral. Both were actually pretty spicy! The enchiladas catedral were really good and had great flavor, I was able to push through the spice and really enjoyed the dish. The chilaquiles were nice and crispy, the rojos salsa was a little vinegary, but still enjoyable. I would want to try another sauce next time, less spicy for sure. The chips were broken into smaller pieces and well covered in the sauce and the egg was thinly scrambled and mixed throughout. We paid at the register on our way out. we came here at around 1pm on a saturday afternoon as a party of 2 and had to join the waitlist, and it only took about ~10 minutes for us to be seated. they have a large menu with various options ranging from many different yummy sounding chilaquiles variations to sweeter options like waffles and pancakes to burritos. the decor is also very appropriate for a cafe called la catedral. i got the alambre and my date got the chilaquiles verdes. we also got the horchata con fresa and the regular horchata, and both were delicious. the horchata con fresa was so sweet and pretty pink, and tasted just like nesquick strawberry milk. the food came out quickly to the delight of our hungry bellies lol. the alambre was so yummy, it would be great food for a hangover, it's fried bacon, sausage, and steak bits with jalapeños and bell peppers and melted cheese on top. the beans and rice were yummy on the side too! super fluffy rice. the chilaquiles con verdes was a favorite of my date's, he said that the salsa verde they make is perfect and the perfect spice level. i had a taste and it was super delicious, no complaints there. i definitely want to try the birriaquiles next time! overall i was super super satisfied with this mexican breakfast, which my date said is the utmost traditional mexican breakfset spot in the area, and i can understand its popularity after trying it. read more

Place was packed from bottom to top and use the "waitlist" in advance, service was good, iced and hot coffee was good, juices were a pleasant surprise! This place makes me sick, They have money in gods statues ,I'm fully Italian and I think this place is just messed up.. I ordered food to go and when I went to pick it up they told me another 10 minutes and the food was behind them. Their specialty is their Chilaquiles. Soooo that's what we ordered. The chilaquiles verde & It came with refried beans. The Mrs. had a café de olla chico and I had a Grande Chocolate Abuelita! They both came with a waffer. My wife said her café was a 3/10 it was to sweet for her liking. I didn't have any but I like a sweet coffee so it could be better to me. My hot chocolate was great. Different from the normal hot chocolate. It has a spice of some cinnamon. Very good. 8.2/10 The chilaquiles was the reason we was there. The potions are most definitely a bang for your buck. The chilaquiles is very saucy with a verde sauce that has a nice kick to it. The tortillas had a nice texture of crunchy & smothered. Very good flavor.
