I am going to start by saying I am super disappointed with this practice. I paid 4K up front to this office to help with my 12 year old fix his teeth. The treatment included the 3 step retainers K1, K2 and K3 this are not custom retainers they are one fits all. My son was not able to retain them in his mouth during his sleep and lost them or the dog ate them, however I purchased 3 or 4 retainers at an additional $150.00 they will not tell you that you can purchase this on line for $60 and maybe save you some money (like I said they are not custom made) After tired of purchasing I called the office and they suggested maybe cementing this to his mouth. I wanted to wait and give him another chance. In December I called to discuss the procedure and left a voice mail that was never returned. I took my son to an orthodontist for a 2nd opinion and he said it was more than just retainers. When I called again to Kinard to ask them for a print out of the charges and procedures they got apprehensive about me not wanting to proceed with their practice. I paid Kinard for a consultation, 2 appointments and 2 retainers. Its a bit pricey! With the current orthodontist I pay as I go and I see the work. Be careful about paying this practice upfront for work not done yet. I think I am owed a refund. read more

Since starting my daughter's treatment, I have seen a HUGE improvement in her sleep quality and mouth breathing. Dr kinard and her staff have always been available to answer any question or concerns we have and offer several financing options for treatment. less than one. Take me off you email and mailing list one and for all. What does it take to be removed. Dr Kinard completely messed up my upper cuspid through cuspid. I requested full upper crowns with no shadow. She did veneers with shadow. I absolutely hate them. She also thru off my bite. I was Class 1 on the right and slightly Class 3 on the left. I have a floating bite since she replaced my back 1st and 2nd crowns. I'm still waiting for a decision from Delta Dental KY to have them replaced by a real dentist. She charged me and Delta dental build up on each existing crown replacement. All she did was cut off the old crown and replaced with the new. No build up. The existing crowns were fine. No leakage or restoration was needed. No permanent cement was placed either. All were temporary settings. I had to appeal to Delta Dental to use a properly trained dentist to permanently set them. I worked in the dental field for years. She upgraded and purchased too much new equipment. Dr Kinard is nothing but a money seeking hack. She oversold and scammed her patients with great insurance to fund her upgrades and purchase price of the practice. Especially the Toyota employee patients. I sincerely hope that she is no longer in network with Delta Dental KY for Toyota. I will continue to appeal to Delta Dental along with many other very disappointed, angry patient of Dr Donna Gottweld. Dental is an art not a moneymaking scam. My last appointment with her I scheduled and informed that my replacement crown wasn't created correctly by the lab. It has an unpolished mold line down the center. The Dr didn't bother to check. A chair side assistant informed me all was correct. I didn't schedule my appointment with an assistant. The insurance and I paid for an appointment with a certified dentist. She must have hacked her way through dental school. When i complained about the shadow on veneers I was told that's what the Dr thought was the best plan no appointment could be scheduled to change them or have a discussion with the Dr., and I use the term loosely. They look dirty, stained. I'm embarrassed to smile. It wasn't what we discussed when impression's we taken snd temporaries placed. The molded were sent to the lab. The order should have been bleach color. No shadow. Full crown. Her price at the lab is much less for veneers than the lab fee for full crown or 3/4 crowns. Hopefully she has all her new technology paid in full at the grief of Dr. Donna Gottweld's patients. A trusted dentist. read more

What can I say about this place other than AMAZING! We all have anxiety/nervousness about seeing a Dentist. Let me tell you about THIS place! From the MOMENT you walk in the door the staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Once you go back to the hygienist it just gets better if you can believe that! They walk you step by step on the procedure they are going to do and check frequently to make sure you are ok and at ease. THEN THE AMAZING FINALE. I was previlaged to meet Dr. Kinard and I have to tell you she was above measure. Not only was she welcoming but she took her time to explain EVERYTHING to me. They have horrible customer service. They are extremely expensive.After Dr. Gotwald sold this place to Kinard, she managed to be kicked out of every insurance network. Don't let their what so called office manager fool you to pay upfront, she claims the insurance will send the patient a check faster than paying the dentist, it is a flat out lie. I cut them when my husband agrees to do so, after two months I was informed by our insurance that they were paid electronically within 2 days of submitting the claim. It will take more than 2 months to take the money they steal to be refunded. In addition, I requested several times to speak to Kinard and she was no where to be found. She goes to the practice once a week. Check with your insurance first before you go there. All the facts mentioned above are supported by documents from insurance, credit card statements and the billing statements. read more

We are new to the greater San Antonio area and have found an excellent dental office in DG Family Dentistry in Helotes. Wifey went there to remedy a problem with her bridge and found that she needed some serious work performed. This was not a surprise given her last visit at our dentist's office in Houston. The staff at DG was very receptive as soon as we walked into the office. After she completed the examination, Dr. Kinard explained the proposed procedure to install implants and crowns. Sam, Appointments and Finance person, worked closely with us to create a plan for appointments and described the costs involved. The plan was made with our best interests considered. The office offers a great interest free payment program for qualified patients. The entire practice is very well organized, professional, and courteous. The office is located in a large single story building with plenty of parking. We feel very confident that we have found an exceptionally good family dentistry practice with DG. read more

Absolutely love this place. Ya, it's a dental office but if you must go to the dentist, this is the one to go to. The location is super convenient, the staff is professional and friendly, and Dr. Kinard is so gentle. They do a great job making you feel comfortable. I felt like family when I walked in the front door, greeted so warmly. They offered me a drink when I arrived and headphones to drown out the sounds during my procedure. I love that they have specialists that come to the office, it's much more convenient than driving all over town when you need a specialty dentist. read more

Horrible place, a great Doctor has the understanding of quality care and also the financial plan. These two things go hand in hand and determine whether or not you want to have service here. My experience here was great at first, came in for a estimate, then after service was done the initial price quoted went up 300$. Love the staff and the Dr's. Today's visit was great. I saw two Drs in short amount of time as a follow-up to a root canal and new crown. The visit was great, everyone was super friendly, especially Christie and Sam as well as the two Drs. Loretta and Dr K's personal assistant were also great. I come all the way from New Braunfels, we recently moved from 1604 and Bandera Rd to NB, to have my dental work done here because most everyone is so great and easy to deal with. The office was clean as usual and my wait time was minimal. I highly recommend this practice and my family members, wife, daughter, and sometimes my son, use this practice for our dental work. Again, I highly Dr K, Dr Gottwald, Dr Spruell and most of the staff. Most of the staff are great except there are a few people on the staff that I normally do not like to deal with. However, Sam and Christie are usually able to take care of all my scheduling and insurance needs. I use two dental insurance for coverage and appreciate their office (Dr K, Christie & Sam) working through the complicity of that along with my other dental providers that I use. Again, I highly recommend this practice or wouldn't drive 40 miles each way to see them each time to mave my work done there. I hope this review his helpful to others. read more

Dr Kinard became my dentist when Dr Gottwald retired. There are 2 other Dentist at this practice also. The dentists are excellent and efficient, as are the hygienists (Ask for Karen or Simone!). However, I can't tolerate the excessive wait times. A few weeks ago I waited 45 minutes for my appointment. Just yesterday I waited 23 minutes before I finally gave up and left. They are either over scheduling or they are understaffed. Either way, my time is worth just as much as theirs. I expect an appointment time to be the actual appointment time, not a rough estimate or approximation of when they might be able to see me. If you have a lot of free time, this would be an excellent dentist. If you have a tight schedule, probably not your best choice. read more

Fantastic experience! I have VERY high expectations for my dental care and have always had top-notch dentists. My experience at D&G dental ranks among the best of the best. After recently relocating to San Antonio, I was extremely apprehensive to "blindly" and randomly find a new dentist. Honestly, I don't think I could have found a better dental practice! Everyone, including the office staff, hygienist, and dentist were extremely professional, caring, and compassionate. The office and equipment is very modern and clean. Scheduling and insurance billing were hassle-free. The staff seemed genuinely concerned about my comfort and health. I felt like I received an honest and comprehensive examination. I'm very happy with my new hygienist and dentist and will definitely be a returning patient. Just an update... After 20 years without dental care because of a deep-rooted fear of dentistry from childhood, my husband went in for an exam and cleaning. Although he had major anxiety and some discomfort because of the nature of the treatment, the hygienist and dentist both made him feel as comfortable as possible and throughly explained what treatments he needed and why they are important to his health. I won't say that he enjoys going to the dentist, but this practice DEFINITELY calmed his fears and have helped him to establish a future treatment plan and a positive attitude towards future preventive care. He will be having four wisdom teeth removed and a root canal/crown in the very near future. I'll update then. read more
