Its very difficult to move a parent knowing, for his own safety, he couldn't have visitors for a while...the caregivers and leadership teams were so kind, so supportive of our family, so helpful to this "new normal". Farmstead staff really went out if their way to help our family understand complexities of Alzheimer's and take over care of Dad. Our family feels so blessed to have the Farmstead staff to lean on.The caregivers are so kind, professional, patient, respectful and genuinely nice to my Dad... it has been a comfort to know he has such good care! The facility is new, clean and so cozy, Dad had his own suite, and we were able ti make personal and cozy to help Dad feel the extended love "away" from home... Our family feels blessed to have our extended "family" at Farmstead in south Moorhead and so close and convenient for regular family and friends visits..

The food service at this certified assisted living facility needs help. Since my parents moved in…read moreMay 2013 there have been promises of improvements in their food quality and services none which have happened. The administration is aware of the problems but have no action plans. Some of the issues include waiting up to an hour to get food , not being served at same time at same table, food arriving cold, poor quality foods especially the meats which are tough others processed, with high salt/deep fried food instead of homemade meals, running out of food, and not serving what is posted on their weekly menu. Management of this facility had informed residents that there would be choices "like a restaurant" for their meals. Now 6 months later they have one "special" daily. It's not uncommon to have them run out of that with a substitute of even lesser quality. This is an extremely low value facility considering the cost to rent here. The facility is nice but the food service and quality are terrible. If the food service were an option then it may be a better value. Keep looking before you sign on here!
