My wife and I happened to be in Hercules yesterday (9/12/26) and we have always wanted to try Kinders. We were not disappointed. Especially by the service we received. We were met with a line that wrapped around the interior, so we took that as a good sign. We spoke with the manager on duty, (I think his name was Ian?) who was communicating with everyone waiting. He seemed to be running the place. He apologized profusely for the wait time, but we didn't mind waiting. We could tell they looked short staffed. But, when we finally got to order he suggested getting either a ball tip sandwich or a 1,2, or 3 way plate. Both of us wanted an old fashioned BBQ plate and we went with his suggestion of the Ball tip, ribs, and the brisket. We got mac and cheese sides plus some extra potato salad, and let me tell you, this was some of the BEST bbq we've had. The ribs fell of the bone and were moist and tender. The ball tip (which we had never even heard of) was better than any tri-tip we've had. He trimmed the brisket for us so it wasn't very fatty and we got to experience the true brisket taste. He explained it was seasoned with their signature Tequila Lime seasoning and we couldnt have been happier. When we went to get a couple of boxes (we couldnt finish, it was very filling) he saw us waiting, remembered our names, and got us what we needed. He was very professional and personable and made us feel at home. 100% recommend this place to anyone newer to the bay area or, like us, just looking for a great BBQ experience! Sorry in advance for this negative review on Kinder's. My experience from 07/16 was the worst I've experienced. The ribs were fatty and didn't taste as well as before they tasted boiled and not barbecued. The loaded bake potato with chicken was actually pork burnt ends and some shreds just tossed in the box . I also purchased cookies and brownies that were stale and crumbled like burnt toast or old cornbread. I'll probably go over to Tommy's. Very disappointed. I actually threw more than half away.
