I have been to Kindig-It Designs multiple times and alway have a great time. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. This visit was for the 20th Anniversary Car Show. There was a huge turnout of cars and people of all types. They had live music and food trucks to keep everyone busy. The shop staff were all busy giving tours and signing autographs for fans. One guy we talked to drove across the country for the event. It was very organized thanks to Bailey. And Dave and Kev-Dog were the kept busy judging cars and just doing what the do best. If you are a gear-head, fan of the show, or just like to see the incredible cars they produce, I highly recommend you plan a visit. Call ahead for a tour date and time if you want to meet the team as they travel a lot for events all over the world. read more

I was going through Salt Lake and I stopped in there to buy me a couple T-shirts and I seen him on top by his office up there and I seen him duck out! It's not like I was gonna call out to him or something. I'm a grown man He doesn't really care about the average person, but when Kevin Hart was on the show, he kept calling him Mr. Hart I guess it's it's all about the money there if you got 200,000 for a car all of a sudden he's very friendly read more

It was cool to see live one of my husband's favorite tv show. Due to Covid-19 they were not doing any shop tours but we were able to look in from outside. The showroom is small and only has 2 vehicles on display but it's a nice place with some neat shirts to buy. We saw many beautiful cars in the shop that they were working on. It didn't take long to see everything but it was still a fun experience. We saw several of the guys on tv working in the shop. read more

The group tour was awesome. We enjoyed seeing the amazing cars and the shop. Dave was there and busy working in the shop. Most of the guys from the TV series were there and said hi to us. It was very cool!! read more

Had to stop by while in town. The gift shop was open and they have a good selection of shirts and hats. Some stickers and art work as well. They were doing tours but they were sold out by the time I went online. Tours are done on Fridays and the price is dirt cheap for a complete tour of the operation. Plan to book way ahead next time I'm in Utah. There were 3 cars in the showroom and they were awesome. read more

As a "car guy", visiting this shop was on my li's wish list. We happen to be in town, about 2 miles away, so why not stop in. Pulling up to there parking lot, there they were, Dave and KevDog hanging out in the parking lot. We exchanged greetings and they were very courteous and friendly. We parked and proceeded to the store. I loved the cars on display, the merchandise, and the store setting. Unfortunately we didn't have access to where the magic happens, and so a little disappointed. I understand safety regulations, but perhaps some sort of overhead walkway would be great. Prices on the store were a tad high, but I still enjoyed the tour. read more

Enjoyed a really cool tour of the Kindig-It-Designs shop and studio area. $5 is a helluva deal for a 45 minute stroll around some of the shows cool characters and cars. Brad lead our tour,explained the rules and generally kept the cats herded. Nice job Brad! Got to see KevDogg actually working on a red Corvette, and we didn't get stamped! Will was head down busy in the fabrication shop, I suppose genius never rests? Bryce walked by while working on a C10 pickup, and I did the The Wall Of Stupid on my stroll. An homage to hours in yellow tape...41 hours still the record!! If you love custom cars and follow the show, you need to stop here. If you bleed MT streaming and have episodes committed to memory, please be quiet during the tour and let Brad talk. We get it...you WATCH THE SHOW. Very cool to see where it all happens here. Ya know what... WOW! I doubt may people will read this review because Kindig-It Designs has such a select group of people they appeal to. Well lets just say the first time I walked into this place I saw some of the most exotic super cars on the planet being worked on here. I asked questions and before I knew it I was getting a tour of the place. I took auto body classes and got certified in auto body in college. Ive had vehicles in magazines, commercials and Ive done car shows. For me to be absolutely blown away takes a lot. These guys are masters painters and cars are their canvas. If you are reading this and have the money to use their services... Just do it, they cant disappoint! read more

This group is the best in the business! Side note...... in SLC, waiting for a flight at our hotel..... on a SUNDAY...... we jumped in an UBER...... headed over to the shop.... Expecting pic through the gate...... and the gates were open, a couple guys working...... Kev Dog seen us, walked out, greeted us, took pictures and gave me a shirt! What awesome hospitality! I have had Kindig build 4 of my rides and in my opinion they are one of the top builders ( craftsman ) in the country. The last car I had them do was a 1000 + hp 64 Malibu that was built not only to show at our company events but to really be driven and driven hard. The car came out incredible and handles like a track car. My business has allowed me to have great relationships with all of the top builders in the industry and if I wanted, could have any of them build or restore a car for me, I choose Kindig-it read more

I live in Vegas, and visit family in Utah. For a year I have been trying to stop by Kindig-Design to take a tour, I finally got the chance. I scheduled a tour for my 3 children, myself, and our service dog. The tour was awesome. We got to see some beautiful cars, and got to learn a lot more about the whole process that the shop puts into creating the beautiful machines. Brad was a great tour guide. He was very relaxed and friendly. He was also very knowledgeable about the shop. We had the privilege or being met by KevDogg and being able to get some pictures with him. He was very friendly and took great care to make my kids feel welcome and excited for the tour. There is a lot that I can write, but I'll leave it at this. Take the tour. The people are great. The cars are beautiful. The atmosphere is relaxed and personable. The tours are not crammed so full of people or rushed. I think we had 10 people and most of them were mine. Take the tour, It's worth it. By the way, service dogs welcome, but I recommend paw protection in case there are metal pieces. read more

Dave and his wife are amazing! I took my wife to the ford nationals in Carlisle pa this weekend to meet and greet with Dave. Long story short we waited in line for an hour before they started so she could be in front of the line. When Dave came in it was all I could do to say hello! I just had a giant smile on my face Dave asked me a couple times how I was doing and I couldn't answer. I also want to give a shoutout to Charity cause she was there also and I froze and couldn't talk to her either. We got some autographs and he took pictures with us. It's just so awesome how humble they both were! In my mind there is no other builders even close to the level kindig is on!! read more

Please read fully! I'm tired of people asking, "Why a guy from Tennessee went to a place in Utah?" I have a 72 cutlass, had "kin dig it"put a UMI suspension kit on, it was done wrong,then no grease on the fittings, they of course blamed the parts manufacturer. The staff "Kevin" was rude. He told me, "We build $1,000,000.00 cars we don't make mistakes on simple things like suspension." I told them about the no grease, he said, "Why didn't you buy a grease gun and just do it yourself?" I had them do it because I was "in SLC for work for a few months," so tools were not with me, plus why did I pay them? To be fair, they design cool cars, but the body work is done by hardworking Spanish workers and they sub contract a lot of their work. Tommy Shelby was the only nice guy there. Caught them in multiple lies. My steering wheel was side ways after the job,They just said we contract alignments out so talk to him. I talked to the alignment guy he said he didn't get paid enough to take time on cars go complain to Kin Dig It So if you plan on building an art piece and not ever driving it "these are your guys!" If you have more question, I can go into more detail and photos! I see people that work there give them 5 stars, Classy! read more

BUYER BEWARE!! They incorrectly installed an air intake and caused the motor to burn up. $9K for a new engine. Although I have documentation, they refuse to even refund my $$ for the labor charges for their installation. Tyler J, the intake housing cut the radiator hose which caused the engine to seize. Stopped in Oct. 2020 but couldn't take the tour due to the COVID restrictions. The showroom is pretty cool...small but cool. Nice variety of merchandise to purchase. Bailey was at the front desk. She was so friendly and awesome and even autographed a shirt for me! I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area and have a few minutes to kill. read more

I went to the shop to see about having them build my 57 chevy. I talked to that clown kev dogg and talk about a total asshole! He actually told me they usually don't build cars for normal people because it does not help in building dave's rep. I will never step foot in that shop again until he is fired and banned from the shop. After 6 months of hard work, my 57 is finished. Thank god for relationships in the auto industry. If I ever want another car built, Ill call Richard Rawlins or Chip Foose. read more

I just wish I could've gotten into see the shop. I went there on a Thursday and tours are on Friday. Nice selection of Kindig-it swag inside the sales office, three cars on the showroom floor, unfortunately none of the hoods were open which is where some of the best work can be seen. The sales person was completely anemic and didn't seem to care if we were there or not. Still it was a really nice visit, got a quick glimpse of Dave, would've loved to talk to him and let him know how much i appreciate The art and craftsmanship that I see when watching Bitchin Rides! read more

I drove all the way to Salt Lake just to go to the showroom. Dave was so nice, he stopped to say hi to my family and I. Met Kevdogg. Both we as nice in person as they are on the show. The cars were amazing that were in the showroom. These guys are making artists. read more

This is my FAVORITE CAR SHOW! Dave & Kev Dog really make the show just fill that empty space needed, not that this show even needs it with all THE AMAZING CARS THEY BUILD!!! We met the guys at a car show in Pomona a couple of months ago and they were incredibly humble and sweet to my son who's a huge fan. They even offered to take a picture with him. When my husband and son found out I had to come to Salt Lake for a convention their only ask was that I visit the shop and get them some gear. So here I am. The service was great and everything was priced well. Hope I can come back soon and bring my son to see it for himself. read more

I was in town and had some time to kill, and since I happened to be a fan off the show I stopped by. Gotta sat there wasn't much going on. The show room was nice, they had one of my favorite builds from the show on display. The guy running the register seemed nice, I'm not sure what I expected but like I said there wasn't much going on. I could hear people working in the shop but all the doors were closed so I couldn't see anything. I did buy a T-shirt. I guess I was hoping to see more.... cars, people? I don't know, I'm a fan of the show and try to get some ideas from some of the things they have done so I can use them on my own build. Anyway not a bad experience but like I said I'm not sure what I i was expecting. read more

History

Established in 1999.

Kindig-it Design was started at the Kindig's home and didn't last long due to the demand for Dave's creative designs. Dave and his wife Charity leased a 4500 sq ft shop in Salt Lake City and went to work. Kindig-its first big project was a PT Cruiser from Uglies.com an underwear manufacturer; Dave hand painted each panel of the car a print from the underwear. This project got lots of recognition and was featured in the local news papers. After 2 years of building custom rides Kindig-it Design needed to expand, so they moved the shop into a 9000 sq ft space. This was a difficult time in the country's economy as 9/11 happened the day of the grand reopening. Kindig-it overcame this struggle and continued building show stopping vehicles for a clientele who desired a one of a kind quality project. Kindig-it Design now has an 27,000 sq ft shop with state of the art metal fabrication/paint facilities, and in-house upholstery. Kindig-its crew has won Utah's Finest 7 times at the Salt Lake Cit

Who is this Dave Kindig guy anyways? (They) say, car design is an art form with few true masters. From concept & design to build then the finished product. It takes a person with special skills and vision to craft manufactured automotive vehicles into customs. It takes an entirely separate set of skills to turn these vehicles into masterfully designed One Off Custom Car Design fabrication business. -So this is Dave Kindig. Since 1999 Dave & his beautiful supportive wife Charity have built Kindig-It Design together. A one stop, complete custom shop where autos are turned into spectacular works of art. We stopped in last week to get an estimate for repairing our vehicle after we rear-ended another…read morecar, causing a few thousand dollars damage to the other car and resulting in bumper scratches and apparent asymmetry around the headlight on ours. Manager Danny evaluated our car and noted the scratches were minor, but would be expensive to repair and, just using his fist on the plastic part of the bumper, completely fixed the asymmetry around the headlight - after that, even a with a close look at the front end, the damage was virtually invisible. He also carefully inspected under the hood and front end with a flashlight and said he could not see any evidence of structural damage - bottom line: due to the damage to the other car, we were expecting and ready for a big bill to fix ours - Danny not only fixed the most visible result of the accident for no charge, he talked us out of doing more repairs and saved us a bundle. That is integrity! If we ever have another need (hopefully not), this will be our "go to" shop and we'll ask for Danny!

I'm just a fan of the show, not able to afford to have them build me a ride. I run an auto repair business myself and I was able to meet Dave at the SEMA show in '15. Very personable and friendly! I was in Salt Lake City this week for a wedding and I was able to take a tour of the Kindig-It Design shop. Brad is their tour guide. Brad is a fireman by trade and does this part time for the shop. If you have the opportunity to go on this tour, don't miss it! Brad is very friendly and will answer any question you have. For a guy who only does this part time he has an amazing amount of knowledge about what's going on in the shop, past, present and future! There wasn't a question he couldn't answer. They charge $5 for the tour, but you can use it as a $5 discount in their apparel shop. We were able to talk with Will in the shop for a few minutes and he was friendly and funny, just like he is on the show. They have projects in every phase of repair so you get to see everything first hand. This was a very enjoyable tour! The people at Kindig-It Design are pros and love to share their craft with you. Make sure you talk to him if you get lost; his shop is a short driveway off the street behind some buildings there. Even though the work I had him do today was quick with just an oil change and change of wipers, he told me about my brake pads and rotors and recommended a time to have them taken care of with a quick cursory inspection. He even went an extra two miles to email me a quote on that cost so I would have something to plan with. Sean certainly knows his stuff with his vehicles and he did his work diligently. I am without a doubt going to be taking my car to him from now on. Not just his technical skill was on display, but he was very easy going and nice to get along with; I always appreciate a mechanic who is willing to explain anything I may have a question on.
