From the moment we arrived, the entire team displayed an exceptional level of professionalism, compassion, and dedication to patient care. The doctors, nurses, and support staff went above and beyond to ensure that my son received the best possible treatment. The facility is clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything needed for long-term acute care. The medical staff is highly knowledgeable and attentive, always taking the time to explain treatment plans and answer any questions. They truly prioritize patient well-being and recovery, making what could be a stressful experience much more manageable. Beyond the outstanding medical care, the kindness and empathy shown by everyone at Kindred Hospital made all the difference. They treat patients with dignity and respect while also providing emotional support to families. This is unfortunate because these are the people with the compassion and heart to care for our loved ones. I only saw a few people of non-color doing this work. If I could give negative stars I would. I was a patient here last summer. My first feeling when I arrived on day 1 was "I'm going to get killed in this place." The staff seemed very incompetent. Most of the staff was hired from overseas and barely spoke English. This is very frustrating to a patient with a trach who cannot talk. If it weren't for my wife constantly by my side, I honestly feel like I would have died at Kindred- First Hill. Fast-forward to today. Now I am dealing with rude billing staff. I have paid in full the bills that my insurance has advised me to pay. However, the billing department is trying to strong arm payment. They have sent my account to collections despite my insurance telling them it is not my financial responsibility. I have been hung up on, yelled at, and been spoken over to the point that I cannot get a word in before they hang up. They have been screening my calls also. I have filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. I will never recommend anyone be sent here. I do not wish to receive your cut and paste response, but would rather someone from Senior Management reach out to me. My information is on file with the hospital. Terrible Experience - Incompetent Staff and Neglectful Care I am incredibly disappointed and disturbed by the level of care and professionalism (or lack thereof) at Kindred. My recent experience at this facility was nothing short of a nightmare, and it's clear that this hospital suffers from serious systemic issues, especially in terms of staff competency and patient care. Lack of Professionalism from Medical Staff From the moment I arrived, I noticed a severe lack of professionalism. Nurses were disorganized, dismissive, and unhelpful. When I asked basic questions about the treatment plan, I was met with blank stares and vague responses. It became evident that many of the staff were either untrained or simply didn't care to perform their duties properly. My loved one was left unattended for hours, despite being in obvious distress. How can a hospital operate when its own medical professionals can't communicate effectively with each other or their patients? Neglect of Basic Patient Needs Perhaps the most shocking aspect of my experience was the outright neglect of patient care. On multiple occasions, my mother was left without assistance for long period of time. She pressed the call button several times and was ignored for over an hour. By the time someone arrived, her condition had worsened, but the nurses brushed it off as if it was no big deal. My loved one, who was in need of constant monitoring, was often left without necessary medical attention. Medication was given late, vital signs were rarely checked, and there seemed to be a complete disregard for patient safety. How can a hospital that prides itself on care be so neglectful of the very basics? Unresponsive and Rude Support Staff It felt like no one in this hospital cared about their patients. I had to fight for every bit of information, and each conversation left me feeling more anxious and frustrated. What's even more infuriating is the fact that this isn't a one-time issue. From overhearing conversations and speaking with other patients and visitors, it's clear that this hospital has a reputation for being understaffed, disorganized, and indifferent. In Conclusion My experience at Kindred was beyond unacceptable. The staff's incompetence and neglect endangered my loved one's health and left me feeling helpless. This hospital is in dire need of reform--staff need proper training, patient care must become the priority, and there needs to be a serious overhaul of how things are managed. Until significant changes are made, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hospital to anyone. If you value your health and safety, I strongly urge you to consider alternative healthcare facilities. DO NOT send your loved one here unless you want them to die! I don't even know where to start! When our son was first admitted back in December, we had a terrible feeling about this place that is so called a hospital! First of all, it is so diverse that most of the staff hardly speaks clear english so it's extremely hard to communicate with any of them. My husband stayed with our son 24/7 and we're completely convinced that our son would have died if my husband wasn't there to watch over him. Our son was immobile and had a trachea, so he couldn't talk or even push the call button for assistance ( like that would have even helped). My husband was constantly out in the halls looking for a staff member to get assistance which was usually a CNA because nurses are no where to be found! Our son had his dialysis port removed and had a feeding tube inserted ( both surgical procedures) done in his hospital room, NOT in a sterilized surgery room by one of their arrogant doctors! They brought in another patient to my sons room who was contagious with God knows what, so they removed my son after discovering that this other patient was contagious, they told us it took 14 days to get his test results back so they didn't know at the time. Shouldn't they confine a patient until they get those results back instead of jeopardizing another patient health and wellbeing? Our son's health was already SO compromised! Unbelievable! They come in and just start packing up my son and moving him out, no explanation! We do have to thank the wound care specialist named Leaf for encouraging us to get our son OUT OF THERE and transfer him to a real hospital after our sons wound was bleeding SO bad due to a nurse named Laura ripping off the wound dressing improperly causing it to bleed and bleed. Our son's bed was SOAKED in blood! We are convinced that he would have bled to death if we weren't there to witness this! Our son couldn't talk and when you push the call button, it takes at least an hour for someone to respond. One day he had a bowel movement so I told Nancy, a nurse on duty~ she said that she needed her CNA to assist her because it's not safe to move him alone and I SAID it's not safe for him to be laying in feces for 50 minutes especially with a very serious wound on his bottom! Unbelievable! Anyway, we requested an ambulance immediately the day that our sons wound wouldn't stop bleeding which took forever, he was admitted to a local top notch hospital where he received exceptional care for a diagnosis of hemorrhagic shock. They then admitted him into their ICU immediately where he needed 2 blood transfusions and stayed for another 5 days and then was transferred to their respiratory floor for another 4 weeks. This hospital saved his life! I'll be filing a complaint with the State of Washington against Kindred! This place needs to be investigated immediately before more patients die from their lack of medical care!!! BTW~ whenever you mention Kindred to other nurses and doctors at other local hospitals, they just cringe and shake their heads! Their reputation is HORRIBLE!!!! read more

My boyfriend was transferred there from ICU at Tacoma general.....we were blessed that tacoma was such an awesome hospital that we were given a second chance with him ....but all of that is being taken away because of the purest form of neglect any human can go through from the staff at kindred hospital....he has declined so far that I don't know if he can come back ......we want to get him moved but don't know how or what to do can anyone help me ...I live across the water and work a full time + job and can only get there every other day.... He was doing great before transfered, eating ice chips ,talking, ECT.now they keep him restrained and on methadone so he'll sleep and not bother him ...we were promised pt/it and speech therapy which none has taken place ... I have to change him clean him and pull him up in bed before I can visit with him several times he was sitting in his own pee/poop this isn't fare we need him out of there read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place! My husband was SOOOO neglected at Kindred in November of 2019, he nearly died there! If we didn't INSIST he be transferred to Swedish Cherry Hill he would've passed away in agony. They even used scare tactics so we wouldn't move him. He called me every day saying how horrible he felt. The days before we transferred him he said his legs were so swollen they looked like tree trunks! Does Kindred NOT know about the compression boots that are supposed to be used?? While he was a patient there he went through THREE case managers as they were quitting right and left. That says a lot about the management of Kindred. He was only transferred to Kindred because he was on the mend and getting stronger while at Swedish. His health steadily declined while at Kindred. Yes, the staff is mostly English Language Learners, however it is irresponsible to put them in positions where they NEED to understand each other AND the DOCTORS! We had a very hard time understanding them when they called to give us updates. While there he got a roommate, we'll call him "Bob." Bob was throwing up and throwing up and trying to get a nurse to come in. His alarms were going off on his lines and still no nurse. So my husband clicked his nurse button to get help for Bob, still no nurse. My husband pulled out one of his lines to alert the nurses to go into the room - still no nurse. So Bob had to call his WIFE AT HOME to have her call Kindred to send in a nurse to help! NEGLIGENCE!! When we finally got my husband back to Swedish his doctor called to say it's a good thing we did as he was in a dire place. He needed someone to CARE for him. To top it all off and this should be a WARNING for those heading to Kindred, we received the hospital bills and the DOCTORS ARE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS AND NOT EMPLOYEES OF KINDRED SO KINDRED IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!! It breaks my heart to think that my husband had to go through all of this as his health declined while in the "care" of Kindred. He passed away recently and I can't stop from thinking Kindred had a hand in his deterioration. I would like to update my review of Kindred Hospital. I did my Rehab through Kindred. It was the second time that I stayed at this facility. During my stay the hospital staff including the Doctors, Rn's, CNA's, PT, Kitchen staff, and housekeeping were very kind, caring, respectful, professional, compassionate, and very HARD WORKING!!! I was very impress with everyone. They made my experience very positive and uplifting. In fact I became friends with a lot of the staff members. I was actually sad when I left. Thank you from the bottom of my heart I really appreciate the staff of Kindred Hospital. Stay Away!!! This place is awful. I was warned on the way there by the ambulance driver to have my husband take me elsewhere. We didn't listen... should have. First of all, the staff was very nice. Second, their food was actually good. But that's where the good ends and the rest is bad and ugly. I was supposed to be there for rehab. Physical Therapy was scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I arrived on a Thursday and did have PT on Friday. When Monday came around no PT. Tuesday... no PT. Wednesday I did get PT and they said they were too busy on Monday and Tuesday to fit me in. Friday I was scheduled and again no PT. So basically instead of 3 times a week I'm received PT once a week. I wonder if they billed the insurance for more? Then comes the worse part. My original reason for being there was an infection in my leg. They said they had a great wound care team and they would be changing the dressings every other day. When I arrived on Thursday they did all the changes. I should then have the wound dressings changed on Saturday. But that doesn't happen at Kindred. We were told "nothing" happens on weekends at Kindred. I was told my next dressing change would be Monday. Around 6:00PM the nurse came in with the supplies, but then said she was too busy and someone else would have to change the dressings. She left all the supplies out in the open. On Tuesday, the nurse that day said she couldn't touch it because she didn't have orders. Wednesday still no change so thank God my husband helped the nurses at Valley Medical with my wound dressing changes, so HE changed my dressings. By Saturday still not PT and no wound change so my husband had enough and let them know he would be taking me home. They were up in arms trying to convince us that we HAD to stay. My husband politely told the so called "Doctor" in charge that if he could show that they took proper care of me while I was there, including all scheduled PT and dressing changes that we'd stay. No-one even knew my husband had changed the dressings and they didn't have any scheduled again until Monday the next week. We left. This place should be shut down - how shameful to be called a rehabilitation hospital and just let you lay in the bed day after day with no PT and wound dressings that could easily cause a re-infection. read more

My husband was sent there to get rehab after an ICU stay. His condition rapidly declined due to incompetent care and we had to get him removed to the ICU at another hospital. One day I went to visit and he was almost completely uncovered lying on a bare mattress with the sheet gathered behind his butt and his gown almost off his body. He was shivering from cold. Another morning i went there and he had soiled himself before i got there (poop and pee). I called the nurse who came in 15-20 minutes later who informed us that she needed a second person to safely turn him. 45 minutes later, they showed up to clean him. At that point, I tried to get him sent back to another place, but they wouldn't allow him to go. On a ventilator, he would require proper transport and Kindred refused to arrange for transport. Ambulance services cant move a ventilated patient without the hospital's approval either, so he was being held against both of our wishes. The staff, RN included, didnt know how to perform a simple bladder scan. They also botched setting a foley catheter, causing him to bleed and scab up and making it impossible to void his bladder. After this, they administered Lasix to get him to pee, but that only increased pressure in his bladder. This required him to go back to another hospital where they performed surgical intervention to stop the bleeding and allow him to pee out over 1 LITRE of urine. The doctor that was in charge had such a bloated ego that he didnt want to hear anything about what had led up to his being there. He had the WORST bedside manor i have ever seen. I worked in the healthcare industry for 38 years and never have seen this low level of attention, competence, or compassion. read more

Typing this and thinking about how horrible the experience was makes me teary eyed but here we go.. This place deserves ZERO stars! ZERO STARS!!! 0000!!! Reading all these horrible reviews about peoples experiences are SO relevant to my family and I experience with my mom's stay there for a couple of months. I already sent my letter back of how I rated my mom's experience a couple of years ago but I feel like I need to add to yelp. My mom was sent here in a rush after a horrible stroke so my family and I did not have time to do research and find the perfect rehab for her. The atmosphere in this whole building is SAD! Who in the world wants to send their loved ones to a "rehab" that is filled with a whole bunch of sadness and darkness through out the whole building? Every day, I would visit my mom before and after work and just walking through these sad halls, just made me feel weak. But I forced myself to put a smile on my face so my mom wouldn't be so down. My mom is not capable of speaking and half of her body is not function able so she in wheel chair bound. She had a roommate who spoke but was always in bed and she always reported to me. One day I came to visit, and my mom's roommate told me that she was screaming on the top of her lungs in pain because the phlebotomist drew blood from her right arm (which is not movable and painful to touch). Me, as a phlebotomist was SO FURIOUS!!!! My mom cannot verbally tell you she's in pain but she does have facial expressions and can make sounds that obviously will tell you its painful! I spoke with the nurse manager and expressed how furious and hurt I was that my mom had this experience. They apologized and was going to find out who the phlebotomist was but I never got an update. There's several more altercations that have happened but that the one that made me furious the most!! Hate is a strong word, but I HATE this place. Kindred hospital is full of "medical professionals" who are just there for the money and not actually the care, love and comfort of the patients! And FYI, we transferred my mom to a different facility in federal way and she improved SO MUCH and got discharged within a month! Mom's happy at home with her family now. AND PLEASE, DO NOT contact me because I DO NOT want your petty sympathies. NOTHING in this world will ever make the way you guys "treated and cared" for my sweet mom right. The five stars are for the five super stars. Doug the CEO, Nurses Delce and Rebeca, Assistants Jennifer and Hodan made my wife's stay extraordinary. When they said they were going to do some thing, it was done. Now these were the All-Stars. The majority of the rest of the staff were very very good. Now some may have come from another country and have what we call broken English, but they treated my wife with respect and dignity, as if they were taken care of one of their own loved ones. My 43-year old terminally ill friend was in this hospital and the care was atrocious. It was so bad I hired a private nurse to examine him. The nurse confirmed my friend was being neglected; she was so upset by his condition that she cried all the way home. The staff overdosed him twice and he had to be taken by ambulance to the UW Hospital. One of the nurses once asked about my friend, "Isn't he like, dying or something?" I could go on and on but suffice to say I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. I wrote letters of complaint to the state health board to no avail. I'll post photos of notes my friend wrote to himself while staying at kindred. He had cancer metastasized to the brain as well as partial paralysis from the cancer, and the notes are in his handwriting. The notes say his ribs were becoming numb, the paralysis getting worse, but staff was too busy to attend to him. Notes say the socks under his splints had not been changed for two weeks, and notes say he called out for help and was left for hours without anyone coming to his aid. It's bad enough to be sick, it's exponentially worse to be stuck in Kindred hell. It's disgusting that this place has not been shut down. read more

My husband spent 3 days there, coming from Bellingham Wa. he had pneumonia and needed a little more rehab sent from St. Josephs. I should of just taken him home, he fell out of bed once at Kindred, and he said they ignored him most of the time, and he did not feel safe, and he could not understand them because they all speak another language. The nurse was cleaning out his phlegm deep in his throat, and gagged him, and he threw up and aspirated and got another aspiration pneumonia, ended up in their ICU and they said he coded, not sure if that was real, anyway I had him moved to another hospital, and he is still there since he left Kindred, and I attribute his decline to the 3 days he spent at Kindred, which it has taken over 6 months to get him some what stable. He almost died at this other hospital, and they had to induce him into a coma. They do not have a nurse or secretary answering the phone or at check in desk, it is security. The place has people possibly dying daily and when we visited they had code blues and sepsis calls over and over on the load speaker, it was very stressful. I have lived and visited 3rd world countries and this felt like a hospital in a third world, does not help that nurses do not try and speak clear English. I am writing this because I want to see them change. This is what they need to do: Have normal greeters, hire someone to answer phone and greet at desk. Get nurses that are fluent in English, and trained and hire more staff, to take care of patients correctly, Put higher bed rails on beds. Have respiratory therapist clean out throat of patient. The whole atmosphere needs to change in the hospital to give it a feeling of profession-ism. I am not saying to shut them down, but make some changes. There needs to be less code blue and sepsis over the loud speaker, or take care of the patients so they don't have these incidents. I know there are lots of sick people there, but other hospitals have maybe one a month I hear. The security maybe there to keep people from coming inside that are criminals, but I also think it is to keep people in who want to leave. Husband had a hard time leaving, and I was in Bellingham and the ambulance took over an hour to get him out. He had to sign against medical advice form to leave. This account is written on behalf of my mother: "My experience at Kindred First Hill was less than stellar. Although the staff was able to wean me off a ventilator, they did little else to facilitate my recovery and healing after a spinal stroke. Most of my stay I was left in bed, rather than encouraged to do physical therapy or occupational therapy, which was a drastic change from the in-patient rehab I had been transferred from. Some days I wouldn't see my nurse until several hours into their shift often times leaving me sitting in my own waste for prolonged periods of time. Although I tried to direct my care, 9 times out of 10 I was not listened to. When my family and I would try to take action and report issues to higher administration, things never changed for more than an hour. My daughter reached out to the care coordinator to file a complaint and was never called back. My niece searched for two hours to find someone to help me into my wheelchair only to discover all the staff in the break room "unavailable." I am grateful I have since moved on to a better facility, however for those patients who do not have the advocates I do, I imagine a stay at Kindred of any length would be both miserable and demoralizing. I thought it would be helpful to know a first patient's account to sway any family members from sending their loved ones to this horrific place." read more

My 75-year-old mother was at Kindred for just over a week recently after a major surgery. Positives - the place is new and clean. It's really lovely. The location was great. Many of the staff really seemed to care about providing good service and care, especially in physical therapy and occupational therapy. The food was decent. Negatives - the staff to patient ratio is just too high. We quickly learned that in order to get her pain medicine, Mom had to go find her nurse and ask for it. Pushing the call button often resulted in a 30 to 45 minute wait for a response. This is just not OK for someone who is in post-surgical pain. read more

My mother was sent her and I don't know why. They are not a real hospital. They made me sign papers stating that if something were to happen that she would be sent to a real hospital. Anyway she passes away on Sunday December 17, 2017. They never called to tell us she was was declining. I was litterally down the street at work. I would have been with my mom. Subsequently she had to die alone. Then they forced is to hurry up and make arrangements that her body had to be out of the hospital by morning. My mother died at 742 pm the 17th. They insisted she be out by the morning but the law says we have 24 hours. So made arrangements and let the nurses know. Well the nurses called some other people to come and get our mothers body. My father is a patient here and the nursing staff has been wonderful! They are so kind, and gentle. I've been with both my parents to many hospitals in the past. Nurses are often overworked, underappreciated, and sometimes that affects how they treat the patients. But the ones at Kindred are always so compassionate, and careful! I know a so called nurse that is employed at this place - this nurse cannot even remember to lock the front door when leaving the house and has no attention span whatsoever , his hygiene - he is filthy and never washes his hands , leaving finger prints and muck on any thing he touches - I wondered how this person could perform the duties required of a "nurse" because as I said he had trouble performing the simplest daily tasks - I wondered what kind of hospital would hire such a poor excuse for a human and now I see kindred "hospital " is actually a rehab center and it is just as incompetent as many of these rehab places are - by hiring people who are not capable of working anywhere else - making it obvious that thus is a horrible place - as they are not capable of caring for anyone and should be shut down - the state of Washington is really gong down hill as there are no laws to protect citizens and now I have witnessed that this state does not regulate its health care providers ability to perform - letting anyone work as a "nurse" -? another nurse from a very good hospital told me that they would not want this so called nurse taking care of them either!! read more

Without going into the long story, I must say the lack of professionalism is rampant. My mother was there for several months. The care was marginal at best. I had to confront an employee for laughing at is during a serious topic. When discharge time came they sent us home with a shoe box full of medications , literally , and prescriptions. You would have needed an MD degree to decipher all her meds! It was completely careless of Kindred , I think frankly they just couldn't wait to get her out the door. I will never leave a loved one there again! read more

I injured my foot yesterday and my search for a hospital for ER services brought me to Kindred today. When I walked inside, I immediately noticed a sign that no emergency services were available. I was immediately greeted by a person who works in Speech in the Rehab facility. I relayed my dilemma to her and asked her where the nearest hospital was. After informing me it was right up the street, I thanked the front staff and went to begin to hobble on my crutches. She asked how I was getting there and I let her know I would just walk over there but I was clearly in pain. The staff offered to help me into a wheelchair and wheel me over to the emergency department of the hospital up the street. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of care and concern these medical professionals displayed for me in getting four blocks up the street in crutches. Sarah, a healthcare worker there, wheeled me uphill in a wheelchair to the nearby hospital. I was so grateful for Sarah helping me to get the care I needed rather than just giving me directions and sending me off my way. On our way there we even bonded over how Im a teacher where her child used to go to! Although I did not receive services from Kindred, the staff (Sarah rocks!) attended to my needs above the call of duty and didn't just send me on my way. The staffed saved me from more pain and gave me much needed care quickly. The Kindred Rehabilitation area was amazing today and I couldn't thank them enough for going above the call of duty! read more

Kindred on first hill killed my family member. They refuse to call back from customer care. A group of neglectful and uneducated doctors, nurses and staff. Nightmare!!! Death trap facility. All about the $$$$. Patients calling over and over for help and no one comes to help them. Pure neglect and no care! I would get into specifics but I have a lawsuit going and can't say much. I will make it my life long duty to tell anyone I can to stay away from this horrible, horrible place read more

My husband had a stroke March 18, 2020, he was in Harrison hospital in Bremerton Washington for four weeks, after that he was transferred to kindred Seattle Wa for 2 weeks , that's where my problems started, From the beginning I told Michael Forby I needed a daily phone calls about his high blood pressure and his diabetes and his care there and I was worried about them being mean to him, he knew my concerns and he got little care there they didn't speak very much English so the communication was bad, when I called him up all I hear is laughter and very loud , being that he had a stroke and couldn't speak very loud I couldn't even hear him he didn't have his own phone so we used our cell phones which he couldn't talk and I couldn't hear him very well when he did that was very upsetting, so the day that he got ready to leave the nurse called and said he fell, the way she put it he landed, OK fine, and when I asked him what happened he said that he was packing his things and they wouldn't help him and he fell backwards, OK that answers that. I was glad to have them out of there, so he was at his new place in new rehab for his physical occupational and speech therapy and when I went to visit him I didn't see him at first and then when I did I see him and I said oh who shaved your head he said I got a haircut from that place that He was in previously, I told him they didn't cut his hair they shaved his hair, come to find out they don't have razors or clippers there, he had burn marks on the back of his neck I was very upset about that, when I called the hospital to find out what happened, they could not give me an answer on who would've done that they said they sent the picture I sent them to their wound care area and they said it was either someone shaving too close to the head or he's been laying on his head constantly. That's rather disturbing, he couldn't walk so did they ever take him to the bathroom I don't even know that because they never called me, the CEO was telling me he has 846 hours of therapy?? That's BS , makes me wonder if he got his speech, occupational, physical therapy there he was only there for two weeks too long and when he got out he was miserable, if I would've known that I would've taken them out immediately, the one time I did get to see him he was left in the family room by himself in a wheelchair and this was just the beginning of him going to therapy ,he could've stood up out of the wheelchair and fell he's not allowed to have anything by mouth because he had a feeding tube and there was water in there, He could've choked if he try to drink it which would go into his lungs , this place is disgusting, I was very upset with them then they try to do the blame game and blame the new place that he's in.so beware if you love someone don't send them there they don't call you about your loved ones care they they don't do their job and they can't even find out who did that to him I think they deliberately did that to his head , they didn't shave his face they didn't cut his fingernails And when you're questioning who did it nobody will own up to it and razors and scissors are not allowed in there or clippers, and their CEO Doug just recently quit and now they have a new CEO for two weeks I told her good luck with your employees in there they lie they don't take care of their patients it's awful, my husband told me his experience was very bad I'm very disgusted with this place! I'm just thankful that nothing else happened to him but what did was disturbing to me, I hope they shut that place down! read more

Our Dad had a major stroke that was devastating. After being in ICU for over 2 weeks, we were referred to Kindred Hospital on First Hill. We were very nervous coming from ICU and moving to another facility as we were not sure what to expect. The minute we arrived at Kindred on First Hill, the entire staff took care of our Dad as if he was their own. We have been so impressed with everyone's skills and empathy. Our adult son was seriously injured in an automobile accident and spent six weeks in the Harborview trauma/ICU unit. When the time came to transfer our son to a follow-up facility, we selected Kindred at First Hill. Several variables went into this decision: interviews with medical, administrative, and support staff; condition and cleanliness of the facility; state-of-the-art equipment; proximity to Harborview for follow-up appointments. Our son has just completed his second week at Kindred. The medical staff has been extremely attentive, consistently upbeat, and always helpful. Assistance provided by our family support representative has been phenomenal. The services provided by the speech/occupational/physical therapy and respiratory care teams has been awesome. I was sent here for rehab after a very long illness from Overlake Hospital. The staff was great. Dr. Martin was always professional and checked in on me often. Renee, one of the nurse practitioners, was wonderful. The staff in general, nurses, therapists; were all excellent. They listened to my concerns and made sure I was were I needed to be to get me up and about and back home where I wanted to be. Thank you Kindred! read more
