I had a PT that I loved, but he left town. I tried two PTs at another clinic that had been recommended by a few people, but neither of them was able to pinpoint the issue with my shoulder and set me on a program to rehab it. I've have been doing martial arts for many years and have periodically strained various muscles/tendons. My old PT was really great at setting me on a good rehab process to get me back at full strength. The two PTs at the other clinic didn't have that level of skill. I found Sage on the web and made an appointment to see Johanna Leader based on the description on her bio. I told her at the first appointment that I was feeling frustrated having seen two other PTs who had not been able to help. She assured me that if we could not make some progress within a reasonable timeframe, she would refer me to someone else in the office. We started working on the shoulder and I was pleased to find that working with Johanna reminded me of working with my old PT (who left town). I was still skeptical after the other two PTs, but I was hopeful. After a couple of months of various exercises, I finally began feeling significant relief from the pains and restrictions that I had been experiencing for most of a year. The pain had varied somewhat over time based on my activities, so it took some time for me to be sure I was making real progress. Johanna worked with me to progressively strengthen all the supporting muscles and stretch the constricted tendons that were keeping the shoulder out of it's proper alignment. Tt's now been over four months of working with Johanna and I am excited to say that I have almost complete range of motion in the shoulder. After a car accident several months ago my chiropractor suggested I see a physical therapist. I was looking for a provider near my office and I'm SO GLAD I found Kathleen and Sage PT!!!! When 6 months of chiro and massage still left me with daily pain, it was time to try something else. I broke my foot back in August, and Sage literally helped me get back on my feet! About 6 months later, I was back to running 4 miles, 4 times a week. What a relief! COVID-19 precautions: Everyone wore masks at all times. Temperature was checked at the door. They make you wash your hands before you do anything else. I felt safe the entire time. Kristi was my main physical therapist, and I also had a couple sessions with Kathleen while Kristi was visiting family for a couple weeks. Both were fantastic to work with. My favorite part was they would explain the anatomy and exactly what their assigned exercises were doing for me. It made me feel confident in the exercises that were assigned. Kristi would always make sure I had a written copy of her assigned exercises (either on paper or via email). Both Kristi and Kathleen helped me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. Kali, who works the front desk, is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We had an issue with my insurance at one point and Kali worked it all out for me. Let me start by saying Kathleen is amazing! I have been in PT for many years for an ongoing chronic pain issue. Not many PT's are able to help. I used to fly to San Francisco for years before finding Kathleen. She has been able to continue the therapy I was receiving and help me continue to get better. Running has always been extremely important to me and over the years I've had numerous injuries which have sidelined me. A couple years ago I developed persistent hamstring and hip pain and after seeing multiple physical therapists and two sports medicine specialists, I thought I would have to hang up my running shoes forever. Kathleen came highly recommended by a previous physical therapist who didn't have time on their schedule, and I worked with Kathleen to recover from a knee injury. She was ready to start with a video consult when other PTs had not figured that out yet. Once it was allowed, we continued in person and made great progress. Kathleen is the best physical therapist. I had been going to another physical therapist as well as a chiropractor and massage therapist for months before finding Kathleen and she figured out my problem during the very first visit when no one else had ever mentioned it. I immediately started seeing improvement. I have been following the plan she specifically made for me and we have uncovered new issues along the way. We have been able to solve each one in succession (all originating from the primary hip/lower back problem) and I'm now finally able to work out at a gym 4 days a week without issue. I really do not think I would have gotten here without her expertise. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her profession, but she also recognizes when another type of therapy needs to be pursued (for one issue, I was referred to a sports medicine physician and more recently, I've gone back to massage therapy at Kathleen's recommendation, which has been so very helpful this time around). I had an outstanding experience working with Kathleen. I was experiencing severe mid back pain, and she identified (no one else could, btw) that the issue was a hip alignment issue. She taught me exercises I could do myself at home. I really appreciated that she armed me with what I needed to get better without creating a dependency on going in for adjustments all the time. She took the time to explain how the muscles and bones were working with each other, and my pain significantly improved in one visit, and was completely gone in a few weeks. Kathleen is very knowledgeable and personable; she made me feel comfortable right away when I saw her the first time a few weeks ago. I was more than a little skeptical that PT could help me, but now I feel very hopeful that the exercises she tailored for me will help me improve both pelvic strength and control. It is true that she does not rush through her appointments, and they are a full hour. I was also impressed that she is not trying to prolong treatment/appointments beyond what is necessary, unlike some professionals I have seen in the past. I had had chronic shoulder pain since a biking accident years ago, and as it got worse my primary physician recommended Sage Physical Therapy. This was really the first time I'd needed a physical therapist and didn't know what to expect. From the very first visit, I knew that this was what I needed. I've been having chronic pelvic pain and back pain for months. I was referred to Kathleen by another PT over at Swedish Medical Center. After 2 months of treatment my back pain is mostly gone now! In addition, I have really toned up my abs and my butt, which my bf loves ^_^. I'm very happy with the results. I still have some lingering pain in my front abdominal and Kathleen has referred me to a massage therapist who specializes in organ massages. Kathleen is very skilled and really takes her time with patients. Her appointments are 1 hr long, vs 30 min from PTs at other medical facilities. She adds on a massage at the end of my session and it has really helped. Kathleen is very knowledgeable and personable. Moreover, she's upfront and honest with you about your progress and will not keep you for longer than you need to. In the past I've had acupuncturists who told me I should continue with their work even after 3+ months and no improvement. I highly recommend Kathleen! She is great! read more

No amount of words can describe how thankful I am for Katherine (physical therapist) and Lizette (personal trainer). Although there are other physical therapists at Sage, I specifically am treated by them. Not only have they helped with reducing my knee pain and strengthening my muscles, but they also made me feel very welcomed. Kathleen is the best physiotherapist I've ever experienced. She evaluates your entire body and identifies root cause imbalances and weaknesses that are driving symptoms. She taught me very simple and easy exercises to improve my strength, realign my pelvis and also greatly improved my running form. I had a long-standing pelvis issue that I could not figure out. I tried just resting it for several months, then other PTs, then going to doctors, but nothing worked. Eventually a doctor referred me to Kathleen, and she was able to identify and help me fix my problem. I was at the point where I thought I would have to live with this issue and not play soccer or do any other sprinting-heavy sports for the rest of my life. I was referred to Kathleen by a sports medicine specialist who was also recommending knee surgery, which I'm determined to avoid. Kathleen is the third PT I've tried and the first to get results of any kind. The exercises she gave me--starting with an easy pelvic alignment correction that I can do anywhere--provided immediate relief, and each visit saw further progress.
