I tried doing a phone appointment with them but I couldn't hear anything at all and the reader could not hear me either. I stopped and asked for a refund less than 5 minutes in but I never got the refund and it's been almost 2 weeks. I've called multiple times and they keep saying it went through on their end and there's nothing they can do. They told me contact squarespace, since my bank hasn't seen anything on their end, but I can't do without an account so I just feel like that should be their responsibility since it's their service. I have been coming in for readings for two years now. My go-to is Cindy as I feel like her readings are super in depth and have helped me the most. I feel like I can trust her to tell me the good as well as the bad. I've also seen Just, Deb, Beryl, Marie and Jenni. None of them have been wrong. And I always recommend them to my friends. You really have to go in with an open mind and heart. But I've always enjoyed the readings whether it was something I wanted to hear or not. I went here this weekend, knowing this was the other metaphysical store in the area and absolutely loved it. I did not meet any of the readers nor got one here, but I did browse for quite some time. There are books and topics that I never knew existed. I like the set up of this store because it goes according to subject. The price point here is right on, comparing to other stores. When we went in there was a short haired blond lady that was very understanding and sweet. I am ignorant to a lot of the stuff in here, but instead of making me feel stupid she would take the time to explain how things worked. She was the only one in there at the time so she was running the show answering the phones and customer questions so I wanted to give her props. Cute little shop hidden among the strip mall. Unless you are specifically looking for it, it's easy to miss. They are a spiritual shop / coffee stop venue. They carry a variety of items to include, but not limited to crystals, journals, sage, jewelry, incense, cards, books, gift items, Tibetan prayer flags in several different sizes to include travel size. I didn't try the coffee, however it did smell wonderful and I did note there were a variety of different blends. I love LOVE LOVE: MARIA at Kindred Journeys!!!!! If anyone has questions about my experience with Maria, please send me a message and I'd be happy to help. Maria disappeared and the shop was very rude and vague. Just like other reviewers mentioned about Kaylee, Kindred refused to pass any messages to Maria or honestly answer whether she would be returning. I'm guessing they have a non-compete or some lame overly strict rules that just make them look paranoid. Fine, but just BE HONEST and don't be so rude to your loyal, long-standing clients. Stop lying and saying "I DON'T KNOW" when you DO know! Kindred didn't even bother to call me and cancel my previously scheduled readings with Maria, and probably just planned to transfer me to someone else. Are they so insecure that they have to go to great lengths to hide the identity of their readers? Other spiritual shops are more transparent and open about their readers' identities and aren't threatened by their talents or their relationships with clients. It seems Kindred Journeys hopes you'll eventually give up on readers who left, and convert to another reader. Well, in today's world, it's not super hard to find someone ;-), so by being difficult you're just being lame. Why would clients get readings from a place that doesn't foster support and trust, and cares only about $$? Being honest actually helps KEEP clients, believe it or not! Clients will keep coming back and will be more willing to try someone new when you're open, honest and transparent. After my recent experiences in trying to get straight answers from Kindred Journeys, their rude and uncompassionate attitude, and how they handle such situations, I won't be coming back. I must admit, I was and still a bit skeptical about the whole thing and its mostly cuz I myself believe in anything is possible ideology but I haven't experienced it myself so I move very cautiously about the whole thing. My friend had gone here occasionally n the person she normally worked with wasn't here. I was seeking some questions to be answered and said what the heck, lets just do this and if it didn't work out, at least I know... Now there was bit of a time crunch cuz the individual we wanted to see, Sharon, had a class at 12 so my 15 minutes ($20 per) went by quickly. I can say that I had a general reading to see if there was anything she would pick up. I had a very positive experience and that's all that ill go into. I know it may not what all of you want to read but I can't say because I had a positive experience or she picked up on things that you will too have the same. But what I can say is that I wish I had more time with her to delve deeper and I would recommend her based off my short experience. read more

When you go by it, it can be almost easy to miss. When you go in, it is an atmosphere to be comfortable in. The people are incredibly personable and friendly, and hug even though it might be your first time in (don't worry, I have a feeling they feed off vibes so if you're not a touchy-feely person, no worries, they're not going to force it down your throat. I give it four stars because of the book selection - it's sort of sparse and I wish it did have more occult choices - I mean, it's all sort of foofy because instead of using the bookcases for optimum book-storage capacity, they dress it up with little "accessories" which I found annoying and in the way if you're a real bibliophile. They do readings and I have to say, I walked in just to look around, it being my first time in Oceanside. And I lingered reading, picked up some Tarot cards, and then I decided "What the hell, I'll do a 15 minute session with someone." Since I felt like going with a woman was my best bet, Cheryl took me into a small secluded dim room and proceeded to have me cut a tarot deck, and then she told my "fortune" so to speak. I expected a bunch of preordered madness, stuff I've been fed before by amateurs at my work, and then BAM, not five minutes in, she gave me stuff that NO ONE knows - including people in my life that SHE DOESN'T KNOW! It sounds like a bunch of phooey, god, I know it does the way I'm describing it - but it's true! She really got to me in a way no one has ever gotten to me before - so even though I live in Downtown L.A., I'd be willing to make the trip all the way down to Oceanside for a reading (as well as a variety of other stuff!) I must warn you, that as with everything else, not everyone will be suited for this place - it's more like, you're drawn to it or you're not. I've been to Kindred Journeys many times for readings and I always leave feeling better than when I came in. First off the store itself is adorable and has this calming energy about it when you walk in. They recently expanded their store and I must say it looks awesome! I have had readings by Monique and Marie at their after hours on thursdays. You can't go wrong with getting a reading from either of these gals, they are truly gifted. I have yet to have a reading from their other intuitives, but I sure will in the future. Monique and Marie have been on point with all the things they pick up on about me in my readings, and it sometimes scares me at how accurate they are. I know a lot of people are skeptics about this kind of thing but i'm a believer that there are some people in this world that are very intuitive. Just see for yourself. I enjoy having this shop in town. It really is the only of its kind. They have fair prices on crystals and incense and most other items in their store. I have not participated in any readings. However I thought it was a neat concept and business idea to have classes throughout the month to learn more about their various spiritual offerings (tarot reading, pendulums etc). This is a small location with a small collection of tumbled crystals, jewelry, books, smoke bundles and just about any basic metaphysical need. I really like their herbal selection. They have the basics like Sage, calendula, peppermint, lavender, etc... I also really like their incense collection. Yes! Still love this place! Monique was my psychic/ therapist and she was great! Life changing and eye opening experience! The owners daughter works the front desk and could care less about her mother's business. She answers the phone inappropriately, has gotten my appt times wrong 3 times and then lied to her co-workers saying I called in late, or that I was rude, etc.. When I offer to show her the time I called on the phone she replied that she wouldn't know how I could get that information to the manager. I drove from San Diego once to get a reading, got there on time, she had me wait 10 minutes because she was busy and then told the reader that I came in 10 minutes late. And wouldn't give me my full time because she got behind. That's bad karma for a spiritual shop. And her readings and a few others are abysmal. Con-artists in my opinion. The sad part is I attempted to discuss with the manager, who is her friend and they didn't give the complaint to the owner (her mother). Very sad. I wouldn't spend another dime on their readings.
