Here is my experience yesterday on the phone with Anna of King Auto Center's Service Department. Keep in mind that I have bought two new cars from this place in the past three years, one for myself, and one for my wife: I called the main number asking about getting my rear brake pads replaced and the woman who answered said that she would connect me. I then waited 15 rings, but no answer. I called back and the same woman said she would call this Anna to the line. Anna came on with a very curt and surly phone manner. I told her that I wanted my rear brake pads replaced and she said, "Hold on." No 'please', just the same rude phone manner. She then came back on and said "Tuesday 8am". No "Would Tuesday at 8am work for you", just the statement. Extremely rude woman! I asked for a later appointment and she said "We don't do afternoon appointments. By now I was getting irritated so I asked why their hours were so short. She mumbled something about not being able to guarantee they can finish on time. I said I'd take my chances. She then said "Wednesday 10am"! I just finished telling this idiot that I wanted an afternoon appointment. Then she finally said "Thursday 1pm". So! They DO have afternoon appointments, you just have to jump through hoops to get one. And then......wait for it.....she hung up!! This is in regard to a service appointment in Feb. 2015. I received a safety recall notice from Chrysler (for my Jeep) stating that a fuel leakage may be experienced in certain types of rear end collisions. Their solution is to install a factory trailer hitch mount at no charge, and on vehicles with such a hitch already installed (my situation) they would inspect it for any issues. So I called King Auto and the service writer encouraged me to bring my vehicle in, stating vaguely that there is another piece that may need to be installed, and all Jeeps brought in so far with a hitch already mounted have needed this piece. So I waited two weeks for this mysterious part to arrive and then went in for the service. When I arrived, I spoke to the service manager. He was unfamiliar with this additional piece, and said that because I already had a hitch installed, they'd simply be inspecting it for any damage or mounting issues. Unless something was amiss, I'd be out in about an hour. Even though it seemed like a waste of time already, I went through with it because I was already there, and thought it would be wise for the eventual resale of the vehicle. Also, it was better than the 4 hours the recall prepared me to wait for a full install. I let the service manager know I'd be waiting in the customer lounge. After two hours and no word, I figured they found an issue and were working on a solution. After three and a half, I went outside to look for my vehicle. There it was, sitting in the space for completed vehicles waiting pick-up. When I went in to inquire, the manager told me that the inspection revealed no defects, and I was good to go. His demeanor indicated I should be pleased with the results! I asked how long the vehicle had been sitting there, and he said about two hours. This means not only did it take two hours for them to look at my hitch, but also two hours had passed without an attempt to contact me. No one came to the customer lounge. No one called my cell phone (they had the #). I was able to refrain from using any course or loud language, how I do not know, because there was not one apology ever issued. Never were the words "sorry" or "regret" used, nor was the tone remotely sympathetic. In fact, the response to each criticism was, and i quote, "it is what it is". The slightest bit of empathy would have spared them this review. I understand things happen - maybe someone called in sick that day, maybe each vehicle ahead of me had some extraneous issues that put them behind schedule. But to offer no remorse for the 4 hours it took to look at a hitch? I also know I didn't buy the vehicle new from them, and I didn't pay for this service (though the manufacturer does reimburse them for these things), so I'm probably low-priority. I purchased a car here less than a year ago it was one of their service loaner vehicles 2012 Dodge Durango only had 14k miles on it, within a month of buying it I had to have the front brake rotors replaced due to vibration and grinding (repairs cost covered under the warranty). They told me at the time that my back brakes were going to start giving me problems soon but the wear wasn't enough for the warranty to cover the cost of repair. I took the car back in a couple weeks ago due to vibration and grinding and I am told that my back brake rotors need replacing and that my warranty did not cover the cost of repair. So today I called to talk to the service department about this and I am told the reason my warranty won't cover the repair is because I have a little rust on my brake pads. I asked him why he didn't put a treatment on them to prevent rust when I had it there before, he says oh there's no way of preventing them from rusting. So I said there's nothing I can do to prevent this but this makes my warranty void. I paid 36k for a car from what I am told is a reputable dealership, get my oil changed there so all service records are kept with the dealership and in less than a year I have to start paying for expensive repairs while the vehicle is still under the factory warranty (I also purchased an expensive extended warranty to cover the car after the factory warranty is over). If King Auto Center does not take care of this problem I will never purchase another vehicle from them again and will continue to post on social media my extreme disappointment! read more

Worst place I've ever been. Had my dream truck listed on their website. I have a substantial down payment, great income, 0 debt. I've been waiting for my dream truck to finally arrive on island. I get there, wait 20 minutes in their lobby before having to call and ask for help. Get this clown Shannon that comes to help. He had no idea about his product. Told me the heat sink for the fuse box was the e-torque system then said it was the coolant and back and forth between all kinds of made up crap. Argues with me about my truck being offered in the trim level I wanted, even though I told him I've test driven them before. I end up leaving his office with both of us starting each other down. After he had called me a liar about driving my dream truck. Then, 2 hours later, clown calls me saying they found my exact truck on Oahu!!!! This place couldn't care less about customers. Go Servco. Ask for Randy. Guy is legend. Servco was 1000% better. read more

Important to note this review is about the service department. I have no experience with King Auto sales. I went to King to buy a new key to replace lost original. Knew it was going to be expensive. Quoted $170 including $60 for "programming" which I eventually waited more than two hours to have done. Got home and found out the "fob" portion of my other key no longer worked. I called the service manager to find out what they did. He said they couldn't have done anything to make the other key stop working and insisted the battery must have died. Hmmm...at exactly the same time they programed the new key? Replaced battery--key still did not work. So I did some research and found that when you program one key for my car, you must program all of the keys during the same session. Otherwise, the existing keys stop working when the new one is programmed. AND, anybody with half a brain can program two or three keys in ten minutes for free. following online instructions. FYI- I'm talking about the "fob" portion of the key that locks the doors, etc., not the immobilizer chip, which has to be programmed by Honda or a locksmith. I went to an authorized dealer and paid more than I really needed to because I presumed they would know all the ins and outs of setting up a new key. Thanks for nothing, King Auto. read more

I recently bought a certified pre owned vehicle from king auto. It cost $23,000.00 then after financing around thirty thousand. For me that's a lot of money I thought I work hard as long as I love my car its worth it.They said the car was all serviced up to date but it was a BMW so they don't service these at king auto center but assured me it was serviced at the local authorized BMW place. Not more than two weeks after I had my car it overheats. I understand that its not a brand new car but the computer was saying service overdue .I called KING auto center to ask about the service records to investigate what servicing was actually done on the car. They said to me you didn't get an extended warranty what do you expect cars are made to break. We are done and cant do anything for you. After a few more days I called again to pick up the servicing records. They were supposed to be at the front desk for me. Why because all of a sudden no one wanted anything to do with me like I was making trouble for them. The only records they gave me were the air conditioning service. I called again requesting the service records again. Then after a few more days they said they had the records of the servicing they did there on the car .I was confused because they said a number of times that they don't service BMWs there because they are not authorized to do so. needless to say. I was not treated respectfully or professionally it cost me eighteen hundred dollars to fix the car and they said the car had not been serviced and still needs servicing. I thought a certified pre owned car meant that they are giving me their word that the car was inspected and serviced. I cut hair now that's a lot of haircuts to pay my car off. When I go to work I like to think I provide great service. I think if I sold cars for a living I would be ashamed to treat my customers in this manner. Jonquil Simons read more
