We have been looking for somewhere to bring my son to get his hair cut and not just any place can cut his hair. He has two Cowlicks, one on each side of his head that makes looking good after a haircut, actual work! Took him to many places to get a cut by a non barber and well... yeah.. Man, oh man [[HIGHLIGHT]]this location changes barbers owner every week looks like they don't have same barber/reliable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] to make sure I went in with my son for a general fade and beard and my son a fade. I'm not sure if this was my mistake but when they told me the price, they said it was 60 per cup. I told him the price is online say 30 a cup you said those are old prices. We need to update that and I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the fact that they changed Barbershop owner every week. read more

My son has gone here a few times for his haircut. His barber was Andrew and he was very professional and friendly. He made my son feel comfortable, especially since my son loves his mane and didn't really want to cut it. He did a great job and my son was wedding ready. He was timely and paid attention to detail and my son was happy with his haircut. There's walk-ins but I recommend calling for an appointment because weekends can get busy. read more

I personally have never been to Kingsley's Barbershop, I live in Los Angeles. I actually found it while looking for a barbershop that could cut African American hair in the Santa Clara/San Jose area. A little over a year ago, my son (hairstyle: locs at the top & faded on the sides) transferred to Santa Clara University (SCU). As a good mom, I looked for all the resources my son would need to live comfortably while being away from home. I provided him with a list of resources and Kingsley was on the list for barber shops. My son told me that it was too far away and that he would try a shop near campus. It's only 4 miles away, but he didn't have his car with him at the time. He did find a few good barbers, but they were unfortunately transient, being there for only a short time. A few weeks ago, he told he had to find another new barber because the one he had was gone. I reminded him about the one I found called "Kingsley!" I sent him the information again and told him to call and make an appointment. He made an appointment and convinced a friend to make one too. They went and my son texted me after saying, "This barbershop is legit, I found my new place! Thanks Mom!" As a mom, that's way you wanna hear. The fact that I told him to go to Kingsley's and he finally listened. His friend (who is biracial) who has been at SCU three years and has also had difficulty in finding someone to properly cut his hair. He loved Kingsley too, saying he wished he knew about the barbershop earlier. To Kingsley Barbershop, you should reach out to Santa Clara University, San Jose State, and Stanford University's Black Student Unions and tell them that you have barbers who can properly groom their hair. Print up some flyers or use social media to get these young men and women into your business. My son has another appointment this Tuesday, before he goes to Hawaii for spring break. TRASH customer service. I called up there twice to book an appointment with Reece and whoever answered the phone told me that I had to keep calling back to see IF he'll be up there. This person clearly didn't want to be at work & didn't want to be bothered. I called another day to try and book said appointment & was met with the same unhelpful energy. I asked to speak to someone else & he hung up on me. Reece was great the first time I had a cut with him but won't be returning to this shop. If you lack basic level people skills, maybe you aren't equipped for something as simple as answering the phone. read more

Pushed my line up back and didn't even fade me right still had long hairs. Then still charged me $48! I asked if he can correct it several times and he'd give me attitude. They always have good music and they conduct themselves appropriately when kids are in the shop. They have the children's books in barbershops program going on here which is so awesome.
