Lisa and Sienna were both very friendly and helped me right away due to a cancellation. Lisa's dog was also nicely perched at the counter greeting clients. I showed Lisa and Sienna what my dress and shoes look like and asked for recommendations. I tried a few veils of different styles and lengths, but nothing really called out to me. Lisa went digging and came back with the veil of my dreams. I knew I had to buy the veil after trying it on. It was an absolute gorgeous statement piece. He eyeballed the size and nailed it pretty much on the first try! I never felt like I was bothering him with our nitpicky requests or preferences--he actually seemed excited that we were willing to express them, so he could be confident we'd be happy with the end result. So quick, so painless, and not at the cost of quality or for an absurd price. At no point did I feel like he was upselling or trying to push us towards more expensive options, or misrepresenting the costs. My partner normally dislikes shopping and fashion, and was hesitant to even go today, but we really needed to get him a suit for a wedding next week. We went in on Thursday and needed the tux by Saturday, and they were able to accommodate a Saturday pickup, which we really appreciated. The manager of the store refused to let the bride try on dresses because of a 6-month rule! (Basically your wedding can't be more than 6-months away) It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! Lol Anyway, although the location/selection of the shop is impressive for dtla, I would 1000% NOT recommend this store. There are several stores that carries higher end selections -- this store carried the cheap versions but their "new rule" is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Haa 9 months out is not unusual to look for a wedding dress as you need to set the tone of the wedding. I wasn't going to argue -- dresses like theirs are a dime a dozen down there so we just left. She found a nice dress 5 stores down so their loss. Very disappointing as an event stylist, as I have brought/sent several clients in to purchase dresses from this establishment... not no more. Of course their attitude changed a bit when they saw that I was with them and not 4 young girls alone.... not sure if the sales team thought a set of girls were trying on wedding dresses for fun in the shithole of LA.... news flash, people only go there to find a deal haa. As an event stylist, my advice is to try other small stores in dtla before this one. Pretty much all stores carry the same dresses anyway-- we found the same styles approx $25 cheaper elsewhere, sales reps were very accommodating (although the sales girl at Trendy looked mortified when the older asian manager told me the aforementioned) and the other store threw in alterations of the bodice/sleeves included -- SCORE! My bride really only needs to pay for a hem and bussle so the new bridal shop saved her more, more, more!! Will NEVER have one of my young brides be embarrased & feeling discriminated against. Shame on them....
