Very disappointed with this company. I called and spoke with a gentleman and got a quote for what I needed. Once the locksmith came out the price was over three times the original quote. Be very careful because you'll get a initial quote, but they don't stand by there quotes once they are at your home. read more

I've had my SUV for 9 years, NEVER have lost the one key I had.... until last night. My biggest fear was i would've had to wait hours or weeks to get a new one, and how much the dealer was gonna take away from my wallet. I had several people call me about a quote and it was about the same. What made me choose this company was the astonishing reviews, the loyalty and respect people gave this business. With so many options on yelp you honestly don't know who to trust. One of the business's rated higher than this company gave me bad information. The gentleman was nice, but he didn't give me the proper information. He said he needed a code to get my chip working (my SUV is 11 years old... they didn't even have chips like they do now lol) and that GMs systems were down. Without that code, he couldn't make me a key. Come to find out of course that wasn't true. None of what he said was true. I called earlier in the day about noon, (KING KEY) he advised me he had 2 appointments to attend, and he'll see me at 3. I look at my phone, it's 3 on the dot and he was already working on my keys! I have never been so impressed with the speed of someone's work and knowledge about the business. There were no games, no fishy business and it was straight to the point. I don't even know where to start. If you or ANYONE you know needs a locksmith...PLEASE save your self the time and call Joey with King Key lock smith. I initially called Joey to get a price to replace my care key who ever answered the phone was very polite and extremely helpful. I then called back wondering if they could get me an exact price of the work they were going to do. (which no one had been able to do) Joey called me back within a matter of ten minutes and gave me an exact price which was extremely reasonable. He then said give me 30 minutes and I will be there.. 30 minutes later...he was there. I have a 2004 Nissan that only starts with a computer chipped key to prevent theft, well I accidentally broke the key right where the chip was and it would no longer start my car. I did have a spare, but is not chipped either so at this point I was desperate. Come to find out my key was very old and worn out and he couldn't make a copy of it. But he was able to make a copy of my spare key and turn it into a chipped key within a matter of 10 minutes MAX! To top it all off he then was able to program a remote to lock and unlock my car. IT DID NOT COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG EITHER. Seriously though this guy is amazing. From the first initial phone call to the hand shake when arriving at my home! HE IS A MIRICALE worker. I lost the only key to my Jeep that I had. The dealership told me I'd have to wait a day for them to order the key, then have it towed to them for programming. Update 9/4/16: I wish I have gotten the chance to do an updated review earlier but was just too busy. Anyway, within a couple of hours after writing my initial review, the owner of this business Joey called me to personally apologize on behalf of the worker that did my service. He was very sincere and very apologetic. He had stated that the worker does not work for him anymore and it was not the first time someone complained about that certain worker. It's ashamed that it just takes one bad apple to make business look bad. However, back to the owner Joey. He has big heart and is very passionate about his business. He cares about giving 5 star service, and there's nothing more important to him than his customers. Joey went out of his busy way (he just had a newborn baby) to come meet me, and personally apologize about my experience. And mind you, it was about 9 at night. Not only that, he gave me back cash for the services. That was a really nice gesture. I was hesitant on accepting back the cash (seeing how big hearted he was), but he insisted. We talked for a while, actually got to know him. I will be giving Joey another shot in the future. He is a really good guy. I can now see why he has such raving reviews, it's just that the bad apples that have to ruin it. Amazing customer service. I had an item which I had lost the key for. I called and the scheduled me to bring the item into their location (to save me money versus them coming to me). I hardly ever leave Yelp reviews, unless the service is outstanding or horrible. I bought a house and needed it to be rekeyed. Got quotes from a few places, and the best was Joey at King Key. He was communicative throughout the whole process, let me know when he left, when he was close and when he couldn't find my house (cause I gave him the wrong address. Oops). He got here, introduced himself, took a look at my locks and went right to work. One of my locks was badly damaged, and he showed me how it was damaged and why I needed to replace it instead of just saying "oh this is broken you need a new one" and charging me for it. Throughout the whole process he let me know what he was doing, and made conversation with me. He was the nicest person I could've ever asked to come over to change my locks. Fantastic service! Some dirt bag broke into my car and ruined my drivers side lock. I got a replacement from the dealer but I needed it to work with my current set of keys. Wasn't about to use one for my ignition and one for my door. So before I installed the new lock I gave Joey a ring. I explained to him I had a small job, he gave me a reasonable quote over the phone (less than 1/2 the cost of what another place quoted me), and shortly there after he was at my place. About 5 minutes after he started working, I had a lock that worked with the main key for my car and I was elated! Has been a real pain dealing with the broken lock for all of this time. Watch out for these guys as they will take advantage of you. I had re-keys done a month ago for two doors, they told my wife $25 for each lock and I have 4 (2 in each door-- a deadbolt and doorknob for each door). It turns out one door has a damaged lock and the tech replaced it with a new set (knob and deadbolt). He also sold 4 new copies of keys. I was charged $400! I also saw those set of knobs and deadbolts at walmart costing about $19. I asked another locksmith company and I was told it would not even exceed $200.
