Simply the best-Run by a great bunch of people and family! Pretty and perky girls and friendly polite guys always happy to help. Has long surpassed the Dairy Queen in Montvale as the place to get your summer ice cream fix. They open for St Pats parade and earlier and already in this early time are getting a nice crowd. Sometimes just jammed but brings you back to a different time. You have to try the orange and vanilla swirls!! But everyone loves whatever they get be it a shake or hot fudge or swirls. Favorite place to go when craving ice cream. Get the vanilla soft serve with Oreo. They give you actual Oreo pieces not just the crumbs. The place gets very crowded on summer nights. Also remember it is cash only. I wish it stayed opened year round! read more

King Kone ice cream has the best ice cream and the friendliest service even during Covid!

Chocolate ice cream is good but service not so good. I purchased a regular sized cone of the Dole Strawberry ice cream for my daughter and it tastes like water frozen with strawberry flavor added. Since I was still in the parking lot I called to ask if we could return it and was told they couldn't take it back but I could get another one. When I got to the window I spoke to the same employee who assisted me. He told me he could make me a vanilla cone for me but I would have to pay for it. Hmm, I just paid $8.50 for two cones and left you the tip and you're telling me I have to pay for a replacement? I immediately asked for the manager. Grace the manager didn't seemed concerned that she didn't have a satisfied customer, but told me this has never happened before. I find that hard to believe no one ever complained about a flavor. Grace gave me a small vanilla cone although I purchased a regular size and told me, "I can't just be giving away free ice cream." Maybe, just maybe she could have said that a little nicer. After explaining the issue again, standing in the blazing sun, with a face mask and trying to keep my chocolate cone from melting, Grace made a small vanilla cone instead of the size I purchased. I did leave a $1.50 tip to the employee that made the cones, but I'll leave another one here. Post signage that has your policy clearly noted. No refunds or exchanges. If you don't like the flavor we don't care. Grace, please remember A happy customer will ALWAYS return! You stand to make so much more than the cost of that one discarded Dole Strawberry ice cream cone. read more

There are so many choices to choose from, and I'd say this place is better than Carvel. The parking is a but rough whenever it's busy, but there is a lot of seating to eat. read more

Ohhh King Kone.. such fond memories of summer time as a kid scrounging up all the money I had so I could walk up to Middletown Road and score myself an ice cream cone! More than 20 years later and this place is still exactly the same. It is an awesome family owned ice cream shack serving all different kinds of ice cream and frozen yogurt options ranging from cups, to cones, to shakes with topping galore. Please be careful. Went there tonight and the 2 people in the group that got vanilla soft serve are now sick. Something must have went wrong in the making of the ice cream. Now I am turned off from the place and will need to avoid it. I advise you to do the same. Spoiled ice cream can make you very sick. read more

Only open in the summer, this is one of those old skool Ice Cream shops. It used to be a Diary Queen. When DQ did the modernization thing, the owners of this franchise decided that if it wasn't broke, they weren't going to fix it, so they opted out and went independent. Now they do a raging business 5 months out of the year. Great for hot summer nights when the sun hasn't gone down yet and you're looking for some ice cold delights. read more

Awesome ice cream however what annoys me is the lack of consistency. I order a large cone every time I visit. Sometimes it's actually a large and other times its small to regular. No telling till they come back to the window what you're going to end up with. I appreciate the teens being responsible by working however, maybe additional training would help. This place has been here forever. It serves custard which is more rich and creamy in my opinion. I prefer it over regular soft serve ice cream you can get anywhere. They also great hard ice cream flavors, sundaes, shakes, malted's, egg creams and slushes. I like the orange ice vanilla twist too. There are picnic tables outside so you can have a seat. read more

I ordered a strawberry milkshake today and was very disappointed. It was made with strawberry syrup and vanilla ice cream instead of strawberry ice cream. It was basically nesquik strawberry milk. I asked the girl working the register if I could have a small ice cream instead and I would throw the "fake" shake out. So she made it for me then tried to charge me for it. I clearly explained that I would give the shake back because I was disappointed, so she spoke with a manager. when she came back to the window she said the manager said she had to charge me for it. I did not get the ice cream and was stuck with a shake I did not like. Instead of trading the shake for the ice cream that she ALREADY MADE for me, King Kone would rather throw it out because I wouldn't pay again. I guess King Kone doesn't understand the concept of customer satisfaction. I am a born and raised in Pearl River, and have been a loyal customer for years...
