I grew up near this grocery, and it was fun to come back to it for a visit over Christmas break. My dad was saying how he always loved their red skin potato salad, so I got him a pound of that and got my mom a 20 pound sack of Carolina rice (which, ironically, seems nowhere to be found around here. I went in there to buy some baby aspirin for my wife tonight I was treated very rudely by the cashier there! And a few days earlier I was in the line at the deli department and the next on in line , while 2 deli employees stood in the back and didn't ask to help me. After waiting 5 minutes I went to a different store. In my 60 years I have never been treated so rudely like I have been a King Kullen manorville. read more

The best King Kullen in the area! Center Moriches & Eastport too. I don't understand the negative reviews. Yes, the pricing is a bit higher on most items but not all items. The convenience for not having to catch a ride to Riverhead grocery stores is worth a few more dimes. The employees are hardworking & courteous. BEWARE check all expiration dates! This has to be the WORST King Kullen on the island. I give it one star for the few employees that are nice and helpful otherwise they'd get zero. You have to check the expiration dates on everything. I have on several occasions purchased outdated items and I don't mean by a couple days I mean by weeks and have had to be inconvenienced by driving back up to return the item. Customer service seems annoyed when you bring an item to them instead of being apologetic. I mentioned one such item on the shelf to the manager and when I went back the following week the items were still there. I try not to go here whenever possible but sometimes it's just out of convenience. Store never has enough check outs open. Who is managing this place and who is overseeing the poor management!! I lied in prior review; said I'd never go back but had to in a pinch.. again I'll say never again. While front cashiers are typically friendly (over 60 crew), customer service not so much (excluding Younger tall guy). 2 middle aged women could use friendly lessons from cashiers.. KK has dropped in their ratings; besides being overly priced their customer service people make it an unpleasant experience. King Kullen in Manorville has really been going downhill the last couple of years and I'm not really sure why. Business itself has picked up as the Hamptons and surrounding areas continue to grow and Manorville remains the "gateway" or hub that everyone stops at. King Kullen is still a good supermarket, but were it was once more go to place for food shopping it is not a place I stop in when I forget an ingredient for dinner. I've noticed that there produce is lacking the freshness I once praised them for, and their selection is almost none existence these days. I don't know if it is an inventory issue or what, but they've really slipped and its sad. read more

When we moved into the neighborhood we went here because it was close. From now on we will try to do better elsewhere. There were a number of annoyances that may seem small but they do add up. Such as. In New York the stores charge you a nickel per plastic bag. OK, that's the way it is but my wife got a torn bag And the cashier seemed ready to call the police because we took another one without paying. There is a sign on the door that says any photography is prohibited unless authorized by the manager. Seriously? Do they think that we are spies for ShopRite? There was only one line open for quite a few people and we had to do our own bagging which slowed things down. And oh yes, they don't even have the courtesy to provide Wi-Fi. The store is clean,the produce is fresh but not organic and the staff is helpful. Nonetheless next time we will try someplace else. read more

Let me start off by saying i hate this king kullen but it's so convenient. i came in last week for my weekly cold cuts and the fat lady was working the deli counter. when i tell you she is the nastiest most miserable person i have EVER met. all she ever does is bitch about her job and is rude to customers. i'm standing at the deli counter for 20 MINUTES today waiting for my kiosk order to be called ( i already got everything else i needed ) never before me? called. number after me? called. mine was not. not once did they ask me why i was standing there or if i was being helped. instead she lastly asked in the nastiest attitude "what are you waiting for" and made a face. then mumbled something snarky. i've been in customer service for 9 years and i have never ever would have thought about acting/talking to customers like her. this store needs to get control of their employees and put them through extensive customer service training. on the bright side, the guy Mario i believe his name was who checked me out was beyond sweet!!! read more

How can King Kullen management allow people to gouge their aisles of food and not be mindful of the problem everyone is facing in accessing food and supplies, total disregard for their real customers and the elderly, at least Stop and Shop gives seniors a time to shop, they do not even deserve the one star rating read more

If I could do no stars, I would. My wallet broke at the cashout and I thought I got all my cards but missed a$100 gift card to Shoprite. I realized it a couple of hours after I got home. I went back and the nice young cashier said "Teresa found a card _ check up front". The card was not there. I asked for the manager who seemed quite annoyed with the cashier for telling me that and was whispering to the young cashier so I wouldn't hear. I showed him the receipt from Shoprite showing $24.73 left on the card. I was told Teresa left early (I guess so) He said he would contact teresa. The next morning he called early and was happy to report he had the card, that it was in the wrong place. I was happy to pick it up until I checked the balance of $24.73 was reduced to 69 cents. I called the manager Marty and he put words in my mouth and said he had to turn it over to corporate. Corporate Security has now investigated ME.!! Tom Moore, security said "it looks good for you" and Director Stan Jacobsen (retired NYPD he says) will finally allow my $24.04 released , not altogether sure that I do not make a career of cheating grocery stores out of $24.04 at a time. He has to make sure they are not accusing an innocent person, even checking cameras at Shoprite!! a serious corporation would make sure the customer was happy and conduct internal investigations privately. King Kullen has now lost over $4000 a year in sales and prescriptions over $24.04. read more

We have lived in this area for 6 years. Over time, customer service has declined. Last week was the final straw. My husband went in to pick up an item that the store manager told him would be behind the courtesy counter. He went to ask, and the young "lady" (using the term loosely) stopped him mid sentence and said they didn't have it. He asked her to page the manager and she said no. He asked her if she could get someone to check the back and she said "no, we don't carry that". (Not true!) He walked to the back of the store, and found someone to get the item for him. He brought it back up front and told her they they DID have it and that she shouldn't be rude and lazy. As he checked out, she screamed across the store that he could go "F*#@ himself!!". Everything and everyone stopped and stared at her. My husband has since repeatedly tried to contact the store manager and he has yet to return a call. We will not go back to that store ever.. The older gentleman who was stocking in the aisle was really courteous and helpful here and I've shopped at other King Kullen locations before on LI with no problems at all but this place really has some God awful staff at check out. You know it's bad when you feel compelled to say to the cashier, "I'm here shopping so that you can have a paycheck!" Never again will I ever shop at this location. Steer clear. read more

This is one of the nicer King Kullens I've seen. I typically shop at Whole Foods for the majority of my groceries, but this store is very clean and has a bunch of staples, including some organic necessities for my house. I'd prefer a bigger produce department and more organic varieties and a self checkout, but the cashiers are nice and I have no problem shopping there for items I've forgotten during the week. read more

Deserves 0 stars. Ryan (who is supposedly the cover manager) informed me at 8:08 PM that he could not get me any clams from the seafood department because they closed at 8:00 PM and they are under a different union and he cant touch their product. What!?!? I am a local and shop at this store out of convenience but will now make the additional 5 minute drive for courtesy and common sense. Good job Ryan! I live in Manorville and love this king kullen, its very clean and always fully stocked. However, I have to give it 2 stars because I believe because of its location (being on the way to the hamptons) it is overpriced. My mom always scolds me when I buy groceries from there haha but only because its the most expensive food store in the area read more

Capitalizing on its monopoly here even more than in King Kullen's other weak locations, this grocery store is patronized by those living in the area who have no other options and those passing through to whom price is not an issue. Adding insult to injury for locals, in the summer it's packed with citidiots, but at least their business allows them to remain open later as a result. The only positive of this place is that they (VERY SELDOM) carry hard-to-find-on-LI brands at sale prices once every 2 years or so (no joke and no conspiracy theorist here, but they also tend to hide said sale items or move them to the back DURING the sale, or not carry half the items in the circular you receive less than a mile away). The selection is weak and the only saving grace of an experience here is the (typically) friendly young cashiers. Lack of a self checkout isn't so terrible given their double-coupon policy for the occasional one they do expect. The Manorville KK doesn't quite render Manorville a food desert, but I'd rather have grown up near a bodega than this excuse for a local supermarket. No self-checkout. read more

This is a fairly run-of-the-mill grocery store. Selection is reasonable, but not exciting. Premium products (fancy cheeses, for instance) are somewhat scarce. Prices are in line with what one would expect for the area. read more

I don't know why this place only has three stars. KK is a really nice supermarket, easy to navigate and never gets TOO crowded except for in the summers. Yes it is a little bit more pricey than other places but it's right by the Hamptoms, what do you expect? The food is also fresher so you really do get what you pay for. Hey there...I've been shopping here for off & on for 8 years. Id say definitely more off then on due to high prices. I live here in Manorville... so I'll normally do all of my big shopping out in Riverhead to save money. I'll only go to King Kullen to pick up a few thing here and there, or if I have no time to make a trip into Riverhead. So today I end up going there for about 15 items or so. The store was fairly empty when it was time to check out. So I jumped on the express check out line as there was no one there. As I'm paying... One of the employees from the courtesy desk calls the check out clerk & tells him to tell me that I had to many items & not to use the express line anymore when I have more then 10 items. Not to mention I can hear the person on the other end of the phone screaming & flipping out about having 4 items more then the 10 recommended. I felt bad for the check out kid & I was seriously embarrassed for them! Not very professional at all. Seriously... Are you kidding me??? What happens when its 10 mins before closing & the only check out line is express? I guess I'll never know. You just lost another awesome customer. read more
