    Large combination pizza

My first issue is they have no updated menu. The only thing they have that has current pricing is the paper menu they have under plastic in front of cash register with old prices crossed out and new prices written in. This means anyone going by the old menu they find online while ordering over the phone, will be paying more than they think when they get there. To me, this is also could be an indication on how much the proprietors of this place really care. If they don't care enough to at least supply current paper menus, then why would I think they actually care about the pizza they're putting out? Unfortunately, I did not care for the pizza. Had almost no flavor even with all the toppings. I did really like the wedges! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and perfectly seasoned. We got one large specialty pizza and a large order of wedges which came out to just over $37. Just not worth it to me. I will not be back. I will say the employees were very friendly. Which is why I would give service by itself a four star.

Well I haven't been to King Leo's in about 20 years I think the last time I went to King Leo's it was on Columbus and Haley back in the day so we went to the one on Niles for the first time in a while Got pizzas of course chicken wings and some wedges pitcher of Dr pepper Pizza was good don't get me wrong chicken wings were on point and we knocked out the wedges The only problem I got is that there's no refills and you got to be $299 for another glass of soda come on man that's not cool really but hey the atmosphere was good it was okay but there was a party going on so it was kind of loud so that wasn't cool there's not many games over there to play they got a two or three games to play and all that good stuff it doesn't seem like it's kid oriented like it used to be in a day so that kind of turned us off too cuz I got grandkids and they like pizza so I rather go ahead and go to John's incredible where they can play and get all the pizza and dr inks they want understand this is a local business they've been in business for years and decades but that's all good too but yeah they got to change up the way they do stuff because they're $2.99 for a 16 oz of soda is crazy for a refill Play still looks like it's stuck in the '90s bathrooms are terrible come on man

Giving King Leo's the five stars they deserve not because they are the old school or childhood pizzeria we grew up on but because they delivered on some good quality pizza. We ordered the special which was one X-Large Combination and a Large Pepperoni, we did order a large order of wedges but didn't care for them but this review is on the pizza and the customer service. The pizza was great, in my opinion it's a bit thicker than the old times but the pizza dough was good, toppings tasted fresh, not greasy and even better if you have for leftovers. As busy as they get the young staff handle themselves with great composure. Keep dishing out that great pizza!

Been there about 5 times and it's been great! Pizza is delicious! Can sometimes be too crowded with bday parties...but pizza wise it's met the hype!

I had such high hopes for this favorite childhood pizza place and they were all for nothing. The first thing I noticed walking in was no one was eating, but everyone was waiting for their food. I am a very understanding person but waiting 2 hours for a small pizza and wedges is a little ridiculous. Plus I got a drink and they didn't even offer free refills for the anyone waiting over an hour. Overall, very disappointed. Don't waste your time food not worth the wait .

We were finally able to check out King Leo's and it didn't disappoint. We ordered an XL combination and received a second large 1 topping for $7.99, both were delicious just like the good old days. The staff was attentive, friendly and the restaurant was clean. We Will defiantly be coming back again.

Nostalgia. King Leo's was a local staple growing up on the East Side of Bakersfield. Many had chuck e Cheese we had king Leo's. As a member of the community and a local non-profit king Leo's was a huge supporter of us and our organization. The pizza is everything you remember. The service is fantastic. Tom and Jon back behind the counter is great to see. They were constantly checking on customers. Making sure their needs were met. A must taste in the Kern County Area.

Pizza taste like store bought pizza. Crust was hard. Almost like cardboard. Plus the manager yelling at teenage employees.

We were craving something that felt a bit healthier but still flavorful and filling. We both ordered bowls. Mine had rice, double chicken, nopales, grilled onions, and pico de gallo. It was so fresh and satisfying with the perfect amount of flavor. My friend built a bowl with Mexican rice, steak, black beans, lettuce, grilled onions, avocado, and sour cream and I have to admit, I tried a bite and it was just as tasty! Another thing I loved was how fast everything the service was. Even during the lunch rush, the staff was super efficient. The ambience was casual and fast paced, so it makes it the perfect stop for a quick, delicious, and satisfying lunch.

When we first started going to VMG, it was absolutely amazing. Totally! We kept going back, and…read morethe last few times - well, let's say it was less than amazing. Wonder why? It started to seem like it was "hit and miss" and by that I mean that it all depends on whom you are TRYING to interact and COMMUNICATE with behind the glass...the line crew. Most of them, NOT ALL, seem to have a gigantic CHIP on their shoulder about the size of the Grand Canyon, if not bigger. Or wait, is it because listening has become a lost art? That's a pretty loud statement, but honestly, when you ask for "veggies" and you get whatever they give you, that signals volumes that they (the line crew) do not want to listen. If so, why is that...when it is the customer that is paying their salaries so they can have a job? Does that really make any sense at all? These 20ish or so individuals also seem to not want to work by not acknowledging their customers...Hey, maybe they should find another job or just not work at all and submerse themselves in their cell phones that don't require human interaction whatsoever? Maybe that's it! Has this newer 'generation' even had to deal with the realities of life or acknowledge another human being that has white or gray hair that is not chemically treated? Guess they think they'll never get old. My dear departed mother always used to say "If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing it right!" And, of course, Momma is ALWAYS right. So, in summary, SADLY, the Mt. Vernon location has been "hit and miss" recently. Go there if you don't mind getting what they want to give you. It should not be difficult to get what you ask for - but it seems to be - because of their "NON-VERBAL" messages. Quite hypocritical, wouldn't you say??? Dang it! Used to LOVE this place!
