No buffet anymore ( at least not yet) due to covid AND poorly planned road construction. HOWEVER , the quality is still there, they can make it however you request: one of us likes it spicy, and they do it right, not just by adding more red pepper flakes like some. No MSG?Just ask. Fried rice instead of white, no problem. Cashews instead of peanuts, sure. Need it now? They'll have it ready before you can get there (unless you order on one of the nights a local factory places an order for 25 or more dinners at the same time you do) then you might have to wait another 5 minutes! read more

Have not been here since Covid hit for the buffet but was in there beginning of April 2023 for the Buffay and it was very good. It's a quiet little place with just enough on the buffet for you to enjoy. read more

King China Buffet in Conneaut Ohio, is always a hit or miss. If you arrive at 11:30am - 1:00 and 4:30pm - 5:30, you are most likely to have a "pretty decent" meal. Fresh, well seasoned and substantial variety. How ever, what food is prepared at these times is what your going to get at all the other times they are open. The majority of King Buffets business it seems comes from carry out, if you do not dine between the times stated, you are going to be eating overheated, mashed up, manhandled leftovers. They do not have a lot of flow through the dining room so when the first food service is set up in the buffet, that's the food that stays until dinner service, with very few refreshing of the dishes. One of my least favorite things that happens quite often when dining in, is the one and only waitress in the dinning room is either making dumplings or cutting vegetables or sweeping the floor. Notice, without washing hands in between serving customers, cleaning and handling food and picking up dirty dishes slobbered on by previous patrons. That being said, when you first arrive at King China Buffet you enter through the pickup counter and kitchen. Area, which is always clean and organized as a typical takeout Chinese restaurant, again nothing elaborate. To the left is the entrance to the dinning room. Again always clean, and typical Chinese restaurant decor. A picture of the great wall on one wall and a simple buffet table with about 30 selections garnished with pink and blue neon lights. The washrooms are simple usually clean but dated, but I never hold this against a restaurant of this caliber. You can never go wrong with takeout. They have an awesome menu selection, quick service, consistent product and made to your liking. But beware!!!! If you order to-go items that are on the buffet, then that's what your going to get. Regardless of the time. Wrapping up, there have been other reviews of King Buffet but one was most bothersome. This review was by "Kilroy, K. from Anchorage Alaska"; he stated he lived in New York and knows about great Chinese food, but his comments about Conneaut Ohio I find Striking and Hurtful. He States; "This is a Depressed town and has almost no place good to eat" Conneaut, which I might add is the first town founded in the state of Ohio. They are a proud community that has survived numerous historical markers in this country (Railroad, Shipping, Factory). For a town this size there are a variety of things to do, all one needs to do is stop a local and ask. Food was delicious and I've ate at many Chinese buffets over the years and this by far has to be one of the top five when it comes to good food!! We walked in and right out the door! Only two lonely lost souls at the restaurant. Let start by the buffet only had very little options, barely anything left at 6:00 pm considering they close at 9:30. Also, the food looks like its been sitting there for hours! I am from out of town and was here for the Big D-day Event in Conneaut, Ohio. This is a Depressed town and has almost no place good to eat. When I found King Buffet, I thought I died and went to heaven. There was a large amount of all the favorite Chinese foods. The food was FRESH and Hot. The service was also great. Do not be alarmed if you do not see alot of people in there cause I do not think people in Conneaut go out to eat much. I GIVE THIS PLACE 5 THUMBS UP. This is indeed one of your smaller "king buffet" restaurants, with fewer choices than what you might find elsewhere, BUT we eat lunch (any time between 1-4pm usually)there regularly and have never had a bad meal. You'll find your Chinese/American staples plus enough "regular" food (mac and cheese, fries, chicken) selections to appease the kids. They also have take out boxes...you can pick and choose from the buffet and pay by the pound, which is nice. The food is always fresh and the service is great, if you need anything all you have to do is ask. read more

This has got to be one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever dined at. Great selection, friendly service and the food delicious. The wait staff is pleasant. They are also kind about me practicing my Mandarin, poorly lol. The only frightening part of the meal was when I received an empty fortune cookie ,yikes! read more

Okay so the reason I give this restaurant a 2 star rating is because there food is sometimes cold or doesn't taste good at all the sweet and sour sauce is never hot and the restaurant itself is just dirty. If you eat out like order before you come food is hot and doesn't taste too bad. read more

The restaurant is in a sad, sad, strip mall, but don't let that discourage you. When you walk into the place, they have the traditional "take out" location, but just across the way is the door to heaven. It was clean. The floors were immaculate. The service was great. I encourage all to only eat the food that Chinese buffets are known for. Avoid the Seafood and Cheese. Avoid the mac and cheese. But all of everything else is pretty awesome. They replenished several food items within our forty minutes of dining, and they have Chinese donuts. It was great. Enjoy. read more
