Had a early dinner on the patio at Lou's Italian Specialties: a good spot in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood where Five Points turns into Cole as you head east. LIS is an East Coast style deli with broad menu offerings of Hot & Cold sandwiches plus Hot plates. The food was good and their bread is sourced from the City Bakery. While there is interior seating, it's limited. They have a nice patio on the north side of the building, weather permitting. The service was good, but it did take some time for the orders. Lou's strikes me as a place to also get catered take-out for the office lunch or weekend family event. The visionary mind behind Lou's is Joshua Pollack of the Bridge & Tunnel Restaurant Group [BTRG] , which also has Rosenberg's and Famous Original J's in their portfolio. Worth a try if you're in the area.

We finally found good Italian sandwiches in Colorado! After seeing this place on social media we took the 45 minute drive and it did not disappoint. What do you expect? They're from NY/NJ. The fresh mozz was worth the trip alone. I would go back to try more of their food. The only problem is that they only have 1 large community table and this place was packed on a Saturday afternoon. And it was 100 degrees outside so outside seating was not really an option. By the way if you're looking for rainbow cookies...you found them!

New to Denver and have driven by this place a few times. "Italian specialties" caught my eye, so I decided to stop in. I was pleasantly surprised by how cute this place was! It's like a little bodega with food, drinks, wine, snacks, meats/cheeses, and a happy hour? What a hidden gem. Everyone was kind and helpful, food was great as well. Can't wait to come back.

Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. The tiramisu is great, deli sandwiches fantastic. The flavor of the chicken parm sandwich was unreal but I didn't love the texture of the chicken so I'd probably grab a meatball or deli turkey next time! Can't wait to come back and try pasta and their take and bake selections. Also pleasantly surprised with the size of the kid sandwich.

Stopped here on a Thursday evening as we were driving by. Brayden behind the counter was super friendly in helping what we should order. What we swallowed: *THE LOUIE *EGGPLANT PARM sandwich: This was so good and filling. I was able to keep the other half for the next day and it was still so tasty. *CAPRESE PANINI *BEEF ITALIAN *CANNOLI *TIRAMISU Everything we ordered (to go) was so good. The cannolis were so tasty. Worth stopping here if you're in the area.

Local gem, absolutely love Lou's! It is an excellent spot for Italian food, especially sandwiches. Always hits the spot. I've tried a few sandwiches from here, and they are all great. The chicken and meatball parms are my favorite. The sauce was delicious, bread was light yet crisp, and was filling. The mozzarella sticks here are also incredible. It's the breading where you know it's an elite mozz stick as soon as you see it. Service is prompt and friendly, and location is clean. They have a good assortment of drinks too. The patio and bocce is a nice touch while waiting or eating, although it is not exactly a calm and quiet street outside. But the inside is very nice. Would recommend and come back here often for a good sandwich!

Really great sandwich shop. We had the Louie, chicken cutlet, and tiramisu. They were all top notch in flavor, ingredients, and balance of ingredients. The shop itself is such a vibe too - smells amazing, fun decor, and incredibly friendly staff. My only gripe is the half sandwich is smaller than expected (comparing to other sandwich places). It wasn't quite enough for a filling meal for me. And the full sandwich was pricey! Planning on coming back for their happy hour specials!

Popped in to get a sandwich before gardening at DUG garden. Had the Roman Fiesta 1/2. Delicious, fresh and took less than 15min for them to make. They will cater my next party. Love these guys.

As a Jersey native, I was excited to try this place. The menu reminded me of classic Italian spots back home. The meal didn't disappoint either, though I suspect some of the best dishes are the ones I couldn't try due to dietary restrictions (I don't eat pork, so the Italian sub was out). We shared mozzarella sticks, which were perfect. I also got the chopped salad, which was good but would have been better with some Gorgonzola. At least, that's how my favorite spot back home made it, so it almost hit the nostalgia itch but not quite. I got the eggplant parm sandwich. The bread was fresh and toasty, the eggplant was cooked just right, and the sauce was warm and tangy. I do think the proportion of ricotta was a little overwhelming, but that's me. Staff was friendly and service was prompt. The soda and deli selection was on point.

Sandwiches are my love language. No, really! The rents and I ventured over to Lou's after a busy morning and welcomed the opportunity to sit, chat and nosh on delicious eats! Having heard good things about this spot, I was excited to see what the fuss was about. The space itself is cute, quaint and Italian deli - meets market and dining space. Although small, it works and is cozy. We searched their massive menu to land on two simple, yet fan favorite sammies - ** The Louie - traditional Italian - Genoa Salami, Capicola, Ham, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mayo, EVO, Red Wine Vinegar! ** a toasted Panini - Italian Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers, Balsamic! Equipped with rounds of chips, drinks (NA beers, yasss!), our sammies came out within 5 minutes and were SO fresh, delicious and totally hit the spot! YUMMMM! Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful when it came to the menu and made us feel right at home! I can't wait to come back!

Pretty decent sandwich. Large portion. I wish it was a bit more seasoned . Service was fine. The location is casual . Would eat there again.

Ordered the sandwiches to go but the person we picked up from was nice! It's a pretty decent sized place too which is just since they're pretty popular. The place was also clean. The sandwiches/wrap was good too just pretty one dimensional I guess. You'd think they have more flavor but it was still tasty. Their portions are huge!!!! Prices definitely reflect the size, i'd recommend trying this spot at least once. Great mozzarella sticks!

The concept of it being inside a home is very interesting. The food here is amazing especially their Caesar Salad. That salad was so delicious we wanted to order some to go. Now the reason why this place is getting three stars because 1. The service here is horrible! 15-25 minute wait for our server to come back around and check in on us. It wasn't just us either but it was everyone else in the room. Saw a couple that waited about 25 minutes just to be checked up on after being seated. We also never asked for our bill yet and it was given to us without us asking. We wanted to order more food after our entree. Hence why we never got to order our Caesar salad. 2. This one was the most disappointing part of our dinner. We ordered tiramisu for our dessert, once served I noticed a glossy chunky on it, assuming it was maybe crystallized sugar. Wrong. It was a chunk of ice!! The tiramisu WAS STILL FROZEN!! For 12 bucks I can get some better tiramisu at king soopers, Safeway, or any other restaurant honestly. 3. There was an ant in my drink, and we weren't compensated for that. We paid 4 dollars for an ant drink.

We started with the focaccia (with the ricotta and honey on the side) and it was so tasty. My partner doesn't normally like ricotta, but loved this dish! Then, we had the melon salad (very refreshing). We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff brought out complimentary glasses of bubbly rosé, as well as their special dish, which were the stuffed squash blossoms. This was a really thoughtful touch! For mains, we ordered the tagliatelle with lobster (this dish had a tiny bit of spice, which was fine for us but might catch someone else off guard), and the lamb loin. Both were excellent. Overall, we had a great time! We found easy street parking nearby, as well. My only downside would be that, because this restaurant is so popular, there are lots of diners, which makes for a pretty loud atmosphere. However, this just speaks to how good everything is, so if you think about it, perhaps it's a good sign!

We normally get the Piatti Di Cicchetti (olives, pickled veggies, and almonds), Piatti Di Salumi (prosciutto, salame, coppa), and the Burrata. They all complement each other SO WELL. Pair that with a white wine and you got yourself a time. The 2 course offering for lunch is also phenomenal. I got the Insalata Mista (lettuce, shallot, reggiano) and it's a decent sized salad and very tasty. The Mafaldine (lamb ragu, pecorino romano) is to die for. Such great flavor and the pasta is always cooked perfectly. The service here is always top-notch too. The staff is very well-trained and is on top of everything. Truly a well-oiled machine. The atmosphere here is impeccable too. You can tell that everything was thought of for a great experience: lighting, table layout, decor, etc. It is a great place to bring a significant other, business customers, etc. I cannot wait for my next visit to Tavernetta and I was just there a few hours ago!

The arancini was a fusion of Indian spiced cauliflower with mint-cilantro yogurt raita. My favorite of the Spuntini dishes was the Granchio--jumbo lump crab served over a crispy potato cake with butternut squash and a perfect 63 ° egg. We split two Primi dishes: their special of the day pasta, and the Cappellini Aglio e Olio. The Cappellini was amazing--a perfect blend of Indian spices, breadcrumbs, and another 63 ° egg. Yum.
