I'm really not picky when it comes to Mexican food, but...this place was the worst. For the first time in my life, I threw away Mexican food. Everything was especially bland and needed salt. The refried beans totally came out of a can. The tacos were covered in a mushy watery salsa. Even the green sauce was awful and flavorless. King Torta doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is amazing! Call in orders are usually ready in 10-15 minutes even though they are usually pretty busy. The Machada and Fajita Burritos are our favorites and the spicy green sauce has a nice kick without being over the top. read more

Been living in hillsboro for about a year and Im always on the prowl for a better taco spot. Being from California its been hard to find a great Mexican place that actually is and not just claims to be "authentic". I got the lengua( beef tongue) and the carne asada burrito. The beef on both items were hot which is the first sign of a good burrito place. The mexican bean and rice combination complimented the salsa in the burrito. Squeeze a little lime and vamonos inside the mouth it went my friends. Only thing that was missing was a cerveza! I urge people to try this place instead of chipotle or any other americanized establishment. read more

Stopped in this place since it was quick off the freeway on our way back from a hike in Tillamook state forest. Got the King Torta w/ chicken and it was really proper! I personally don't think I've had anything better here in Oregon unless we've made it. My wife and I are from Arizona and raised on good food like this. This is the kind of place that you step into and you hope that you know what you're getting into and then you're pleasantly surprised. Sure this isn't the American Mexican food place with the huge Margaritas with The Salted Rim, this is paper cups and plastic plates but ooooh my goodness I will come back here often because of the quality of the food and the price of this food. everybody is friendly it's clean if it was spruced up they would have to charge us more. but everything that I've had so far the few times that I've been here have been absolutely outstanding and full feeling. Next time I stop by I will take pictures of their food but if I put it on the web page believe me you're going to stop what you're doing and run over and purchase their delicious burritos or nachos enchiladas tacos whatever they've got going because it's all wonderful. read more

I am always on the hunt for good Mexican and King Torta did not disappoint. We stopped by after a trip to Lakeview for the pumpkin patch and I am SO glad we did! Chips were cooked to order, hot and salty. The pico de gallo was fresh and zesty. I had the chile relleno, which was legit-- no pre-made stuff here. We also had the carne asada and carnitas tacos and a hard taco. The soft tacos were stuffed full with fresh and clean tasting meat-- not fatty or greasy. The hard taco shell was fried to order and the shredded beef was perfect. The menu is pretty big, the prices were great, the taco sauces were great, lots of flavor. Lots of choices for drinks from Jarritos to horchata, which was also good. I will be stopping here every time we are out here! read more

They could have been more evenly spaced in the wrapping, but the flavors of each was very good. The relleno was a good burrito, could use more spice. We were driving back into town after a day in the mountains and decided to stop here after a quick Yelp search. So glad, because this place is authentic and delicious! I got the King Torta which was like a carnitas flatbread sandwich topped with fresh veggies. It was very good, but I wish I had gotten my husband's chimichanga! It looked and tasted AMAZING. We also got a hard shell beef taco. Instead of a preformed shell, it had a true deep-fried tortilla shell. The service was average, but fine. I was impressed, and I'm sure we'll be back again. Favorite Mexican food place we've found in Oregon! Awesome little hole in the wall right off the freeway in North Plains; the staff is always very friendly. My husband loves the carne asada burrito and tacos, I love their carnitas tacos...you can get a taco plate with two big tacos, beans & rice and a drink for $5! The tacos are huge, with a lot of meat, pico and avocado sauce, way better than some places that only put onion and cilantro on top. Love spicy food, and they have good hot red and mild green sauces.
