We happened to stop in on a very rainy night in early January 2022. Yelp rated this establishment as nearly 5 stars and I would like to make it a full five stars. This is a combination supermarket/Taqueria and it did not disappoint! we ordered about 15 carne asada tacos and two tamales and were delighted that they came with onions, roasted chilies, two types of salsa, lots of limes and radishes. We also had wonderful drinks from the big jugs on the counter: horchata , Tamarindo and papaya aguas frescas. While we were waiting for the food, I wandered the store and immediately made plans to go back for a larger shopping trip. Wonderful produce, freshly made conchas and other baked goods, a great cheese counter and so much more to explore. Perhaps the best compliment I can give is that when the food arrived home, there was utter silence during the meal as my teenage grandsons devoured it. Everyone agreed that we need a repeat visit..... make that several repeat visits! read more

Even before the 'rona this place had a screwy traffic pattern in the back of the grocery store with one way in and one way out. I had a favorite pastor in Milwaukie but they changed their recipe. Since then I've been in the hunt. Unfortunately I didn't quite find it. The flavor was a little turned down but the sauce made a good complement. The price point is good. Maybe it comes from living in the south west suburbs but it's hard to beat $1.85. I like the presentation with the accoutrements and the fried jalapeño. I'm sure there are better things on the menu. I'd love to try them some time. read more

Wow, what a great find! Since our favorite Mexican restaurant (El Chino at Cornelius Pass and TV Hwy) closed a year ago, we have not found a place with similar quality, quantity, and price. Now we have. This place is awesome. A more limited menu than a full restaurant, but it has all the basics: burritos, tacos, tortes and meat plates with rice and beans. Prices are very reasonable even after Biden inflation. Ambiance is non-existent so get it to go if you don't like eating in a grocery store. read more

Exactly what one would expect and more. This great little restaurant is tucked back in the back of the grocery store. Enter from the east side to go straight to the restaurant. We had the asada burritos, pastor quesadillas and their watermelon agua fresca. It was all very good, fresh, and hot. There are maybe a dozen four seat tables and they're grouped out at the end of the grocery isles. We left happy and full - even our picky eater was heartily eating the thick quesadilla. Do not expect a wafer thin layer of cheese painted between equally thin lifeless tortilla. These were fresh tortilla grilled hot with a crisp skin packed with a generous amount of meat and cheese. Please don't be intimidated by the supermarket atmosphere. If you're looking for good, filling, flavourful food, come here! I was a little skeptical about this place but since it's close to my house..why not? I got one regular carne asada burrito and 2 carne asada tacos. First off! I was blown away that all of this food together only costed 8.99?! Yesss. The burrito was huge! It was filled all the way with tasty carne asada. This was 2 and a half meals for me, I can imagine how big the larger sized burrito is. Tacos were also super filled with carne asada. They have a full ranged salsa bar so help yourself! Make sure to ask for lids if you're planning on taking some togo. They do not jip you here, you get beyond what you pay for. read more

I LUV this place. Happy music, beautiful meat counter. Delicious, freshly fried pork skin. Beautiful, whole BBQ'd, butterflied chicken (I haven't tried it yet). Great salsa bar with about a half dozen different salsas. Small cups are provided at the salsa bar so you can help yourself to the salsa when you purchase your meal. You can buy the fresh-made-daily salsas at the meat counter. If you love heat DO NOT miss the "Salsa Molcajete." I've had it when it's pretty hot and on another occasion when it was much less so. Probably depends on who makes it, but it is incredible, smokey and earthy. I also recommend their Super Tacos which come with goodies (crema and guacamole) or you can get the regular tacos if you just want cilantro and onions. But don't miss the salsa bar. Not a fan of Latino pastries generally - I like something a bit sweeter - but they always look delicious at this place. read more
