Whiting fish dinner with fries & onion rings

We had great fish & shrimp dinner. The fries & onion rings were good. The delivery was fast & polite.

So I usually go to Cajun Seafood Market just down the street, but I decided to try something different. The place was very clean inside. Menu was printed. They have lunch and dinner specials. You can get a variety of seafood steamed or fried with different seasonings. I got the kingdom mix which is all the seasoning mixed together. The food was fresh! And SO GOOD! I got mussels which came with potato and corn (subbed out the corn for broccoli). Best of all it wasn't busy in there (I guess because they're new) and cashier was nice. I haven't tried the fried food yet, but I think this is gonna be my new go-to spot. It's right next to Church's Chicken, you can't miss it!

This is where my food is. In the TRASH!

Nahh this ain't it. The broccoli tastes like pizza and the seasoning was greasy. I'm used to my seafood focusing on my dry seasonings more so than trying to drown non seasoned food it some greasy "special sauce". The sauce is so loose that it doesn't even stick to the shrimp, potatoes, etc. definitely not satisfied. How do you mess up steamed broccoli?????

Red snapper with corn, potatoes and boiled eggs.

Went here today for dinner and had a fried piece of red snapper with corn, potatoes and boiled eggs. It was so very good! The young lady who helped me was very pleasant and patient. I had a ton of questions and she answered. I will definitely be back! Didn't take long at all to get my good either.

Box 4, with additional 1lb of crawfish and three eggs.

I just left LT's and, sheesh... what a letdown. Let me start by saying, I hate writing reviews like…read morethis, especially for small businesses. I really wanted to like this place. I was hoping to grab some crab legs for my grandmother's birthday celebration, but from the moment I walked through the door, I could tell it wasn't going to go how I hoped. There were barely any options in the display case. Maybe one or two fish, a random cluster, but nothing that made you feel like the store was stocked for folks to shop. And nothing in there was fresh. Everything was frozen. So, I inquired asking if there was more. The person behind the case told me that there was more in the back. I asked him about his crab legs, and was in complete shock when he stated the price. They were charging per cluster, not per pound. A small snow crab cluster? $11. A medium one? $27. That's insanity! At Whole Foods, I can get a whole pound of snow crab with 2-3 clusters for $15. They're charging customers more for less. That's easily over 80% more for maybe half the crab legs. And it sucks to even write this, because I really do try to support businesses in the West End. I want that place gouging is ridiculous. But somebody's gotta say something. I hope they rethink how they're price points and what kind of experience they want folks to have when they walk through the door. But as of today, I won't be back.

I typically never buy crawfish from seafood markets in Atlanta, but on Fat Tuesday, I was feeling…read morehomesick for Louisiana and broke my rule. Unfortunately, I should have stuck to it. This was actually the second seafood market I went to that evening because I had to throw away food from the first place. The usual spots I frequent were packed and had ridiculously high prices, so I decided to try LT New Orleans Seafood Market by ordering on DoorDash. I ordered 3 lbs of crawfish, with one of those pounds including broccoli, sausage, corn, and potatoes. When I arrived, I noticed the restaurant was closer to West End Mall. The area didn't bother me, but the musty, old smell inside did. When they handed me my tray of crawfish, I was immediately skeptical. It did not look like 3 lbs, and as someone who has been eating crawfish since birth, I know what 3 lbs should look like. Already hungry and frustrated, I asked for it to be weighed. At first, I was speaking to the male owner, but then a female owner jumped in, immediately getting defensive. She started insisting they don't cheat people. That wasn't the point--I just wanted to confirm the weight. She told the man to remove the shrimp and vegetables, and I agreed. As he did, she kept saying crawfish shrinks when cooked, which made it clear they weigh before cooking. After weighing, the crawfish and juices totaled 2.64 lbs--not 3 lbs. They offered a refund, but I declined and took the food. The crawfish were decent, and I liked the broccoli, but at that point, I was over it. I ate just to avoid wasting money. I won't be back.

I ordered from here about a year ago and had a pretty nice experience, so I decided to order again…read morethrough a delivery app. But this time was totally different. (I wish I still had the old pictures). It was edible, but the first time was WAY better. It was heavily HEAVILY seasoned to the point of being. My hands were stained red. The shrimp had a nice crunch. The potatoes didn't look great, but the flavor was good. The catfish was bland. One thing we really did not enjoy was the corn. The taste/texture was that of corn that was just sitting in the pot, boiling for hours until someone ordered it. Soggy. I was really excited about the side of fried crab legs and they weren't even in the bag. The attached receipt literally said to double check and still, missing. Additionally, my delivery person said that when she arrived at the restaurant, they said they "lost" the order and she had to wait another 20 minutes for it to be made. But the restaurant is ~5 mins from my apartment and the food arrived cold soooo?? Overall the food was just ok, but not something I'd rush come back for.

I've ordered from Krab Kingz three or four times. I tend to order the same thing: The fish and…read moreshrimp platter. It consists of two catfish filets (or three strips of whiting), 10 pieces of shrimp, fries, and a portion of corn on the cob. Before taxes, it costs $26.11. Even though I don't live far from this restaurant, I've always had my food delivered through Uber Eats. I wasn't expecting much the first time I ordered from them, but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality has been consistent every time. The portions were large and seasoned and cooked to perfection. I'm getting hungry just writing about it. I usually can't eat the whole meal at once because it's so much food. I have no complaints at all with any of my orders, though I did have issues with the Uber Eats delivery person the last time. But that's not Krab Kingz fault. I'm rating them a five. Oh, Krab Kingz is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. But Wednesday - Sunday, it opens at 11:30 am and stays open until either 9 or 10 pm.
