"Stack n Cheese", 7 mac-n-cheese balls, coleslaw and some pulled pork. Not much of a meal. Cheese balls are made w pepper Jack.

Location = B, parking = D, seating = B, menu = C+, Service = B, Food = B, value = C+, Atmosphere = A+, Bathrooms = B Second time here, this time we ordered food and played trivia which was fun. Location - heart of 6th Ave, where you can walk to multiple bars & Grills, so plenty of options for continued fun if wanted. Parking - Heart of 6th Ave so very challenging! If you 'Uber' or get dropped off, no problem. No dedicated parking, just on the street or side streets. Seating - This place has two sections: 1st is the "bar area" with stools at the bar, and two 4-seater pub tables, 1 sit down table at front window. 2nd is a larger room with traditional tables n chairs. Menu - limited, interesting, just okay. Appetizers & entrees. Service - friendly, but both times challenged to get out drinks. Must order at the bar so a line develops and it can be a long wait. No table service. Food - it's okay. Not 'really good' and not bad. Just, meh. I had the 'stack n cheese', could be better but they used pepper-jack. (Wife liked them) Don't do that! Wife had fish-n-chips which was 1 large piece of fish and fries. It came with "mashed peas" which, we agree, were terrible. Just imagine Gerbers baby food. Value - again, average. Their specialty "Cocktails" are $15-$18 each!! Food a little better. Atmosphere - it's a cool, dark wood, full bar, fun light strings, decor is nice. Bathrooms - 2, both unisex, roomy, not claustrophobic, but dark.

Great new place in Tacoma. Cool pub with an Irish twist. Feels homey. Tasty food. The fish and chips were very good. Had the beef stew, also very good. Check it out. Service was also great.

I had the Flemish Beef Stew over mashed potatoes & it was amazing! My boyfriend tried the Irish Spice Bag & said it was good. We got it to go because there were no gluten free options avail for his son. It was a nice atmosphere there as we waited for our food. The staff was nice. I hope to try more items soon.

I was on the hunt for a new lunch spot with time to kill and found this place on Yelp. My wife and frequently travel to Europe and one of our favorite dishes is fish n chips in a London pub. So I headed over for some fish! I'm not a huge fry guy but I saw the Flemish Stew on the menu so I was hopeful I could sub the chips for a small cup of stew. When I walked in I was greeted by Iker the bartender. I sat at the bar and we discussed my choice. He was on board. The food came out super quick! The breading on the fish was really light and flavorful. I added some lemon and malt vinegar to the fish and it was some of the best fish (sans chips) I've had in the US. The Flemish stew was AMAZING! And if you like Mushy peas definitely get them! Very tasty! I'll definitely be coming back for more of that fish and stew! Iker and Mike were both super friendly. The music was a blusey vibe and paired well with the atmosphere. They had a decent collection of whiskeys and bourbons. Only about a half dozen beers and ciders on tap but it looks like it's a frequently rotating selection. They have trivia and game nights throughout the week and I just really loved the vibe of this place. Will definitely be back with friends!

Food and service was top notch, Our table of five ladies had a great time, then skedaddled out before their trivia night started.

On our most recent visit we tried the nachos, and they were honestly the best nachos I've ever had. The cheese sauce is amazing- not some gross canned stuff. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, and the ingredients are layered throughout so you're not stuck with a bunch of plain chips. It feels silly to be gushing about nachos, but they are next level. It's not cheap, but well worth it!

Dirty Oscar's Annex - Disappointing Experience on 6th Ave…read more We came in as a group of seven, and unfortunately the experience went downhill quickly. First, the service was poor and disorganized. One of my friends arrived early and ordered her drink, but it didn't arrive until after I had already received mine -- even after she asked twice. We also had to wait far too long for basic things like napkins and forks because we weren't given enough for everyone. The most frustrating part, however, was the automatic gratuity. At no point were we informed -- verbally or on the menu -- that parties of 6 or more are charged an automatic 20% gratuity. We only discovered it by carefully reviewing our checks. And to make matters worse, the so-called "20%" was not actually 20%. It came out to 24.1%. When we questioned it, the person who said she was the manager claimed "the computer does it automatically." We are a table full of teachers -- and the math was definitely not mathing. We understand and respect gratuity for large parties, especially when the service is great or when it's clearly communicated. But charging more than the stated percentage crosses from poor service into a billing integrity issue. To add to the frustration, there is also a credit card processing fee, which again was not clearly disclosed on the menu and only appeared at the bottom of the receipt. This absolutely should be visibly posted before ordering. They did offer to refund some of the charges, but we declined because it would have taken additional time and we had an event to get to -- and more importantly, it doesn't resolve the core issue of lack of transparency. She also gave each of us a $10 gift card, but again, that doesn't resolve the issue. And honestly, what good is a gift card if we don't plan on returning because of such an awful experience? Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, and not one we would recommend based on service and transparency alone.

Many special dinners and celebrations were had within the walls there. When updates to the menu were made, it seems like much more than that changed and it hasn't been the same since. A few months ago we went and everything was 'off' nothing like it used to be. Service and food were both subpar. Knowing how many wonderful meals we've had there we gave them the benefit of the doubt, everyone/everywhere has bad nights. Unfortunately, we went back tonight and were shocked to find the restaurant nearly empty. We got a table in the bar so my husband could keep an eye on the basketball game. and while service was better it wasn't great, food was dropped off by someone who said not a word, literally dropped plates and walked away, and food was good but not the standout it once was, drink was also pretty awful. So sad to see such a shining star of a place in Tacoma fall so far. Seeing almost empty on a Saturday night confirmed it's not just us that has noticed such sad changes to the place.

We had only just arrived and ordered one drink before this took place. The "manager" was completely unprofessional. Maybe this is part of the set up. Let people spend their money first and then take away their drinks. Second, when trying to request a couple of songs that were more well known, the DJ informed us that the songs were already played earlier and he was not allowed to repeat songs. Instead he continued to play music that catered to maybe 10-12 of the same people who knew the dance. This was later in the evening and one would think that some of the more popular songs could be played again to get more people on the dance floor. It's a simple model really. The more fun people are having, the more they will want to stay, and will continue to spend their money at your place of business. However, based on our experience and what seemed to be lower patronage than we would expect on a Friday night, I would say the Big Whiskey Puyallup is the opposite of a good time. Between rude, over-the-top staff and poor choices in music, we are completely dissatisfied with the establishment and will not return. From what I've seen in other written reviews, we are not the only ones with this opinion.
