So glad I finally got to check out this Pittsburgh classic! After having Maggie's Farm Rum served at other Pgh bars, I thought it was time to check out the actual place! Went for a Friday evening HH and they had fantastic deals on drinks (picture below), only a couple of tables and chairs but a lot of bar seating. The bartenders are very knowledgeable about the drinks and gave great recommendations. It is located a bit off the beaten path but such kind service and drinks, can't wait to go back!! Huge plus is that they also provide free menstrual products in the bathroom as well!

I'm not much of a cocktail drinker but a friend recommended this place. My companion and I walked in, decided on a table, and eventually went to the bar to order. There were only 5 other people in the place but we weren't greeted upon entering or directed on the process of ordering. Beyond that, I have no complaints. My mai tai was delicious and crafted with care. I would have stayed to try a zombie drink, but we were far from the hotel and chose to be responsible.

Maggie's is definitely one of my favorite cocktail bars in the city! For starters, I love the location - it fits the neighborhood so perfectly (it's in an old warehouse) and it's really cozy/inviting inside. Most importantly, the drinks themselves are delicious - my favorite is the painkiller, but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Their rum is so good and they do a great job of showing it off via the different cocktail options they offer. I also appreciate that most drinks are around ~$10 in the age of $15+ craft cocktails. The staff is super friendly too, and overall, it's a great bar that I couldn't recommend more if you enjoy rum and/or great cocktails!

Maggie's Farm is such a great cocktail bar. Hidden inside a discretely marked building on Smallman, this place serves up delicious tiki drinks as well as traditional & creative cocktails all made with a variety of their rums and liqueurs. They make the best Pain Killer around! Plan on making a stop if you are in the Strip District.

An absolute hidden gem!! These are hands down the best, most widely liked cocktails with such variety for a group. The space is so comfortable, there's plenty of parking and it's a 10/10 spot. The bartenders were so friendly and there was a group of bicyclists that fit the spot right in on their ride. Cannot wait to go back!

Maggie's Farm Rum is one of my favorite stops for happy hour. I look forward to trying their new cocktails each month. Every drink is handcrafted and I haven't had one I didn't like yet. The eggnog is the best around. The painkiller will make you forget your worries. I love that you can make the painkiller non-alcoholic or as they call it pain free. Super dog friendly and able to bring outside food in.

Very unique delicious cocktails. Something for everyone! We had the Common Grounds which was similar to an espresso martini and a Right side up and it was like drinking a pineapple upside down cake but not sweet!

The cutest, quaintest bar in Pittsburgh. Amazing drinks and let's be honest...if you have rum in Pittsburgh it's DEFINITELY MAGGIES FARM! One of my absolute favorite hidden gems!

Was introduced Falernum while I was at PA Libations looking to get a locally produced alcohol. Instantly became a huge hit among my family and friends. Decided to check out their distillery and try other cocktails with my friends. Absolutely love every drink I've tried. The staff were so friendly and nice. Can't wait to be back for a drink or two!

Okay, I'll be honest and say it was a little hard to find this place but it's WORTH IT. I'm not even a big rum drinker, but I have had Maggie's spirits before and I love painkiller cocktails! They're hard to find locally. The ones at Maggie's are approx. 2 servings and they're amazing! Personal Day seltzers are also sold here (even the seasonal flavors) and those are delicious as well. Looking at the cocktail list I can tell they're creative and fun! I will definitely be back to sit down and have some drinks soon, but the canned drinks sure do brighten up a cold winter day!

So I had some time to kill this evening and looked up rum bars. And for all my Houston friends, I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. Anyway, Yelp led me to Maggie's. And I will say, not easy to find. The Lyft driver and I scratched our heads for a minute. Anyway, a true hole in the wall and when you walk in, it looks like an old school no frills bar. Whisky barrels everywhere filled with various versions of their rums. And it's a rum bar that serves only what they make. And the make several varieties of rum - strait rum, light, dark, pineapple, spiced, an old fashion version- just add an orange wedge, several variations of aged. They got rum. The owner or manager was tending bar and working the phone so getting his attention was a task, but as he explained, hiring people now days is hard. So I had a few tastings of the dark, light and his favorite, the Sherry cask. All good, but the Sherry cask was pretty damn good. I tried the Old Fashioned which has all the flavorings added. Pretty good, a bit sweet. But good. Then I had him pour me his favorite drink - his go to. It's was a variation of an old fashion with different rums. Better than the last. So, if you are in the the Pittsburgh area and a rum drinker, you gotta try this place. Amazing rums. You won't be disappointed.

Finally made it to Maggie's! We stopped in here for a nightcap recently. The bartender was funny and welcoming even though it was towards the end of the night. This place is such a cool hidden gem in the strip! I definitely want to come back and try more drinks when we have more time! I also loved the presentations of the drinks. Such a fun place!

I'm not a big rum drinker but after visiting this cocktail bar I have to say this is the best rum I've ever had hands down. Although their distillery is temporarily closed we were able to do a rum tasting at the bar and it was well worth it. The variety was amazing and we purchased 2 bottles - spiced rum and ginger rum. White Rum 80 Proof Spiced Rum 80 Proof 50/50 Dark Rum 80 Proof 50/50 Pineapple Rum 80 Proof MFOF 49 Proof (great for rum old fashioned) Coffee Liqueur 42 Proof Falernum 50 Proof (ginger flavor) Hidden Harbor White Rum 100 Proof Bartenders are phenomenal, the cocktails are so delicious they're dangerous because they go down so easily. My favorite cocktails were the rum old fashioned and painkiller. They sell painkillers by the can and taste just like the ones made at the bar. I have nutmeg at home that I freshly grate on top to get the whole experience.

    Rum Old Fasioned. Well done.

The bar serves cocktails, wines, beers, and mocktails. For dinner and late-night bites, the restaurant focuses mostly on small plates and shareables, including charcuterie, chicken wings, pizzetta, steak, and salmon. They also have a Sunday brunch that serves lox bagel, shrimp and grits, French toast, mimosa, bloody Mary, etcetera. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The best aspect of The Finch was its beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh's skyscrapers, Monongahela River, and subway trains. The foods and drink were a mixture of quality, and my husband called them "garbage" (eek!). Here are my ratings for them. Berry Mint Spritz - 4 stars - This mocktail (I could have ordered it with alcohol to turn it into a cocktail) contained strawberries, mint, lemon, syrup, and soda water. All of the flavor had settled on the bottom of the glass, so I could have used a straw to mix the drink, but I did enjoy the flavors. Summer Crab Cakes - 2 stars - I received two crab cakes, and they were some of the worst crab cakes that I have ever received anywhere. They contained too much breading and too little meat. I did not even like the flavor of the cherry tomatoes on the side. I usually love crab cakes, but with these ones, I could take only a couple of bites, and then I had the waitress throw away the rest. Hawaiian Pizzetta - 4 stars - This small pizza consisted of four slices that had cheese but no gooey cheese-pull. Other toppings were BBQ sauce drizzle, pineapple, ham, and red pepper. I thought that it tasted good. Ember Steak Skewers - 4 stars - My husband said that the steak was not the highest quality. At least the chunks of steak, peppers, onions, and mushroom (we counted one piece of mushroom!) were marinated and seasoned nicely. The total cost for this one mocktail, three foods, and one soda was $79 *plus* a 3% credit-card surcharge, tax, and a minimum tip of 18%. We asked the waitress for a receipt, but she did not bring us one, so we walked up to her to ask for it again, and we did receive it.

It came with BBQ chips, and when our bartender--the same guy from that morning--noticed how much I loved them, he brought me extra. Such a thoughtful touch. The rest of our drinks were equally inventive and well-crafted. I admittedly had some doubts about whether the creativity would translate into cocktails that actually tasted good, but they completely proved me wrong. A fun concept backed by genuinely great drinks and hospitality.
