Had they not wanted to charge an OUTRAGEOUS price for a bottle of Lillet Blanc I might try shopping here. But I don't appreciate being ripped off so will never go here again. A couple days before Christmas I was looking to buy a bottle of Lillet so as in the neighborhood stopped off at this store. He wanted $39 for what is usually obtainable for $16 - $20. I guess he thought I didn't know prices. When I reacted to such a huge overprice, his response was "I have to make a living". Well, not by ripping off customers!! You do better business by pricing fairly. I walked out without a purchase and picked it up elsewhere for $19.99! read more

Love this place and the new location. Workers are always happy to recommend a wine if you tell them what you're looking for. They separate wines by country. There is also a nice, growing liquor section with lots of whiskey options. Sign up for the points if you plan on coming often and make sure to stop by for one of the wine tastings they usually have Fri-Sun. read more

I don't even really drink, but this place is my favorite neighborhood spot! They literally held my hand through a dinner party, walked me through their pet nats and found a way to get me a second delivery of wine when my New Year's Eve dinner party was so popular we had blown through my first order! Have shopped there 3 times. Tonight's visit will be my last. Not trying to sound self-important, but I am well educated when it comes to wine. Trust me: the prices are ridiculous for what they are selling. Upon walking in, you'll see that the store is attractively laid out and well organized. But the actual merchandise seems to have been selected almost exclusively based on how Instagrammable the wine label was. They have very few quality producers or importers represented, despite what the prices may make you think. (A basic knowledge of international quality standards, like the AOC designations in France, will show you that much of their wine is about the same quality as what you'd find at Trader Joe's. That is completely fine, except that their prices are double!) Add to that their remarkably unfriendly and stuck up sales staff - every time I have been in there the guy behind the counter sits there swirling wine around his glass, sniffing, like a caricature of a hipster faux wine expert, totally ignoring customers and certainly never pouring tastes for them. Love this shop. Don't understand all the negative reviews. In my experience, the staff is always helpful and courteous. Yes, their prices may be a bit higher than elsewhere, but not by much. I don't mind paying a bit more to keep the only decent liquor store in Ditmas in business. Their shop is well designed and aesthetically tasteful. They have a well curated selection, but sometimes lacking in go-to items (I.e., no Hendricks Gin). Additionally, their response to COVID has been terrific. National Wine Day, you are a wine store and you don't know that it's national wine day? You are not offering any wine specials/deals? I walk in to see many wine bottles open but I guess because of my "appearance" I am not offered a sample. Very disappointed. I may not break the bank when I come in here however, I am a loyal customer but as I write this review, I truly believe I will never return to this establishment. Long live the days of when it was TB Ackerson and you got a buyers incentive card and a profile set up that would make wine suggestions based on your last purchases. Good customer service isn't just a smile, although that does count for something. Anyway, good luck to them. I don't see them lasting. TB Ackerson used to offer daily specials. I enjoyed spending my money in TB. Can't say the same for here. read more

Was pretty surprised by the quality of this place. I was in Ditmas Park for a friend's party and needed some wine, stopped here randomly. They have a small but totally well-curated selection of wines and the staff seemed to have tasted every wine they have (except for one funny bottle with a rooster on it which had just come in - i was really into the label but afraid to buy it without the recommendation...). Surprised by some of the comments about prices below - i think the bottle i ended up with was 12.99 and the others i was looking at were 13.99 - doesn't seem crazy pricey to me. Didn't love the metal rack in the back which didn't match the rest of the place, but that has nothing to do with the wine! read more

This has been a great addition to the neighborhood. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to explain the wine choices and keep a constant flow of new items. I haven't gotten bored yet with the selection since I started going there around a year ago. They also have frequent tastings that are great for trying new items. In addition to great wine options they also have excellent liquor options. I've been introduced to some great bourbons, vodkas and gins since they opened. read more

The older guy is the rudest person ever. He tries to make passive aggressive comments about everything you ask him. I keep reading the good reviews and I wonder if he was mean to me because of my accent and appearance. Everything is over priced and they have a small selection. Not worth the time. BEST WINE STORE EVER. They have a great, curated selection. It's separated by country. I love Malbec and they have one f my favorites from Argentina, but they also rotate a few others in and out so I'm always pleasantly surprised. They also have a loyalty program that I live for. ALSO, you'll notice all the clerks are very attractive, doesn't really affect the wine but it is part of the experience. They also do wine tastings, not sure on the schedule but they always know what their talking about. read more

Eugh. I bought a bottle of wine here for the first time since it switched from being TB Ackerson's. First of all, the prices have gone all up, while the selection and the knowledge of the staff has gone wayyyyy down. Anyway, we got the bottle home, and realized that it had gone way off. It was fizzy and tasted like vinegar. We went back to return it and the hipster girl behind the counter was very unapologetic, and told us that we couldn't get a refund, but could get a replacement bottle. I didn't want to get the same kind of wine again, so I had to spend a bunch extra on another much more expensive bottle (again, the prices for most bottles is a lot higher now.) I doubt I'll be going back here. The liquor store by the Q train (yes, the scary-looking place with stuff behind bullet-proof glass) pretty much has a better selection than this place by now, and the guy who works there is a lot nice and definitely more knowledgeable! read more

I'd heard that the new owners had an attitude problem, and boy was that confirmed for me when I went. At check out, I politely but plainly told the guy behind the counter that the same bottle of wine at my local store was $9.99 instead of the $12.99 they were charging, and he practically spat "thanks for that," in return. I sweetly said, "you're welcome," and lemme tell you, we won't be seeing each other ever again. My advice: Order from somewhere that doesn't jack up prices and that knows how to treat a customer. read more

Selection is alright, salesperson knowledge is "average", quality of selection is good, but obvious profit margin per bottle is too high. The verdict is, it falls right in the middle of the spectrum for me. It's nice to have nice things, but it isn't so nice to pay for more value and get less, just to line the pockets of the new cortelyou wine shop. Lower margins = higher rating. Very helpful and more laid back than others can be. While the selection is limited because of space more than anything else there's enough here for those of all wine loving levels. Recently purchased, a good job has been done expanding what was there before and improving the stores general feel. read more

I love having this place in the neighborhood. There isn't another good wine shop option so it's great to be able to pop in after dinner in the area for a cold bottle of white or a classier bottle of red to bring home. Just ordered for delivery haven't been in. They Delivered an outstanding Chablis (cold) to my door and with very little instruction from me of what I wanted. I asked for Chardonnay unoaked if domestic, if oaked must be French. I said I want creamy and rich. Perfect choice. I recognise the producer and was very impressed. I am a Ditmas Park local and this is the only good wine store in the hood. The owner is super friendly and knowledgable about his products. There is a good selection of $15 and under and a really nicely curated selection of spirits, including local spirits. I'm there every week! read more

Good selection for a store of this size but the staff is almost always rude and snooty. Shopping there is usually unpleasant.

LOVE this place! They have tastings and are super friendly in the shop, but also deliver (for free in the neighborhood!) so you don't even have to go in. I like to call up when I'm having people over and ask for recommendations - they've made great suggestions for any taste and price point I've requested. And on top of that, you can create an account to earn points with each purchase. What's not to like? read more

I appreciate what they've done with the store. They hold a lot of wine tasting events. I docked a star because I would appreciate 1 or 2 $9.99 bottles and at least 10-15 bottles in the $12 or cheaper realm. $13.99 per bottle is starting to feel a bit pricy for me. Also, I would like to see more selection of Williamette Valley Pinos. But they deliver - come on, that's great! read more

Surprised to see anything bad being said about this place, much less saying TD Ackerson was better. Really? Really? This place came in and I was like "sweet baby Jesus!" thank God! This neighborhood needed a good wine store and Ackermans was not that. They have great wines across a lot of price points (not just the cheap crap that Ackerman sold at a steep price increase), and finally have great spirits (tho I would love to see more Islay scotch). Best of all, the owners listen, which is a welcome change. Anyone who rates this place bad has some other beef here. I couldn't be happier this place got taken over. read more
