See below ratings for confirmation I watched the bartender sling out cocktails nowhere even close to being filled to the brim. Why?! Why wouldn't you try to fill the glass up as much as you could??!! Fool's Errand! I'm not gonna lie, it was the portrait of Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart that led us to this place. It's the cupcake shaped butter presentation that kept us here. We were looking for a bite and a sit. We were walking around the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and our dawgs were barking. (Aka our feet were tired). The sit was kinda important. We were 5 minutes too early. But after 3 minutes they let us in. And yes, there was no actual seats at this place not even one bar stool. This is not a place for people "of a certain age". It really is the service, the food and the drinks that made us decide to stay. The menu had fun cocktails and interesting beer selections. It intrigued us. Our server was a tall and fun guy who knew how to woe us. He described all the tasty morsels and we had to have some of the mushroom croquettes. While they were being prepared he brought over a brown paper bundle full of perfectly made sliced bread. And then lifted the glass dome of what looked to be a cupcake but was in fact a whipped butter. I ordered the "Devil's Purse" kölsch. A perfect bright pairing to the earthy mushroom croquette. The waiter was accommodating in making my friend mocktails of sorts. One was make with tiki bitters. Our second bite was the pumpkin croquettes. We enjoyed more bread and butter as they were prepared. The pumpkin was crazy and flavorful with the crispy nibbles of the outside. At the corner of my eye I noticed the homemade snowballs. Fool's Errand has that whimsy and fun to it's food and presentation. Also note the fun modern day print and old school style wall paper. And of course I checked out Snoop and Martha in the bathroom. Classy!! It is no surprise that Top Chef contender and brilliant Chef Tiffani Faison is behind this modern day American tapas spot! We had a delicious time even though we did not sit. Got cocktails here, cute venue and a good selection of drinks. The bites also sounded good which wound have been tempting if we weren't already going to hit Orfano for dinner afterwards. The highlight for me though was walking into the bathroom and coming across a picture of Snoop Dogg hugging Martha Stewart. I may have even squealed upon seeing it, it looked amazing haha. And then promptly sent me off into a Google search of Snoop and Martha's friendship for the next 10 minutes. So thank you for the entertainment, Fool's Errand. Also this is when I learned that Snoop enjoys cooking and has a cookbook, and a week later Bon Appetit's Reverse Engineering (my favorite food YouTube series!) featured Snoop Dogg's lobster thermidor, so timely. read more

Drinks were delicious! It is a smaller place so seating can be limited and they are often at capacity and can't accommodate more than 15-20 people at a time. Friend and I decided to come here on a whim after eating some great sushi nearby and boy were we happy with our decision! The bartender and other employees were amazing. Super attentive and super friendly. They seemed to also really enjoy working with each other so that really added to the whole atmosphere of the area. The drinks were outstanding. Fool's Errand was not at all what I expected, in the best way! When I walked in, I was thrilled to see a cozy, upscale interior, with cool chandeliers and a laid back lounge/bar vibe. While other options in this part of Boston feel a lot more cookie cutter, Fool's Errand is a great, unique change of pace in a cocktail bar. The bartender was fantastic, it was entertaining watching him make the various cocktails. His skills weren't just showmanship, either - the cocktails were really delicious! My friend and I tried one each. One was rum based and the other had Marnier for an orange theme. Both were balanced and flavorful. There's also an assortment of snacks available for order from the short menu, as well as wines, beers, and liquor for order. I love this place! No seats. It's a great concept and perfect if you're heading to a movie and want a quick drink. The drinks are great about 11-14 bucks per drink and they are a nice amount of options. I also like the food options! The spinach artichoke dip with saltine crackers is really good! Such a cute cocktail bar that makes you forget you are in the Fenway area. Through the double doored cloth vestibule you would find in a New York restaurant is a tiny cocktail bar with a standing bar. Drinks are all around $14 and delicious. There is a small food menu with some snacks, but is not very extensive and we did not try any of them. Downsides are the priciness (4 drinks were around $70 with tax and tip) and the lack of seats, but great cocktails and a cute atmosphere are the major draws to this bar. Decor is dark with chandeliers and bottles lining the walls, but step into the bathroom and the theme changes - wallpaper is a print of trees with birds and security cameras, with a large painting of Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart on the wall and Jolly Ranchers in a bowl on the table with the napkins. This place is Very small! It's all standing room. You walk in and there's a a small bar that takes up a majority of the space. And then there's some space along the walls. It seems that their "kitchen" was right behind the bar. You can see them make the food right behind the bartenders. The place is very well decorated though with chandeliers and blue themed wall paper. The bathroom decorations are interesting. Haha you need to check it out for yourself. And be sure to look at the small details! There's even a candy jar in there. I had a chance to try 2 different cocktails. an Apple Spice one and Corset. Apple Spice was good but I think the all spice that's in it made it taste like those asian dried plums or orange peels. It was an interesting, savory flavor. I preferred Corset. It was lighter and more refreshing. For food we got to try the Steak Tartar sandwhich and Italian Roni & Mozzerella croquette. The steak tartar sandwhich is so small, but so good! It's a creamy, slightly citrusy tartar in between brioche bread. Would definitely recommend. The italian croquette was cheesy and topped with bacon bits. The bacon made this super tasty. Great spot to grab snacks and drinks! Beautifully done interior, smart drink list and interesting bites done by chef Tiffani Faison. Came for opening at five and didn't leave till the last minute for an 8pm reservation. The cocktail list is short but interesting and well thought out, accompanied with unique glassware. The menu also includes a healthy dose of delicious fortified wines, a must. Daniel was single handedly rocking the bar for the whole place, making cocktails, recommendations and banter! The food menu was quite large for such a small venue. With many dishes featuring seafood. Small bites that are well executed. Will definitely be in the rotation. Honestly it makes me sad to give this place a 2/5. I really wanted to like Fool's Errand. It's been on my list of "must visits" and it was unfortunately a huge let down. The vibes/aesthetic was great, got a good laugh from the giant Snoop Dogg & Martha Stewart portrait in the bathroom, and was seated immediately. However, once my friend and I were seated it all went pretty downhill. We ordered espresso martinis but were given the "IYKYK" instead (even though our bartender/server verbally confirmed we were getting 2 espresso martinis). Thinking that we might be mistaken, we just accepted our drinks but the more we sipped, it was apparent there was a large "mint" flavor. As people who've worked in the food industry & just.. wanting to be kind, we didn't speak up about our order. But the entire hour we were at the bar, our server didn't check on us once. Only at the end when we were ready for the check did they ask if we were set. I totally understand being more attentive to some customers who seemed to be friends with the bartender or long time customers, but it was still surprising. When we got our check we saw we were charged for 2 espresso martinis. Sigh. We were hugely disappointed and I really wanted to love this place, but the lack of attention was rather off-putting. As a big Tiffani Faison fan I was excited to try her latest outpost, and it didn't disappoint! Although the cocktails are a bit pricey, unfortunately 14 dollars is what you now pay in upscale Boston neighborhoods, and the quality is commensurate with the price. I also tried the burger, which was beautifully plated and delicious. Fool's Errand is standing room only, but there are helpful hooks and bars aplenty for you to rest your hip or foot against while you're enjoying your $14 cocktails and $5-15 apps. Service is super friendly; our bartender was generous with the pillowy bread and sinfully delicious bread (complimentary, the butter comes shaped like a meringue which adds to the intrigue) and was furthermore enthusiastic about making / pouring / serving our drinks. I got the Poison Apple cocktail which was refreshing and not too sweet, even when I asked for them to go light on the alcohol (I know, I know, but I was driving that night). We also got the roni and mozz -- sort of a arancini / fried mac & cheese -- which the bartender helpfully put in an order of 4 given our group size (even though it typically comes with 3). We also ordered the crab dip. The crab dip was the TINIEST shmear, but it was delicious despite being a little hard to split 4-ways. Ambiance is dark and Fool's Errand is one of the few bars I've discovered in Cambridge/Boston that doesn't have a TV...which I sort of love. I wish it were slightly less noisy, although the playlist is solid, full of great 90s hits -- Stevie Nicks, Simple Minds, and other great nostalgic songs. Even the bathroom is surprisingly nice: cloth towels and a little candy jar, which only called to mind Ellen DeGeneres's most recent Netflix comedy special. Good: Amaro list is awesome, cocktails are few but well crafted and fun, and the food is decent (but small bites). The atmosphere is cool, dark, and fun. Snoop and Martha photo in the bathroom and 90s hip hop bumping over the speakers. Average: it's a bit pricey but within range of other spots in the area. It teeters the line of almost being too try hard, really pushing that line of too much. Bad: it's cramped. Like seriously. Wait staff have to constantly ask people to move to get drinks out. NO SEATS. I didn't mind this but it's worth putting in caps so people realize what this place is about. I'm definitely coming back often. read more

Came here after passing by the store front this past weekend and seeing it packed; we came on a Tuesday night and the bar was fairly slow, but that allowed us the opportunity to chat with with some of the staff, who were really nice and knowledgable about the menu. The bar itself is small with a cool modern decor; please note that it is a standing room only kind of place, NO chairs anywhere. The drink menu is fairly extensive, a little on the pricey side (ie: $14 cocktails, $10-15 glasses of wine) and the small bites are all written on the mirror on the side. The bites were good, although also on the pricey side. We shared some croquettes (not as cheesy as I would have expected, but tasty), and the pastrami salmon on the everything bagel is to DIE for. SO good, I could have eaten a large plate of this. However, they really are very small bites, and for the price ($9-16 per plate), on the verge of not quite being worth it. However, food and drinks were great with a good selection and a cool ambiance. Would recommend stopping by at least for the experience! read more

I came across this place while bar hopping with my boyfriend and his friend who made the spontaneous decision to give this place a try. We each got our own drink and while all three were solid, the one that stood out the most was peanut butter flavored! I can't recall the name and it seems like they're constantly switching out their drinks but if you get a chance to see it on the menu, I'd highly recommend! In terms of the environment, the space itself is actually pretty small and is mostly standing room but there's something quite charming about this spot.
