Cheeseburger
David Y.

No frills joint with a friendly staff and quick service. We got: - Halibut fish and chips: The halibut was good quality, though the batter was just a bit too thick and just a bit too crispy. Substituted the fries with onion rings and those were amazingly sweet like the best ones are. Good value for the price. - Cheeseburger: Tasty and good size for the price. The burger is charbroiled well and they load it up with everything. Would have wanted a bit more cheese on there. Overall, a nice stop if you want something cheap that tastes pretty good. They also have benches outside that are great for a nice sunny day. Gotta have their milkshakes once things open up...

Poutine with Steak Fries

Came to this funky burger joint with my girlfriend. It was a hot day and we were looking for a good place for burgers, poutine and milkshakes. This place seemed to fit the bill. When we arrived it Kings Drive-In had that cool 50s diner's vibe. They feature cool stuff like F'Real brand milkshakes, Coke Flavor Wave and a giant tailgaters beer bath. My girlfriend ordered the poutine at $5.75 with a pop. They only have one size of pop but, its free refills. I ordered a Double Cheeseburger and wanted a milkshake but, they were sold out. I ended up snagging a 3-dollar beer from their giant beer bath.  The poutine was good. They use steak fries, the gravy was only okay but, the curds were fresh and even a little squeaky. The fries were good when soaked in the gravy. My double cheeseburger was good, the bun was nice topped with sesame seeds. The burgers were the frozen type but, it still had good flavor and it was nice a beefy being a double.  King's Drive-In was a cool joint. I am not sure I would go out of my way to get there as there food is more on the frozen end however if I am in the area for a burger and a beer I would definitively return.

Hamburger, steak cut fries and soda

This place is great for cheap eats. I had a burger ($4.30), steak cut fries ($2.50) and a soda ($1.00). For the price the burger was pretty good. Pretty standard cheap diner burger. The fries were cooked perfect and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. I really love when a place has a Coke Freestyle machine. It gives you the choice of so many different kinds of drinks to choose from. My favourite these days is the lime Fanta. The girl that takes your order is super friendly and has excellent customer service skills. I will definitely be going back.

The new/old kings drive in is back in business. Excellent simple homemade burgers w/a ton of toppings to chose from. All meat, no filler. The poutine is HUGE! Wish the gravy was hotter & fries homemade. But enough for 4 people. They have a special on right now for $2 shakes. Unfortunately, they only had Mango left when we went. Owner was waiting on order of 1500 more. Hopefully will try next visit. Unique pop dispenser 2018 tech. Hit button for selection of at least 15 different flavours. Free re-fills. Staff on the ball and oh so nice. $2.99. Domestic beer ! Only thing is they should close side door it's too cold for that, as it's near seating. Constant cold breeze every time door opens. Perfect for summer. Lock in winter. Tons of parking. Prices very reasonable. Will be visiting again. Gotta get homemade onion rings The king is back in town. Very busy for a Tuesday @ 11am.

Ny steak on a kaiser

The fish and chips was good. The rest (steak on a Kaiser, onion rings and poutine) was meh. The oil was a bit dirty and not new

Freezing cold oily fries and onion rings fresh out of the freezer

This is by far the worst restaurant I've even gotten food from I ordered and small meal and it took 40 minutes for them to request a driver from uber and an hour to complete the delivery, To top everything off I was told they would make me a fresh order due to the fact my food was sitting out for so long but instead they decided to send me freezing cold food that immediately had me vomiting after eating... Eat there at your own risk

Poutine

I ordered the poutine, it was okay. I wished they didn't use the fat flat fries. The inside of the diner is decorated nice. The original owners of the past few restaurants that have been in this location are the same owners.

We ordered the following: 1. Cheeseburger Deluxe ($3.89). 2. Sweet Chili Junior Chicken ($3.99). 3. Chocolate Shake (snack-sized $2.00). 4. Coke Zero (large summer promotion $1.59). 5. Fries (small $2.89). 6. 2 Baked Apple Pies ($2.19). The Sweet Chili was barely spicy. Both Apple Pies had burnt crusts. I've never seen that before. We ordered using self-order kiosk at 12:40. We received our order at 12:59. Granted that it was on a Sat lunchtime but I still feel it took a long time. This place has a drive-thru and self-order kiosks. 30% of the seating have electrical outlets. They removed the outdoor seating. The last times I came to this location were on 2019-09-29 and 2019-03-23. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms, both of which are wheelchair accessible and have baby change facilities. There is free parking in the mall. I didn't see any high chairs for little children. If you eat enough ramen around the world, this is pretty average but priced higher I guess with no competition around. Also you pay the premium for the ambiance. Would be nice if there was an extra slice of pork. Also bad pork donburri and could use a little bit more meat/rice. Chicken karaage was nice and crispy and came out hot. Staff are super nice and do a good job. I'm only giving this 4 stars as it could be better value for the price (I don't mind paying but at least make your portion sizes bigger...it's just noodles and rice). $70 for two pork ramen, one pork donburri, one chicken karaage which covered tax and gratuities.

This place is a definite must-try. The place has a few spots to eat, and the decor is beyond adorable and fitting. I couldn't get enough of the potato puns. The gentleman was incredibly nice in explaining what the top favs were and was even nice to allow me to add an ingredient, as one of my spuds had something removed (no coleslaw for me). My order consisted of Mexican Fiesta and Nashville Chick. My husband took his Mexican fiesta potato as is, but I ended up switching my pulled chicken for fried chicken. The potatoes were amazing! The base potato was so flavourful and not bland at all, evenly seasoned on its own without the toppings. The toppers were delicious and went well with the spud. It hasn't even been a week, and I'm already jonesing for my next potato bar experience.
