If I could give a review zero stars, I would. DO NOT USE THIS 'SERVICE.' EVER. This was one of the absolute worse experiences I have had with any company, ever. I bought a Living Social deal for 4 hours of house cleaning. Had to schedule it 5 weeks or more in advance. Finally cleaning day arrives. I had to be at work so I left a key and a list with some extra info, along with my phone number in case they had any questions. I got home to find that the house wasnt even 1/2 clean. They didnt even enter 2 of the rooms! I have a 1600 foot house with 3 bed, 2 bath, and literally, one entire bed and bath WAS NOT CLEANED. Then, the upstairs bath.. toilet filled with Comet that is now dried on since it's been sitting there all day, filthy floors, didnt clean the sink. One full bedroom upstairs was not even entered. But wait, it gets worse. I called the next morning and told the manager what happened. He said he would call the cleaners and have them call me to discuss. This was a Friday morning at 9am. I didnt hear back until Monday at 4. The cleaner calls me and is sitting next to the manager, who he is repeating what I'm saying to throughout the entire call. He tells me that the soonest they can come back is in another week, they are full all this week, and asks to come back Monday evening. I said that didnt work and why could they not do it sooner considering I waited 5 weeks and they didnt even clean 1/2 my house. He also tells me they had a trainee that day and the stuff that wasnt cleaned was done by the trainee... really?! You're training someone and you dont do a once over to see if they cleaned the upstairs of the house?? I mean come on. Finally the manager gets on the phone, clearly agitated with me. Basically proceeds to tell me he's sorry it wasnt done 'to my liking' and next week is the best that they can do. And the kicker, they will send the same 2 guys out for 1 HOUR. At this point he is being so rude and combative that I tell him that I'd rather not have them come back and I plan to call Living Social. So he hung up on me. Not kidding. Without a doubt, this was one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in my life. Horrible service, 1/2 of the house not cleaned, and the worst customer service of all time. By a manager at that. I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone, ever. They shouldnt even be in business. read more

The crew at Kingston did an amazing job cleaning my home! I have a small apartment and the two of them did it top to bottom in less than 90 minutes. The detail work was great.....the top of the fridge, empty ice cube trays filled and placed in the freezer, they dusted around all my little gee-gaws in the living room.....really excellent work, they brought all their own tools and supplies and I will *definitely* hire them again. read more

I was in the midst of a move, and I needed help. Not only was Damian (sp?) friendly and professional, he was thorough and efficient. And the bathrooms were spotless prior to our inspection. I would also like to mention that he was quick to respond when I needed next day service. I'm sure you all smart folks are aware that groupons and living social deals are a bit of a racket to get money from SMBs, and it often isn't the businesses fault when things go awry. I recommend Damian without hesitation. He brings his own music. On my day, it was a heavy Madonna rotation. If you can't deal with that while someone scrubs the weird residue around the base of your toilet, then you are not a member of my tribe. read more

Bought a LS coupon. Ended in a BBB complaint. I found it really hard to schedule the appointment. I would say afternoon and such and such a day, and he kept trying to schedule me for morning. I finally acquiesced and took a morning appointment. The day before the service he called and left a message to confirm. The day of the service, no call, no show!! 45 minutes after the appointment I called, thinking they might be running late and left a message. 2 hours after the appointment I emailed him and requested a refund. He replied that he was at my house, and lo and behold, there was a card in my door instructing me to pay 35$ to reschedule. I sat in front of the huge window by my front door for 4 hours that morning. I was working on my laptop. My husband and I didn't leave the house all day. Here's the only thing I can figure: - He came early - He didn't ring the doorbell - He may or may not be doing this on purpose (see J Os review 1/31/12 with the same exact scenario). I know he didn't ring my doorbell because if he did my dog would've gone nuts. I tested it to make sure my doorbell was working, and sure enough Fido freaked out. That's why I was sitting by the window in the first place. My dog is nice, but if I can catch our guests before they ring the doorbell, it always works better. If he had actually come when he was scheduled, I would've seen him and he would've seen me!!! What kind of person would leave that sort of note while they could see their client through the window? I didn't even have headphones on, a wave probably would've worked to get my attention, but I know for sure THE DOORBELL would've worked. So, liar, liar.... he wanted to keep the LS money without doing the work, and possibly get extra money to make me reschedule. Luckily LS is awesome and they gave me the refund he wouldn't. I guess it's my bad for not checking him out on yelp before I bought it in the first place! read more

I arranged for Kingston Cleaning Services to clean a 1 BR condo unit, recently vacated by an elderly, disabled man. Once Damion viewed the unit, which was in very bad condition, he presented his estimate. At that time, he said it was a "maximum figure," and I agreed to it. Once the unit was clean, he submitted a bill for $75 more than his "maximum." I asked for a reduction, considering the owner's circumstances, and was refused. At that point, I got a rather "huffy" response and a "demand for payment." I would never recommend this company because the owner doesn't honor his word. read more

I can't say enough about Damian. He is awesome. I do clean my house, but not as well as he does! I had a bunch of boxes of an art tool that I sell out of my house. I had them all in the middle of the room in our upstairs office. I hired Damian to clean our house. Not only did he make everything look so nice and clean, but moved all of our boxes to one side of the room, so you could walk into the room now! It was so nice! I had around 15 of these 15# boxes and he arranged them better so that they were against the wall and out of the way. It was above and beyond my expectations. Im always so excited to come home to my house after he's done. It always looks so much better than I could ever get it to be. I highly recommend him to all my friends! I did hear that he had a bad business partner a while back, but now he's gone and Damian runs the whole show now and he does an amazing job! read more

Bought em on a Sharing spree...they never showed up! I was home all day! I called them to find out what happened and to reschedule. They said it would be a $35 reschedule fee!! Are you kidding me. They claim they came to the house but my husband and I were both home. I refused to pay the fee. They said they will not come back out. When I told them that was okay I would just leave negative feedback, they said go on ahead...So here it is. Perhaps a phone call to confirm you have the address would have been in order! I couldn't believe how quickly Kingston cleaned my house. It took them 1.5 hours to do more than other cleaners have done in 3 hours. I honestly have no idea how they did it. They even dusted in places I've never dustd (poor them). They were professional, curteous, and quick! I was lucky enough to get a great deal on Sharing Spree's website (check it out) or else I would never have know about this great company. While their cleaning was adequate, I had issues with their inability to follow instructions and thoughtlessness. They cleaned things I specifically asked them not to, and in doing so, moved stuff to random places that I had to search for. They also go above and beyond to accomodate our crazy schedules and any extra help we needed such us changing the bulbs on our high ceilings and cleaning our windows on their day off!! I was a little taken back at first when 2 men came to my house (Jay & Rob) but after a a few minutes they made me feel a little more comfortable. They were nice guys but there cleaning lacked detail. I've been having my house cleaned for the past 8 years (thought I would try something new) and right away I notice there were things that had not been cleaned. They did go back and clean them but I shouldn't have had to ask him. If your okay with mediocre then they'll be fine, if your into having your house look and smell clean, I would pass on them. I'm not sure why the bad reviews. I have had Kingston Cleaning service clean my house multiple times I think they are the best. Really detail oriented and on time. Damien dusted every knick knack and got to areas that always get missed. He got my sink cleaner than it's ever been. I'm not sure what he did to my floors but I never can get them to shine they way he did. I was very impressed. I haven't had any problems. I originally bought a Groupon and continued using them after. I highly recommend them. read more

I had the guys from Kingston out to my house a few weeks ago, right before Christmas. I found out about them from Sharing Spree and got a great deal for 4 hours of service. I wasn't there for the actual cleaning, but my husband was and said both men were friendly and good workers. At their request, I left a list of things I wanted done, in order of preference, and my house looked great when I got home after work. My only complaint was that they missed multiple dirty spots on the kitchen floor, although my husband assured me he saw them mop it. I'm a total perfectionist, so that bothered me a bit. But other than that, my house looked wonderful and I was SO happy to have someone else clean it during the craziness right before Christmas! We changed our entire day to do this and they did not show up. Finally got a call from the owner and they 'lost" the schedule and he fired the manager and excuse after excuse. I was so disappointed with them! They did about 2 hours worth of work in 4 hours. It was pathetic. One of the cleaners was just awful. I kept having to make her reclean areas. Not only did they NOT do the main things I wanted to get done, they did a poor job of cleaning the areas they did get done. They wasted more time fiddling with their vacuum and moving the small amount of things I have out on display completely put of the room before they bothered to clean any service. They definitely did not use their time wisely. I would NOT recommend them to anyone!! I have even worse news, I actually have to use them again because I bought 2 vouchers, and I am not one to waste money. But I will definitely request other cleaners! read more

Something clearly has changed from 2011 to now. I also purchsed a cleaning on Living Social, which occurred today. I wouldn't describe this as the most wonderful experience I've ever had - because I can clean my house faster than they did. I asked only for my upstairs to be done - so about 1400 square feet - and I asked them to not do my office because I was in there working. And they did limited, obvious things - bathrooms, kitchen counters and appliances, vacuuming - but they didn't dust anything for example. What they did clean was ok though, especially the wood floors. I don't know what they did to them, but I can't get them to shine like that. The boys were professional, but really, really young and I doubt have ever owned a house to clean themselves to know what needs to be done in a home. And when I asked them about the company, they basically indicated the company had downsized and were operating with only 4 employees including the owner. What surprised me was they didn't try to sell me as a regular customer. I had to ask for company info and one of them found a very rumpled business card for me. Overall I feel like it was worth the amount paid through Living Social, but I don't think I would engage them on a regular basis. If I had a cleaner, I'd want someone who really has a routine and knows what needs to be touched in a home - baseboards, blinds, corners, cabinets, plus the standard bathrooms, kitchen, etc. read more

I would have sympathy for his story about firing the manager that made all these appointments if it was true, but it isn't. He is the person that made my appointment in the first place, When I called him out on this he hung up on me. He called me a week after this incident asking me if I was the person that they missed the appointment for. I told him yes assuming that he was talking about what happened the previous week, As he starts explaining himself he said the reason that they did not show up was because they had lost the schedule....he never said anything about the manager being fired. When I asked him about his two different stories he hung up on me once again. I am not sure what this guy is up to, but it is something extremely sketchy. I just had Damien clean my house. He worked nonstop for four hours. When he finished, the rooms were clean and orderly. He brought all his own cleaning towels, cleaners, and equipment. I'm really surprised by the negative reviews. Damion has cleaned our house a few times, and I've now set up to have him come on a monthly basis. He does such an amazing job! I left him a list of my "priority" areas (kitchen, bathrooms, floors). He went above and beyond and cleaned every room in the house, including dusting, making beds, folding towels, etc. Coming home to a clean house puts a smile on my face and Damion makes that happen. He even left mints on our pillows and straightened up the shoes in my closet! I highly recommend him to all of my family and friends! read more

Take your business elsewhere. DO NOT expect to have a clean house if you hire this cleaning crew. Our landlord required that a professional cleaning crew be hired for move out cleaning. We bought 4 hours of cleaning from a half-off deal. We only got 1 hour of cleaning services and did not pass the landlord's inspection. You have to tell them exactly what has to be cleaned and to what standard you expect. I explained that we needed a move out cleaning of the house including the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom was ok according to the landlord. The kitchen did not pass the landlord's inspection of the fridge nor the shelves and cabinets. The blinds were not touched. The windows were not touched. Not even the window right in front of the kitchen sink with water spatters on it. Now, we are out not just the cost of the Kingston cleaning but the cost that the landlord is going to charge us for re-cleaning. read more

I used this on a Sharing Spree. They didn't show up. I had a get together planned that night. I called after waiting and waiting and was told that they lost my number and didn't know how to get a hold of me. Saying the cleaners had a flat tire and couldn't make it so they needed to reschedule. I explained that I had an event at my home that night and I was counting on them. I am disabled so I couldn't just do the cleaning myself. Finally after calling me back the owner says he will come do it. He came, but wanted everything spelled out for him on what I wanted done. Really, CLEAN THE BATHROOM isn't enough to tell a cleaner? I had explained I had an event and I wanted the 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room and vacuuming done. Apparently that still wasn't enough information. He vacuumed the living room and asked if there was anything else....I had to explain I wanted dusting done, tables wiped down....I shouldn't have to spell it out. Furthermore he wasn't even there the whole time I purchased, but had plenty of time to not put things back (because he wasn't paying attention) and to complain about how people expect too much in 4 hours. Really? He mentioned people complaining to living social and sharing spree about them not doing a good enough job. WHY would you tell a customer this? I just don't understand. I've never had to direct a cleaner step by step before. I was surprised they offered this again. But usually a business does what is needed to KEEP business by using LS, SS or Groupon. I was really let down...but gave 2 stars for the effort of the owner coming and trying to give the appearance of making it right even if the effort wasn't there. read more

Damien and his crew have done a fabulous job for the past two years cleaning my home. He is reliable and trustworthy and my home is exceptionally clean when I return home from work. He even takes care to be sure that the dogs are taken out to potty while he is there. For the first few times, cleaning was OK. A couple of things got broke, but the owner took care of it. Then it all fell apart. They would show up when I didn't have a scheduled cleaning and didn't show up when they were supposed to. I'd called and complained many times and was told it would get fixed, but it didn't. They were about a half-hour late but called 10 minutes after their scheduled time stating that they were on their way. Two individuals arrived and asked what I would like. They met my request and completed my 960 sq ft house in 90 minutes. The two individuals were very pleasant and respected my request to call before they left.
