Despite their average standing, I'm going to bring Scanlon's Cleaners to the front of the class…read more After inquiring about dry cleaning my 8, 96" L Pottery Barn linen curtain panels at a dry cleaners elsewhere in Kingston, NY, I quickly made a U-turn for better pricing. Now granted, that dry cleaners is eco-friendly and what they were charging was $40 a panel. $320 in the end? For curtains? No. While Scanlon's on Ulster Ave in Kingston, NY isn't organic, they came in at $15 a panel. Done deal. Scanlon's is what you would want from a cleaners: tidy, offers same day dry cleaning, ironing+laundry services and has a detail website highlighting other services such a leather and Ugg cleaning, wedding dress services, etc. Do ask about repair+mending services- if any. Hubs chose his shirts to be hung instead of boxed when he dropped off them off. Unlike other cleaners where you pay when you pick up your clothes, here, you have to pay(?) upfront when you drop off your clothes. Regardless, Chris and his team actually gave my linen curtains the care they deserve and hubs' shirts had a nice crisp to them. The turnaround time was great between dropping my curtains off and picking them up. Hassle-free, prompt and great pricing.

My last 2 experiences were absolutely terrible. You can expect having to ASK for a washer or dryer…read morebecause the owners do all their other businesses laundry there and use EVERY SINGLE WASHER AND DRYER even in the middle of the day... As a paying customer thats absolutely ridiculous. A rolling cart? Forget about it. They use them all. I started going here due to the fact its the cheapest one around and has a lot of machines. The owners shouldn't be using all of the machines especially when you have a bunch of customers. They use all the tables, carts and machines. Youd think they would use their brains and maybe use half of everything so that THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS CAN USE THE BUSINESS..or better yet DO IT OVERNIGHT. I will never be going there again and ill be sure to let everyone I know who uses a laundry mat, to NEVER go here!

Someone related to the owner or one of the owners takes up every machine in the place to do laundry for what I'm assuming is a camp. It's ridiculous that he's doing this during the daytime. The place is open24 hours a day, come do it like 8:00pm when no one's there. It's so frustrating as a regular to have to deal with this. It's really inconsiderate. He'd do it on Mondays so we switched to Tuesday and guess what he was there Tuesday afternoon too. We ended up having to take our wet laundry to another laundromat because there wasn't a single one open . He'd take them as soon as they were emptied. Not a great way to run a business to let your customers have to put up with this.

1/5 Stars -- Extremely Disorganized and Frustrating Experience…read more Honestly, this entire experience was far more difficult than it ever needed to be. What should have been a simple laundry pickup turned into an unnecessarily complicated ordeal involving missed messages, missed breaks, confusing and changing meeting locations, locked "Employees Only" doors, parking-lot issues, shifting pickup times, and repeated questions just to determine the final cost of the service. The communication throughout the process was extremely inconsistent. I completely understand that unexpected circumstances can happen, but the sheer number of last-minute changes and unclear instructions made this experience unnecessarily stressful and frustrating. At one point, I was instructed to meet at Gate 6. Then I was told to leave the laundry with a gate worker, only to later find out that was apparently not possible. I was subsequently directed to use a closet located behind a large fan and dryer drum, while we were simultaneously trying to determine where and when the laundry could actually be picked up. None of this was communicated clearly or consistently. The pricing was another major concern. I was initially told the service was $2 per pound, yet I was ultimately presented with an $87 charge. I had to specifically ask for an explanation and an itemized breakdown of the cost. I was then told it consisted of 31 pounds of laundry plus an additional $25 for the comforter and pillow. While I can understand the charges once explained, that information should have been communicated clearly and upfront, rather than leaving the customer to question the total after the fact. Even after navigating all of these issues, I was still left trying to determine whether the laundry was actually finished and available for pickup. This was not a smooth, professional, or customer-friendly laundry service experience. The level of confusion and disorganization throughout the process was completely disproportionate to what should have been a straightforward transaction. Quite frankly, coordinating this pickup felt less like arranging laundry service and more like coordinating a hostage exchange for a bag of clean clothes. The laundry may have been clean, but the customer service experience left a great deal to be desired. Clear communication, consistent instructions, transparent pricing, and reliable pickup arrangements should be basic expectations--not things the customer has to repeatedly chase down. 1/5 stars. The laundry may be clean, but my patience definitely isn't.
