I feel truly bad for the newer employees who join the team here and *want* to provide decent service but are seriously impeded from doing so by the inefficient mess that is management and legacy employees here. In our experience, service is generally decent ONLY if the place is empty (so basically any weeknight), and the servers are seating tables themselves. On our most recent visit, one of the supposedly veteran hostesses was turning customers away from even waiting for a table. The people in front of us asked how long the wait might be, and she just made a face and exclaimed that she had no idea how long the wait was, and just simply refused to provide any sort even vague non-guaranteed general guess (this IS your job, right?) or any sort of placement on a waitlist. I don't know what happened to those people - if they waited or left, but we got seated outside. 30 minutes later, it started to literally snow on top of us and our food and people weren't getting seated out there anymore. So, seeing the inside had thinned out just a smidge, I asked the other hostess if we could switch to the table she was bussing, since nobody appeared to be waiting for a table. I repeat: there were NO waiting customers by the hostess stand at that time. She said yes we could take the table and to just bring our plates inside and over to it. So we gather our things and head over, which takes about a minute. We were then making our way to the table and veteran hostess (why Mountain Creek keeps her employed, I can't understand) comes up really close behind us, effectively pushing into us, and starts yelling, "Nope! You can't do that, I'm seating someone there. Stop right there!" We tell her the hostess told us she could sit there and she replies in an accusatory tone, "No, *I'm* seating someone there." I replied, "Well it's snowing on us outside and the other hostess told us we could bring our food in and take this table, so that's what we're doing." Keep in mind we had fresh snow on us, our helmets, our food, and our drinks, and we were each playing a balancing game holding all of it. She wanted us to go back to be snowed on WHILE undermining her colleague, I guess? She relented, but when she saw the manager come over at our request, she interrupted as I was speaking to the manager, saying she was going to tell her the "truth" of what went on. The truth was that she got flustered because of a miscommunication between her and her colleague and she erred in judgement and both yelled and hurled accusations at customers. And that's kind of it. The manager, clearly harried was nice enough, even volunteered, unprompted, that crappy treatment is supposed to be the "old" Mountain Creek way, but who knows if anything will really change here. Beyond this one experience, they generally seem ill-equipped to effectively handle more than a sparse crowd. It's a shame their FOH situation is so dicey because we've found the food here to be pretty good, especially the nachos. Oh well. read more

My husband and I come to Mountain Creek often. We are season pass holders and have visited the Kink Bar on numerous visits for their decent food (especially when compared to the other options at south) and moderate prices. However, after today, we have decided that we are never going to visit the Kink Bar again. To echo some of the previous reviews about this place - the service is terrible. Not bad, not below average - terrible. From the moment you walk in, you aren't even acknowledged at all. There is no signage, no hostess, no indication whatsoever as to how or when you will be seated. We have dealt with this numerous times but on this particular visit we grew tired of watching other impatient families, couples, teenage kids cutting through the line and making seats for themselves so we seated ourselves on the patio area outside. As if it were some sort of gag, a waitress finally acknowledged us but only for seating ourselves, not because we had been waiting for 20 minutes. She quickly scolded me for doing so and told me I would then have to order from the bar. Fine, we had already decided to stiff your tip for such horrendous service and attitude, and we hadn't even ordered yet. I wish that's where the negativity ends, but it only begins there. Much like other past reviews, the order was never put in. Thus, we are waiting for over 1 hour before realizing that our food was not coming. The food next to us left by previous guests was never cleaned up for the entire 2 hours we were there as well, so new guests were forced to eat/drink around these leftovers. Disgusting. One young group was actually a good sport about it and said you left them free food as a joke. After hastily eating a meal we waited 1/3 of our day for, paying for the meal was another disaster in itself. Not a single person knew who had taken the order nor did they know what we ate. It took another 10 minutes for them to figure that out. We did not receive a single apology for the entire ordeal. read more

Food is pretty bad. I have ordered a number of items and almost all of it can be found at Burger King. Quality may be better at Burger King and it's only a mile away. Bartenders consistently forget to put orders in and seem to have a lot of trouble handling the 15-seat bar. O and I have found 2 large shards of glass in drinks I have ordered. Consistently bad service at the bar and food is terrible. The only reason we come here is because it is right on the mountain. Best tip I can give is check your drinks before you drink and if you order something, double check that your order made it to the computer! Mountain Creek is a great mountain, but the bar isn't great. read more

Came here for a beer and food break around lunch time. We were seated right away and the waitress was very nice and quick to get us our drinks. My friend ordered a burger medium cooked but it came out really quick and not medium, it felt like they almost had the burgers pre-cooked; he said that if it wasn't for the bacon it would've been a bad one. I ordered wings and tried their new Ranch Buffalo Sauce but it wasn't all that great, same for the wings they were decent enough. Other than the food not been all that great the ambience and the service was pretty good. read more

You know how there are some people you meet in life that are so stupid or incapable, you wonder how they don't fall down more and kind of fear for their general safety? Well Kink is kind of the equivalent to that type of human, in bar form. I really could just end this review there with enough said, but a few examples should really drive the point home. On three separate occasions, I have found a shard of glass in my beer. Not once, EVER, has a food order come out correct and/or in a reasonable amount of time. In fact, approximately 20% of the time, the order never gets put in, and if they correct the mistake they won't bother rushing it to make up for the ridiculous delays. The food is seriously crappy too, like elementary school cafeteria crappy. The service is abysmal. They look at you weird when you want to order, as if it is strange that you expect them to accommodate such a thing, them being the service staff and what not. This is the only bar I've ever seen or heard of whose service is so notoriously bad that the patrons all know they have to stand in one spot at the bar, in an organized line, to not confuse the bartender and maintain any hope that they will ever get a drink. No joke, ONE good bartender could turn this place around. We keep going because, quite frankly, it's the only option at the bottom of the lift. And, when the kegs aren't kicked, they do have a small handful of good craft beers. If it weren't for its location and zero competition, this place would've crashed and burned many years ago. I have very little confidence that it will ever improve, mostly because they seem distinctly aware that they are your only option, but a girl can hope right? read more

I have been here many time... if I was rating strictly on food I would give Kink 5 stars. The service is absolutely terrible especially on weekends. It's not really the waiters faults either. They're severely understaffed. It's a free for all so you seat yourself and from what I've been told you have to go up to them and tell them where you're seated to get served. So then you're lucky if they come to you. They forget food you ordered. Food takes forever to come out. It's convenient because it's right off the base but I have never had a pleasant experience unless there's not many customers. I don't know why I come back. read more

OMG! Horrible service. Went there to see Katie Henry Band (The band was awesome! )Asked the same server 2 times for cocktails with no success. On the 3rd try, ordered two beverages a burger and pulled pork sliders with little hope of seeing anything. Waited another 10 minutes for beverages & 20 more for food. Sliders were luke warm, burger over-cooked & fries mushy & warm. Such a shame - place has potential to be a cool place to hang facing the slopes & listen to live music. Great bar at Mt Creek, Food is great, hot and served in a timely fashion. The wait staff is attentive and always on top of their guests needs. The drinks are great as well, but a bit overpriced, but considering the size, Ill pay the price. The burbon Bloody Mary is to die for, great garnishes. Fries come with a tasty sauce and the chilly has just the right amount of zing. Stop up here after skiing, you will enjoy the food, drinks, staff and atmosphere. read more

The beer is ok but don't get the shrimp and grits. I got one shrimp cut up in my shrimp and grits entree for 14 dollars not even 2 shrimp just one all cut up. It's sad. And the grits are cooked wrong. Verry underdone read more

Went skiing at mountain creek for the first time yesterday. I had a great time as the weather was wonderful (guys in shorts and tshirts skiing). Stopped at kink for lunch and had the pulled pork slider special, nachos and beer. I really liked the sliders and would get them again. read more

They are so disorganized, they don't even seat you themselves(you have to hunt down a table as people are leaving), they don't clean the tables, even after ordering our food a waitress grabbed the food and brought it to another table with people she knew that sat down at least 20-30 min after us. Food is actually pretty good but horrendous service. For busy weekends wouldn't you think they would plan to have enough staff working the restaurant/bar??? Waitresses were getting frustrated at customers who didn't know whether they should wait to be seated or jump on a table when one opens up. There's no direction or organization. Come on, Creek, you need to take a CLOSE look at what's going on inside Kink kitchen. Clearly, what I had ordered, barbecue turkey leg, was pre-cooked, had been sitting around for some time, was starting to spoil before being warmed up, and was served to me with inside parts ICE cold and without ANY concern for my enjoyment or safety. Even the server said it looked disgusting. The staff did the right thing but that doesn't relieve you of being responsible for quality control and safety when it comes to food - especially when paying a premium. Perhaps it's time to invite Gordon Ramsey for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Looking at other reviews, it doesn't appear that I am alone. read more
