Early dinner in Franklin, New Jersey on 3-15-25, The Ides of March! When we drove past Irish Cottage Inn, my friends reminisced about the fun times they had when they been there. I suggested that we go today - before it gets crowded on St. Patrick's Day. They agreed! We got there around 3pm and parking was a bit tight in the front of the building. We waited at the receptionist's post a while before we got seated. Live, peppy music was happening in the pub side of the restaurant. We got a table in the back... and I had a chance to use a coat rack for my long coat! LOL! Our server was friendly and efficient. She quickly brought my friends their meals of fish and chips and Bangers. I got the Corned Beef En Croute which is Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes, baked into a flakey pastry. It was excellent with a creamy horseradish sauce... amazing! We also shared a piece of Banoffee Pie: slices of banana on a graham crust with homemade toffee, fresh coffee cream topping, and caramel drizzle! Wow! Yummy! I'm so glad we stopped by! Going early paid off again!

This is the worst thing I've ever been served. Greasy burnt hockey pucks.

While out running errand in a town far, far away from our home, we decided to stop at the Irish Cottage Inn. I was a little skeptical after seeing the wide variety of reviews, but I'm glad I ignored the bad ones because we had a fantastic lunch. We started with a couple beers...and in an Irish pub we had Guinness and Harp. Wifey ordered the Sliders and had one of each - pulled pork, corned beef, and a regular beef bacon cheeseburger. I went with one of my stand-by meals..Fish and chips. We ended up doing halvzies and split our meals. The sliders were great, though I liked the corned beef one the best. The fish and chips were good, but not so amazing that they'd stand out from other fish and chips meals. Our waitress, also the bartender, was awesome. Very friendly, got us our drinks and food quickly and was nice to talk to before and during our meal. The restaurant itself is your normal Irish pub. Tables weren't crammed together, bar area was nice and had a couple tvs. If I lived up here this would be a go-to place for me.

Corn beef Reuben was sloppy but so good and their clam chowder is so bomb every time I go I get the chowder I tell everyone bout it

Love this cozy Irish pub! Friendly service and the cutest restaurant. I love all the pieces of history they have decorating the pub. Tons of Irish fare on the menu which is fun. The Irish coffee is fantastic!! We also got the clam chowder which was some of the best I've ever had.

Food was really good. Service was awesome. Decent size portions. We happened to go there while they were doing karaoke so that was entertaining. We will definitely be back

The menu pricing is inaccurate. The kids meals are listed as 6.99 and we were charged over $10. The food isn't great for the cost.

Nice bar, and good selection for wines and beer. Parking is street parking mostly and they have couple of parking spots to the side of the restaurant. Genuine hospitality that welcomes you like they've known you forever. You are going to ask why you haven't been here many times before after you visit. Everything is of quality and fresh. The menu is concentrated offering a nice balance of traditional items and Irish dishes. The Potato and Leek Soup is made very well with such a clean smooth broth and plenty of potato and leek present in the soup. Try the Cajun Chicken and Sausage gumbo was a nice option offering Big pieces of Chicken and Andouille Sausage. Nice kick but not overwhelming. Clams or Mussels appetizers are on point and worth sharing with the table. The Corned Beef and Cabbage dish was amazing and definitely NOT bland! Lean Corned Beef and fresh hand cut veggies make this a must have! The NY Strip, is tender, cooked perfectly and recommend having the whiskey sauce over the top! For $38.95 it is a bargain! Highly recommended as it literally checks every box for me. Will definitely return!

Wings weren't the best but we enjoyed the pork chop Murphy, cod and strip steak with old school classic steak fries. Only slight ding was my draft Harp. I love Harp but it had a skunky after taste, most likely from unclean beer lines. Place itself is very cozy and cute but pretty small. Perfectly mellow live music was great and was delighted that no tv was on. Parking can be a bit tricky. Service was good and as noted, super friendly! QM isn't too close to my home but I hope to be back!

It was served over a bed of gravy, which was an interesting and delicious twist on a classic burger. * Green Goddess Chicken Sandwich: My wife really enjoyed this one. With that being said the service we received here yesterday was outstanding and better than any five star restaurant. I cannot say how wonderful our waiter was.. I can't remember his name because let's face it. I had a few drinks because that's what it's about there. I believe it was. Giancarlo? So the manager if you see this, please let me know if that's correct or not. This kid was incredible. He was helpful without being overbearing. He was great with his beer knowledge, but we really sold me was when there was a table behind us that had a son with special needs at this young man treated that table with kindness and compassion and really we need more of that. To the owner of this business, I know that the wait staff gets a very minimal amount per hour because they depend on tips, but if there's anyway you can raise his base pay, I would love to see that we were only gonna have one drink each, but because of how he treated us we ended up having two for me and three for my husband, that young man is an investment
