The Gazette Live Tour 19 THE NINTH: PHASE towel for VIP ticket holders Kinky Kontrol made and some buttons.
    Mirella N.

I haven't ordered any merchandise from him, but I can tell you about the quality in the towels and buttons he makes. I have a Gazette towel and a few buttons that Kinky Kontrol made and they are top quality. The print on the towel hasn't faded and the color is bright. He made these towels for The Gazette's recent tour "Live Tour 19 THE NINTH: PHASE" VIP ticket holders. The buttons I own are from his Skapeche Mode band and other cute prints. The images on the buttons have good color, the buttons are well made and I accidentally washed a few of them in a full load and nothing happened to them. I've met him a few times at gigs as well and he's the nicest dude you'll ever meet. Super energetic and funny. If you check out his instagram account you'll also see how much his other customers love his work. He also has sales almost every month and seems to accomodate any type of project size in those sales as well.

The store is located at the Row DTLA, which is a recently renovated shopping area. I'm generally not a big fan of downtown, but this place was really nice. It felt safe and there was plenty of parking. Overall I would definitely recommend Hightide for stationary shopping. Pros: -Great section of unique products. -The store has a fun vibe -Plenty of parking. 2 hours free. -Located in a nice shopping area. Cons -some of their products like the pen cases are a bit too expensive in my opinion. -it is a small space so it can get crowded during peak shopping hours.

They also had a lot of traditional items/supplies for tea ceremonies, calligraphy, and kimonos. I had fun looking through all the items as it brought me back to our summer in Japan. Apparently they have a long standing history in LA, having opened in 1946 after World War II. The shop occupies the site of the first Japanese-owned business in Los Angeles, circa 1890's. Pretty cool! I have a soft spot for everything animal shaped and soo.... I picked up a fun/odd felt tiger Christmas ornament, a cat pen, and a super cute bronze cat shaped spoon that hangs on the side of your cup. Did I need it? No.... but it's fun and makes me happy. Haha! Overall, great shop to browse around and find some unique gift items. They even wrap up your purchases in paper bags like they do in Japan. I LOVE IT!

Then as we entered I noticed it was mainly all Korean stores that we passed by. The place does look old and a little ran down. And the elevators wasn't working when we was there. We had to use the escalators since we parked upstairs but didn't even kno that lol. We passed by a Korean skincare stand that looked really popular or maybe they had an event cus it was a line of girls. We went to another store that sold needohs and squeeezy squishes but they was way too fuckin overpriced and tbh I couldn't tell if they was the legit real ones or not so passed on that. Then the food court was probably the best part of the mall that we explored besides H-mart. I went to use the restroom there and it didn't look too clean. The food court had so many different little eateries I wanted to try them out but we was already going to a noodle place after. I should've just tried it out anyway cus the noodle place we went to was mid af lol. Maybe next time we come back I will!
