I have been wanting to try this place for almost a year, and finally I had the chance to try Kinsley's funnel cake! My sister and I decided to come here for a weekend sweet treat, and we're so glad we did! The owner was behind the counter, and informed us that they had just reopened after spending a few days working out of their food truck. We got to meet Kinsley, the owner's daughter and who the restaurant is named after. Their mission is to support people who have Down syndrome and they hire them to work at the restaurant. The location is small, but they do have a couple of tables to sit and eat your food. After looking at the extensive menu, we decided to share the peach cobbler funnel cake, a popular item there. The funnel cake is large, and the ice cream scoop was a generous portion as well. In short, it was so good. We wanted to immediately go back the next day for another funnel cake, but we have some self control. I can't wait to go back and support this local business and try another fun flavor! I haven't been to Kinsley's since during COVID but whenever I came here with my auntie we always loved it there. The funnel cakes were AMAZING, the service is also amazing and the ambiance is amazing too. It always smelled great in there, it was always clean, all that good stuff. We had stopped visiting when one of the workers there came down with COVID but I do plan to come back very soon! read more

Ms. Kimberly is the sweetest! From when I called to when I got there. Very warm, welcoming, pleasant vibes. She told us everything available (even dipping dots!) I really liked the decor as well. Now onto the funnel cake with homemade ice cream.... Lord hamercy it was so good! I don't like strawberry ice cream but I haven't eaten ice cream that tastes like that since I was a kid. Stumbled upon this placing while looking at reviews for a different dessert shop. OMG, how did I go so long without this place in my life. The lady greeted us upon coming in. She even took the time to explain their concept. The place was clean, but it could use a new coat of paint to cover some water stains. Don't let that deter you from going, because this place is a must if you love funnel cakes and homemade ice cream. On this particular visit we enjoyed two funnel cakes. The first one was the Strawberry and Banana Funnel Cake topped with Banana ice cream. The second was the Over the Hills Oreo Funnel Cake, topped with Triple Oreo ice cream. I ordered strawberry cheesecake funnel cake was delicious and I must say while I was waiting for my funnel cake I tried there homemade ice cream was delicious plus I heard they had fresh squeezed lemonade was so refreshing and was excited they had these refill cups for $10.00 but u get a free refill when you order anything. Went for the first time today and loved it! My fiancé and I got the fruity pebbles funnel cake to share and it was great! I was worried it would be too sweet but it was honestly perfect and not at all over-whelming. The ice cream and the funnel cakes are homemade and SO good. Even if you aren't looking to get a funnel cake the ice cream itself is bomb and worth trying. The workers were very kind, helpful and informative. You can tell they take pride in what they make and I love that! The place itself is cute, very fun decorations and had great music playing. Definitely a great place to bring some friends or family members and just hang out for a bit. We will DEFINITELY be back to try more. read more

My review received complaints from what I assume is the ownership, so I'll update a few things about what I wrote below to provide clarification to my comments - although my original review will remain the same. I believe everything I wrote was relevant. The smell of weed within the shoppe was suffocating, and not something that is at all appetizing when you are coming to enjoy desserts. A bad attitude is an instant turn off to wanting to return to an establishment. And I think it's obvious that spraying anything from an aerosol can around food is a pretty instant appetite repellant. As far as being asked to wear a mask, at the time this was written I always would put one on when and where required, but being asked to wear a mask by two people who are not wearing them, is what caused us to leave without ordering. I am sad this was our experience since we were looking forward to it. One thing I will change is this sentence: "The young lady working the register was out in the back and it smelled strongly like pot, with all the doors wide open, and she had the most unpleasant demeanor when we came in." I can't say I SAW her smoking, but it was my assumption. read more

I grew up in NYC, Coney Island famous for its funnel cake. First time visiting , and who said funnel cake was only for NYC. This is amazing funnel cake. We got the Banana Split and Strawberry Cher's cake funnel cake and the homemade, Pina Colada and Watermelon Lemonade. 10/10 recommend! We had a large party and they were super accommodating. It was so hard to make a decision on what I wanted because EVERYTHING on the menu was on point!!!! I had the Banana Pudding and my cousin had the Fruity Pebbles and all we kept saying was "This is amazing!" The rest of our party tried a variety of their homemade ice creams and we didn't hear a peep due to them stuffing their faces with awesomeness! After a few tastes, I landed on Sweet Cream and Cookie Crush--and wow. The sweet cream was classic and comforting, instantly reminding me of my grandmother's homemade ice cream. The cookie crush brought bold flavor: rich, house-made dark chocolate cookies folded into salty vanilla ice cream. The perfect balance of sweet, salty, and indulgent. Pros: Warm and happy aesthetic, heavenly cone smells, and super friendly staff. Cons: The inside is a bit small with limited seating--but during warmer days, the outdoor patio offers plenty of space to enjoy your scoop. I will absolutely be returning to Melt.
