This is a very dangerous place. I lose all control on choosing what to take home. On the other hand, this is where you can use your free will. lol. So much pastries to choose from. I want them all and nothing really can stop me. Discovered this bakery while we were on our way to lunch. Decided that this will be our next stop after said lunch. I'm so glad we stopped in. Hidden gem I saw on T.T..... so glad I tried out this bakery! Their items are really delicious! I tried several types and flavors and every single one was tasty! They are also super huge- Texas size and at a great price for what you get! Lots of flavor combinations and choices! There must have been at least 50 different choices. They also have lots of cakes in the fridge ready to go! Staff was friendly and helpful for my first visit. When you enter, get a silver pan and some tongs, then load up on the treats. Take your pan to the register and they will box them up for you. It's a nice set up inside and the sweet pastry smell makes you want to buy more! Honestly, this bakery never disappoints. It's probably my fifth visit, and both my mom and I still love it just as much. The bread tastes authentic, fresh, and the prices are almost too good to be true -- each piece going for just cents. We came about half an hour before closing, so the selection was a little thin, but still worth it. Guanajuato Bakery is the Mexican bakery in this part of Fort Worth and it serves the community well. The bread, pastry, and cookie selection is thorough, plus it's complimented by many cakes. When you walk in, you'll grab a large metal tray and tongs to grab any items you'd like. Then you wait in line with it all where you return your tray and tongs as you pay. Prices are very reasonable. I needed a big cake for 50 people and compared various cakes from other bakeries in town and Guanajuato's with several friends. We all agreed that Guanajuato's chocolate strawberry cake was superior! Guanajuato told me the cake would serve 40, but the cake was unbelievably tall and easily served more than 50! My guests all wanted to know where I got this moist cake, and the left overs were still moist after several days in the fridge! The staff there is very friendly. The bakery serves many other typical Mexican cakes and breads. I like the chocolate flan cake as well but they only make them in a smaller size. read more

Guanajuato Bakery on Belknap in Riverside is possibly the BEST kept secret near downtown Fort Worth! I asked hubby to make a pitstop for me on the way to a client shoot a few weeks back just wanting to pick up some basic goodies for all the talent coming to set that day... only to walk into a land of the biggest flakiest croissants, perfectly cloudy-like donuts, savory kolaches, conchas and more! Amazing bakery! My daughter has been wanting tres leches cake so I did a google search and Guanajuato popped up. It had such great reviews, I knew we had to check it out. The bakery itself is located in a bit so great area but hey... I think that's where a lot of the great restaurants usually are. Parking is also limited. The bakery is clean and large. There is no seating. It's grab and go. It's similar to 85 Degrees where you grab a tray and tongs, grab what you want and pay. They have probably have every Hispanic bakery item you could ever want and more. They also had tres leches by the slice. I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the cake before my daughter devoured it. There were so many mouth watering options I had to stop myself from the urge to grab one of everything. My daughter and I grabbed the items we just had to have and vowed we would come back to try more another time. When you walk in the check out is right in front of you and on the right several refrigerators on the right filled with beautifully decorated cakes. The cakes are separated by design and each is a tres leches cake. Now when I think of tres leches cakes I always thought of white cake. I bought a chocolate tres leches that was chocolate! Who would of thought! The flavor was light and chocolatey. Somehow they managed to keep the cake dry instead of the leche soaking the bottom of the cake. When I checked out they asked if I wanted strawberries. they put 4 large glazed cover strawberries on top. The cake was beautiful and tasty. A great place to pick up a last minute tres leches cake! Parking is VERY LIMITED so you may have to park on the street. The store itself has many many offerings and can be quite overwhelming. You basically just grab a platter and some tongs and fill up the platter with what you want. All cakes are grabbed from the fridge by the associates so you can just tell them which one you want. We have been regulars at this small bakery for 2 years now. Plenty of options to choose from and everything is great. Also ordered my child's birthday cake from here which was a bit pricy but it was a huge cake and decorated exactly as I wanted, plus it was delicious so no complaints here. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the sweetness which makes you never want to leave. Cashiers are always attentive to keep the line moving. Definitely recommend to anyone but be aware, there is VERY limited parking so many times people must park on the side street instead of the parking lot. read more

We tried this bakery after a recommendation from one of the "foodie" Facebook groups. It was much larger than I expected! We weren't sure exactly how things worked so we observed others and followed suit. Pick up a metal platter that looks sort of like a pizza tray, grab a pair of tongs and go pick out all of the wonderful treats! I knew I wanted tres leches cakes (they have chocolate and vanilla) - both were amazing!). We didn't really know what most of the other things were so we selected a few that looked good and added those to our tray. We met a great family in line for the register that gave us hints as to other things we might like, and they didn't lie! I can't wait for our next trip! I was excited to treat my kids with their gorgeous cake pops. I picked up a variety of bread selection, and macaroons. So disappointed. What the hell are those cake pops made out of. Raw dough?????? They were inedible my kids did not eat them. They took a bite and spit it out! So I tried it, same reaction. Awful. Then I went straight to the macaroons and I was not surprised. They have no clue what a macaroon is supposed to be like. It was like bitting into a food coloring cracker. I felt so lied to. This hurt. The other bread was actually okay, not soft and fresh but at least it was still edible enough to hack into a soft bread all over again. There's ways.
