I used to come here because it was affordable and they did a great job replacing my phone screen. I got my phone screen replaced a few months ago and not only has the price increased but they didn't properly fix my phone screen. The top right edge of the screen didn't seem properly aligned but everything was working fine (and I made the mistake of saying I didn't need my receipt) so I left it as is. Over the past months the screen has just come undone from the phone entirely. The camera is fuzzy, Face ID no longer works, and the screen will often stop responding to touch. If you have the money for it get your screen replaced by apple directly, it might cost a bit more but at least you can be certain the screen works and you will be able to trade your phone in at a later time for a discount. Apple won't take any old phones unless it has a "certified apple" screen. read more

Took one star off because the replacement glass they use has a bigger bezel than the original iPhone. Not a big deal but I would've liked to have been told that beforehand instead of wondering if I was going crazy thinking it was bigger. Stopped by to take my iPhone 6s Plus because although the screen was clean and clear but it went black due to being dropped. I already had it repaired once somewhere else for the same thing and had an idea of the cost. The guy behind the counter wanted to over charge me by $60 bucks! On top of that they had coupons for 10% of a phone repair and I asked if I could use that and he said no, that's for next time. I said but I'm here now and he still said no. Kintech is located off 290 off Jones Road in the shopping strip that houses E-star Chinese buffet. It's right next to it and you cannot miss it. There is ample parking available outside. Once you get inside, it's a really cool shop with a chess board, netflix, lounge-y seating, and H2O which I think is a nice touch and really should be mandatory in all Houston shops as it feels like you are walking on Jupiter outside almost year round. I was greeted immediately on both visits with a pleasant professional demeanor. I came into Kintech to get my dad's iPhone 5's battery fixed. The battery kept dying within minutes of being charged. Even after it was charged to100%. I took the iPhone to Kintech because of a recommendation and I got excellent service. Unfortunately the phone was worse this time. However, I took the phone back and they replaced the battery free of any additional cost and gave great customer service. If it wasn't for my friend, I wouldn't have ever known about Kintech. It might be a little out of the way for people that are not from that part of town but it's really a cool shop. It's great for cell phone repair with good service which is really hard to come by. I have the Iphone 7 and never had the battery issue on the older model that everyone else did. I had this phone for about a year and then the battery became an issue. I was draining to 20% without doing anything. Apple wants you to make an appointment at the Apple store to get it replaced or send it to them. So that means your without a phone. Not a good solution. I went to these guys before stepping into Subway and they had me hooked and did a great job in about 30 minutes. Battery issue is totally gone away and now I have about 89% at the end of the day. Great company and great customer service! If your into it they also have a VR arcade. Not really my thing but that is pretty cool if you're into that. HIghly recommend this company. read more

My phone screen cracked at work and was on a time crunch I googled phone repair stores near me and Kintech came up I decided to stop just because they pride themselves in 30 minute or less repairs so I decided to stop during my hour of lunch. I went in and the staff was so friendly from the greeting to the goodbye. They noticed I was in a rush and took my phone right in. Came to fix my broken screen for the 2nd time and they did an amazing job. And while I was here I was able to try out the NEW VR for PS4. It's a different way of playing. So if y'all need anything fixed come try out the VR for yourself. Different day: My laptop turned off one day and didn't turn on again. So I took it in to go get it checked out. I needed my laptop to study for my exam. They found out the battery was the issue. They said could have it ready the day before my exam. The staff is awesome as far as friendly but i am not sure about the work and the product sucks. The glass they use cannot be viewed with polarized lens. In Texas huge problem. I had a broken glass, thats it on my iphone 7. Yes i dropped my phone, first time ever to break the glass. Now the home button has a mind of its own. They said this happens every so often. The sensitive of the screen sucks, the phones freezes, and sometimes it opens up another app i didnt touch. With the broken glass i had no issues. I cracked my phone screen and needed a replacement. Got a decent quote from this place went in to see if they could fix it. They said it would have to dropped off early in the morning to get same day delivery so we scheduled for me to drop off two days later. When I came in they said they couldn't guarantee same day and then wanted to charge me 50 dollars more than the quote. I was mad because had they told me the truth I could've spent the 2 days looking for someone else to fix my screen. They honored the quote but only because I had the message with the quote. When I went to pick the phone up the screen wasn't clean. The guy didn't want to clean it so I had to threaten to walk guy without paying to get him to fix it. Once I got home the fingerprint scanner won't work so I called them and they refused to help with the issue because they said I was rude because I wouldn't allow them to lie and change every promise they made. Needed to buy an inexpensive smartphone to trade in for a new iPhone 6s Plus. KinTech came up with a smart phone for 75 bucks and I was able to trade for an AT&T iPhone 6s Plus that gave me a $300 credit towards my AT&T bill. I also gave them on consignment an iPhone 5 which they were able to sell for me for $375 and only charged me 25 bucks to do it. I can't recommend KinTech highly enough. Went in to repair a cracked screen on my Galaxy S7 black. They ordered a S7 black screen but the distributor made a mistake and shipped a S7 silver screen. We decided that it would still work so they made the replacement anyways. Now, my phone has a silver screen but they kept the black button so it stands out more, they also replaced the back with a silver one so it would match the front. All in all, the phone looks way cooler now because it appears more custom. When I picked it up the first time, I found a dead spot on my screen and I let them know and they were able to fix it after a day, no problem. Now, it works perfectly and my phone has never looked better. I was very impressed with their customer service and the timely manner in which they resolved my issues. read more

Recommendation in short: Go to Apple to get your screen fixed, they charge very nearly the same, like exactly the same price. Only difference is you have to wait about a week before going to Apple because you make an appointment but it's well worth the wait. And the phone will look like new, I've done it before. Full story: I cracked my iPhone 6 Plus and went to T-Mobile as I wanted to pre-order the iPhone 7. I'd trade in my current phone for credit towards the new one and this required fixing the screen. A manager at T-Mobile recommended I go here (Kintech) and I did because the reviews on here were really good and consistent. I got it replaced for $140 and my phone was finished very fast (about 15 minutes). As soon as I got home I noticed white splotches on the display and planned on going back the next day to address the issue. These spots were never there on my original screen that I cracked. My phone then cracked that night after laying it on my nightstand from like a 4 inch drop. When I took it back he said there was a loose screw and that caused the crack so they'd replace it free the next day with an appointment. I go the following day and tell another person about it and address the white spots and he said it would be fixed. After about 10 minutes the screen is replaced but the white spots remained. I showed him and he took it back again for about 30 minutes this time. He came back saying "we've replaced it 3 times and the spots are still there so that means the mid-frame of the phone is damaged and pushing up on the display". Not knowing anything about phone repair I couldn't argue in store but after research I learned if the frame is bent it shouldn't show white spots 24/7, only when pressure is applied. White spots always showing means it's a cheap replacement display or installed improperly (via websites like MacRumors and other apple forums). Since I'm trading my phone in he even said, "but don't worry T-Mobile won't notice it". Although true it just felt like he was excusing bad work and not going to fix it perfectly because my phone would end up being traded in. Unfortunately my iphone 7 doesn't come in for a month so that's how long I have to live with this screen. To top it off, when I get home, I notice there's a dead pixel in the bottom left quarter of the screen. It just shines green constantly and is very annoying while watching videos. I came here with a cracked and very broken iPhone 6 screen. They took the phone in and quickly began fixing it, while seating me in a lounge like environment playing YouTube videos on a smart tv while allowing me to choose whatever I wanted to watch. I sat there watching videos with another employee there, while they not only gave me updates on the process and where they were at, but also showing me the workings behind the screen and what they had to do to fix everything. Overall, it was an awesome experience, with a much better environment than any other shop I've ever been to. The work was perfect as they even showed me where a previous shop had repaired my phone and forgotten to put a screw back, though Kintech quickly went out of their way to put a new screw in for replacement, and ensure that everything else was there. Kintech is an awesome business, filled with great people, who do amazing work. More businesses need to be like this, where they not only focus on the job that needs to be done, but also the people who are there and often without any technology(which would have been extremely boring without them stepping in and fixing that problem before I ever realized it was one). I can't recommend Kintech enough, and thank you for not only doing great work, but also proactively providing entertainment so the time spent without my phone was greater than I ever thought it would be. read more

I went here today to have my Iphone 5s screen fixed since I had badly cracked it. One of the staff members, Eric, took care of my phone within less than 30 mins. When I got my phone back, it felt like it was a brand new phone again. Also, while I was waiting for my phone, I was pretty much treated like I was at home since they allow you to browse around with their smart tv and they also have other small entertainment to keep you busy while they fix your phone. Overall, I had the best experience here and felt I was treated with the best customer experience, which you'll probably won't get at a different phone repair shop. What a repair!! My iPhone 6 got a little wet but was working fine after for about 6 hours then my phone started to shut off. Then my phone wouldn't turn on I thought it was done. I called apple to find out my phone was 4 days out of warranty. So I didn't want to pay $300 for a new phone. I couldn't back up my phone so I thought I would lose everything but that's when I called Kintech. They diagnosed my phone in 10 minutes and told me my screen was just fried. They offered to install a replacement screen for just $109. I took it, and I was so glad to see my phone turn on. So if your phone is fried and out of warranty or if your screen is just cracked come to here. Also words of advice is to back up your phone when you get a chance just in case they can't fix it and your phone won't turn on. read more
