Went here during Volleyball Tourney. Busy Sat. night, but service was acceptable. Had Lake perch, cornmeal crusted & fried. Not greasy which was good. Usual fries. Some craft beer on draft. It is not your typical dive serving reheated frozen food. It takes pride in its menu and competes with the trendy areas of large cities. My first time at Luke's was well worth the drive from Lima! The Scottish eggs are a must have, but only if you're Scottish. They won't taste that good if you are German, Japanese, Ecuadorian, etc. I enjoyed the mozzarella skewers, the buttery sauce served with it was very good but it probably didn't help my clogged arteries. But that's my own fault because I have trouble with impulse control. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff did their best to check up on us and get us what we needed. When our waiter was busy, another waiter asked us if we needed anything. The employees are friendly and I would definitely invite them to my first born child's baptism. It's only right. I am very disappointed that there was a deer shot inside the restaurant and that they now have said deer's head mounted on the wall. It made me queasy and uncomfortable, but if that's the aesthetic they're striving for I guess I shouldn't complain. This place rocks!! It's a cozy little bar with somewhat of a family feel to it. The atmosphere is very clean and relaxed. The service is friendly and very helpful, just great people. The food is truly good bar food. We tried the cheesy garlic dip with breadsticks, scotch eggs, and a few burgers. The food was hot, good presentation, not overly greasy, and very satisfying. We did not order any beer or drinks due to coming in around 11AM for lunch only. We could hear some talk from the kitchen and again, we could tell it was a laid back and friendly atmosphere. This is one of the nicest bars I've ever been to and I highly recommend coming for food. We will back to have a few beers with our food next time. read more

I have to say this is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The place just has an air about it. The bar is full service if you care to partake. Plenty of choices from beers to whiskey or wine, whatever you like. The food is first rate. I highly recommend the chicken, bacon, ranch pizza or the Reuben pizza! Both will blow your mind. The Scottish eggs are out of this world. If you don't know what they are make sure you ask them when you get there. You won't be disappointed no matter what you order. The seating is at a premium. The main issue with this restaurant is how slow it is. And when I say slow, I mean SLOW. Unfortunately we can't go here to eat with our young child because a 2-3 year old cannot be expected to sit and wait patiently for their food 1-2 hours. I'm an adult and I can barely stand it... As for the food, it's hit and miss. The Scottish eggs are good and the Chicken Caprese pasta is delicious. The calamari on the other hand is DISGUSTING. I've lived in Bluffton all my life, and Luke's has always been very good. Lately their service has been awful, slow, and the waiters/ waitresses can be rude. The food is GREAT, for anyone who ate there last a few years ago, GO BACK, as the menu is totally different. It is not typical low quality "bar food", but is pretty great by normal restaurant standards. Some favorites are the buffalo chicken pizza, the veggie sub, and of course the hand cut fries (the chips are good, too). The burgers are great and all of the subs I've had are also delicious. Drinks are good, everything is pretty reasonably priced too. They even have gluten free options now, although the quality of those items is hit or miss. Service can be slow, the ambiance feels like a bar, and there can be really long wait times. Try to avoid busy times unless you have a few hours to kill. They now have a really nice patio which is great unless there is a band and you were hoping to hear your dinner partner talk, or if there are bees. read more

Luke's is a commonplace for the college students at Bluffton University. Most times this is a kid-friendly place but obviously the later it gets the more likely students will be coming in to drink-mainly Wednesdays for college night karaoke. Worse service ever, was in this place for 20 minutes before waitress bothered to come see what we wanted to order. Only thing good about this place is the music, well "PEGASUS"...they are the only reason we stayed..Luke could have made alot of money that night, but need better waitress staff.
