Lol. Their brisket is so tender and juicy that it basically starts to tear itself apart when you pick it up. It goes toe for toe with some of the best in Houston. The house made sausage we ordered sandwich style - two buns, plenty of sausage and topped w/plenty of fixings. We also got their corn and brisket Mac n Cheese (YES, they have B-mac) as the sides. They were also amazing: the corn was generously lathered in butter and slightly sweet. The B-mac was incredibly cheesy and also savory thanks to the delicious brisket juices mixed with the noodles. Can't forget about the service as well. Very friendly, very helpful and super proud of the food they serve. They stand behind what they are cooking and serving to people. I love that they are so close to home and have been here for a while. You can find their food truck parked in front of the Scarlet Barbell Club gym on Wednesday-Saturday's. It's a decent size lot that has plenty of parking. They also have a tent and a little table in front. HIGHLY recommend trying them out. Owner and head pit master, David Welch puts his heart and soul into the products his restaurant turns out. Not only that, there is a lot of variety and specialty dishes on the menu that most other BBQ places don't serve. We had 14 in our group and were able to pull together some tables and chairs in the large additional dining room they added not long after opening. The room is clean and well lit, big ceiling fans keep the air moving. Our group ordered a variety of things; I had the brisket hamburger with a side of the very southern yellow squash casserole. My wife had the chopped beef sandwich with fries and another friend had the chicken plate with beans and coleslaw. Others had their tocos and other sandwiches, one had the ribs. We were all full and happy when we finished. What 's nice is David came by to check on us and make sure everyone was happy, not many owners take that kind of personal attention.

I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well. The beef rib: STELLAR. This was outstanding with its flavorful bark and an impossibly tender texture that truly melts in your mouth, unlike any other beef rib I've ever had. Easily the very best beef rib, without a doubt. The brisket was delicious, as well: tender and flavorful. The sausage was nothing special... on par with sausage elsewhere, as was the pork. The potato salad was salty and was missing any semblance of potato chunks. The texture was oddly like lumpy mashed potatoes. But the other surprise for me: the cobbler.
