    Table of food!

Have we had better hotpot and Korean BBQ? Yes, while some are definitely fresher (more turnover) but this is a great choice (and the closest to Vermont apparently that hot pot exists...drove 90min to get there from Dover VT, so you know folks were itching for hot pot and this met the craving!) For an extra $5 you can get the BBQ, so why not? And yes, service wasn't too fast, but they didn't rush folks out the door after a couple of hours of eating, drinking and chatting.

Perfect place to get away and enjoy a nice time with the family. The workers are amazing & the food is off the hook!

I'm honestly not a fan of hot pot. I've only had it in New York so I decided to try it locally but I still wasn't impressed. This restaurant only had a specific drink menu. They would not let you order anything off the menu which was very annoying. The food I guess was good quality but like I said, I'm just not a fan. Service was good. Waitress really nice and attentive.

Loved this hot pot and BBQ! You have the option todo one or the other or both. Decided todo both to try the different meats. The popcorn chicken appetizer was great but probably wouldn't get it again. Service was fast bringing out the meats too. You can keep ordering as much food as you want. Some of the foods they had were pork belly (really delicious), lobster balls, quail eggs, calamari, shrimp dumplings, etc. Pick between ramen or rice. Any mass amount of food not finished is charged extra for wasting. The pricing is average compared to other hot pots. Parking is no issue to worry about. Had a wonderful time, looking forward to coming back.

TLDR; My wife and I dropped by for dinner and had a great time. Good food, modern facilities and great service. We dropped by on a whim because my wife was craving hot pot. They had both BBQ and hot pot options, but we weren't particularly hungry, so we just went for hot pot, but would definitely like to try BBQ as well. Restaurant itself: The restaurant looked very new and clean and had a very young and relaxed ambiance. The floor was a bit slippery, but not as big of a deal as some patrons made it out to be. Bathroom was clean as well (at least the men's room was). Sauce bar: It was clean and had lots of options, and even had some suggested mixes for those unfamiliar. They had some fruits and desserts here and even had free honeydew and strawberry milk tea! Being Korea, I always try kimchi and am usually always disappointed, but Kirin had actually pretty good kimchi that would be more accessible to non-Koreans/people who haven't had kimchi before, so this was a nice surprise. The only thing I wish it had were raw eggs so I could mix the yolk into the sauce, but it's not uncommon to not have it at AYCE places. Seats/tables: The table we were sat at was in between 2 other tables. And the seats are those long couches that face both ways so that you're connected to the other party behind you. The couches were pushed so far into the table where we were sat due to the parties on either side of our table pushing the couch back. As a result, we were unable to sit in one of the seats because it was pressed right up against the table and even the other one was a rather tight fit. But we fit and we were hungry, so we just sat and ate. The tables are large. Service: Service was amazing. The server was so attentive, she made her round what must have been every few minutes so that we could (and did) flag her down really easily whenever we wanted something else. And even without flagging her down, she checked in very often to ensure everything was good. This is not the typical AYCE experience that I've had in the past and it was even better than some upscale a la carte hot pot places I've been to in Boston. Kudos to the server! Hot pot: The actual hot pot is great. Everyone gets their own hot pot, so everyone can choose their own broth out of the many they have. I had szechuan and wife had kirin special. Both broths were great. My wife isn't a huge fan of mushroom and despite kirin special supposedly having some mushroom in it, it wasn't overwhelming and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Meats: We ordered beef belly, pork belly, lamb, kobe beef, and prime brisket. The lamb was very lean, so it was a bit tough, but everything else was really good. My wife's favorite was kobe beef, but for me, everything but lamb was pretty much equal. Non-meats: We got lobster ball, qual eggs, tripe, dumping, fish cakes, and fried tofu skin. They were all good. Nothing to complain about. They didn't have the freezer burn smell as they do at some places and wasn't too salty. All in all, this was a great experience and my wife prefers this place over Spring Shabu up in Boston hands down. The fact that Spring Shabu has crazy wait times makes this place even more enticing for us. We'll definitely be back to try more hot pot and the BBQ.

Very excited to see that another Asian hotpot restaurant opened up around Hartford to Springfield area, where previously there was only one choice, the Han hotpot in west Hartford. The concept of having Korean BBQ option for $5 extra is very appealing. However, it's easily said than done, the K BBQ took forever to heat up, the food cooked wasn't as yummy as I hoped. It's also missing the famous Korean short ribs, along with 7 of 10 meat items are reserved for dinner only. The hot pot meats are also not as yummy, maybe it's the sauce? It's missing two key ingredients for making Beijing style sauce, the leek flower paste & the fermented Tofu. Overall, I find that I prefer one great option over two good options, so Han hotpot will continue to be my go to but Kirin is a welcome addiction for sure, & the lunch hotpot is All you can eat for the same price as Han. BTW, awesome front curb appeal with those giant Kirins! Last but not the least, the waitress, who's not a Chinese lady, was very nice & kind!

First time at a hot pot/korean BBQ, and it was definitely worth trying. We had the grill WITH the hot pot for an additional $5 per person. Our server was fantastic, she explained everything for us inexperienced newbies. You can order as much meat/veggies as you want. The short ribs were my favorite. There is also a small cold bar with all sorts of sauces and oils that are available to use. There is delicious sushi and seaweed salad at the cold bar. We were not rushed at all and the server was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed at all times. She also changed our grill out 3x while we were there to ensure we had a clean cooking surface for our food. 18% gratuity is added into the bill. Definitely will be back.

Food is mediocre at best. It's all you can eat with variety. Service is absolutely horrendous. You wait to be acknowledged once you're seated. Drinks take forever to come out and they even mess that up. A lot of the servers stand around and are on their phones but aren't doing their jobs. Ambiance is nice. I don't recommend this place for hotpot or Korean BBQ when there are others much better than this overpriced place. Take your business to another AYCE hotpot & KBBQ that has better quality food and service for half the price.

    Darrell L.

The Korean short ribs was my fav. I also did both the Kbbq and the hot pot choosing the Tom Yum soup base. The sushi was nothing special., but the Kbbq and hot pot items were fine.

Came here after six flags for AYCE KBBQ (but they also do AYCE hotpot). I thought the food was solid, but definitely different than what I would expect from a place advertised as Korean BBQ. Some of the marinated meats had an American BBQ flavor or Chinese BBQ flavor. They also had free boba and included the premium steak cuts in the normal AYCE price when we went. Overall, I thought the food was solid and it was worth the price. The service was okay and they regularly changed our grills when we asked.

Scumbags. They charge weekend dinner prices in the middle of the day on a Monday holiday without telling you. They also add 18% "service charge." $41.24 for lunch today for one person. I spoke to the manager about the over charge and she said it was on the board when you walk in--the board is BLANK. Must've been disappearing ink. Food was mediocre. They hit a home run today but we will NEVER spend another penny there.

The staff seem friendly from the area where you pay to get in; to the attendants that take care of your empty plates and keep your soda cup full. Again, this is no high-end restaurant and anyone that expects it to be for this price, needs to get real. The food here is good for the price it's fresh and well laid out. There is a great variety of types of food that is served. There is Mexican food there is Italian food and there is just regular American food. And while others have said, otherwise, I visited the restroom and found it acceptable. So for those who want to fill up on fairly good food like you would have at home this is the place. If you want high-end cuisine, you'll have to go looking somewhere else.

The servers were attentive and super kind, always checking in on us and I even noticed how other servers were making conversation with customers, making them welcome. The food I got was good, however not everything was a bit as some items like my chicken and steak weren't fully cooked in spots, and did not have much in terms of flavor. However, considering a buffet constantly makes food in bulk for everyone, it would be foolish to expect everything to be perfect. For a big group or family, this is perfect but if I think with how small my family is, we would probably just go to another restaurant. Prices are fair so I would recommend you try it out if you are looking for buffet style in the area!

The dining room…read morestays full, the trays move quickly, and the food comes out hot instead of drifting into that tired, lukewarm zone that ruins most buffets. The space itself is well kept and clean, which matters more than people admit. A buffet lives or dies on maintenance, and Nippon shows real discipline in how it's run. It is not perfect, but it gives you real value for the price, and that alone sets it apart in a landscape where many buffets have declined or disappeared. The strength of Nippon is its seafood. They offer baby clams, crayfish, mussels, fish dishes, and soups that are light enough to enjoy without burning out early. These dishes give the buffet a sense of generosity that many places have lost. The sushi is what you expect from a buffet, not a handcrafted experience, but it is fresh enough and replaced often. The hibachi station adds another layer of variety, and the constant movement of the crowd keeps the food cycling at a steady pace. The imperfections are predictable. Some dishes are filler. The room can get chaotic at peak times. A tray might sit empty for a moment before the next batch arrives. None of this is surprising, and none of it ruins the experience. It is simply the nature of a busy buffet that is trying to keep up with demand. There is one piece of advice that makes the difference between a short meal and a long, satisfying one. The worst way to approach a buffet is to load your first plate with dense, heavy foods. You fill up fast and the meal ends before it begins. Nippon rewards a smarter approach. Start with the low volume seafood. Begin with clams, fish, salads, soups, and crayfish. These dishes let you warm up without tapping out early. You can enjoy more of the spread and actually experience the variety that makes the place worth visiting. The truth is simple. Nippon is not trying to be refined. It is a big, lively, well maintained seafood buffet that gives you heat, turnover, and enough range to make the price feel fair. If you approach it with a little strategy, you can feast for a long time and walk out satisfied. I actually love this place.

Not here! Springfield has a lot of Violence and drug activity and I am surprised that MGM built a casino there. They should have kept their brand at Foxwoods. Inside the casino the layout is pretty tight, slot machines are very close together. We didn't try any restaurants because we had just come from dinner. We didn't stay long - didn't like the vibe. Most likey won't go back. Seriously - sketchy. Other reviewers are right.
