It's been almost 2 years since we were last here. It's no longer chaotic, and actually very enjoyable to eat here! They now leave a personal ordering pad to place your orders, ask for refills, and call your server over. Now you don't have to feel like you're being rushed, and can order on your time, and relax with your company. Just be careful not to accidentally toggle out of English. Unless you can read Chinese!

Broth tom go gai- did not like it at all and we eat this soup regularly at other restaurants

We were really looking forward to this place but were highly disappointed. The first thing was the staff , they are in your face the ENTIRE time , just staring . Meats were tough no matter what we did . You can only pick one broth at a time but they gone so much you can't finish . The restaurant itself nice with ample seating .

Walking into the Hungry Pot felt like I'm walking into a nightclub. They had loud music blasting and lights flashing. It looked very modern and promising. Hungry Pot is a Korean BBQ. Depending on when you go, the cost will vary. It was $32.99 per person when we went on Sunday night. For an additional $5 per person you can have access to their hot pot soups. Since it was our first time here, our waitress showed us how to order. They have a buffet with sauces, crab legs, some salads and fruit. Each table receives an iPad for ordering, you can select your category then order. The food was delivered to us quickly, then pretty soon after we felt like we ordered a bit too much. They have a large assortment of meats and seafood. I especially enjoyed the octopus and the oysters. The quality of all meats isn't up to the same level. There's no way you will leave hungry. I would love to try their soups sometime.

After leaving CT and living in the Bay Area for 3.5 years, I was pleasantly surprised to come back and see much more AYCE Korean BBQ and hotpot options now available in the central CT area! I came to Hungry Pot after a few friends of mine had raved about the good deal - it did not disappoint! For only $32.99, you can choose between AYCE Korean BBQ OR Hotpot - and for only $5 more, you can have both! Both options include full access to the snack/sauce/app bar which includes massive snow crab legs and crawfish for dinner which easily lets you get bang for your buck. I ended up going with both the BBQ and hotpot and found that overall meat quality was fresh. Service was quick and I left FULL. I will be back the next time I'm in CT!

We were seated quickly on a Saturday during typical lunch hours. I can't believe how quick the service was. Once you order from the tablet, even multiple times the food is at your table before you have time to finish mixing your sauces at the sauce bar. So much selection!!!And everything was fresh. My daughter and I enjoyed the hotpot and bbq option. My personal favorites were the pig cheek and short ribs. Looking at what we ordered I thought there's no way we could finish, but we did and ended up ordering two more times. Next time I will opt for barbecue only. I tried two different broths and they were great ( tom yum was a bit spicy for me). And the pork broth was mild. I just loved sizzling everything up on the grill and dipping in various sauces. The staff were great and joked with us. I highly recommend.

$40 pre tip for both all you can eat KBBQ and hot pot dinner menu is decent (pretty good deals offered during lunch too). This included broths, sauces, snow crab legs, crawfish. Menu is on the website and there is a very good variety. Items came out immediately after you placed an order on the iPad. After 2 large rounds of orders, the waitress came back and asked "is that it?", surprised that we were already done Favorites: Marinated short ribs, shrimp, and spicy pork belly.

Although Hungry Pot is both a Korean BBQ and Hot Pot restaurant, I visited for lunch BBQ. I've had Korean BBQ a few times at a few different places, which certainly is not enough times to make me an authority. With that said, I found my food experience at Hungry Pot to be generally enjoyable but somewhat mixed in terms of quality. With an all you can eat lunch deal of around $20 per person, Hungry Pot isn't priced to be a high end Korean BBQ experience, but the BBQ part of the lunch was pretty good. For lunch, you can select from meats and fish like beef, chicken, salmon, squid and pork and vegetables like mushrooms, corn and zucchini. The meats may be sliced very thin for Bulgogi style or a bit thicker like pork belly. They may be marinated, seasoned or more plain. You grill the meats and veggies on a heated metal surface in the middle of your table. The outside of the circular grill surface has some vents which seems to allow for the equivalent of faster and hotter direct grilling. The middle does not have the vents and seems to be for more slower indirect heat grilling. I like to cook, so I found the process of cooking Bulgogi style chicken and beef and pork belly fun. There is a sauce station where you can mix your own sauce from various ingredients or choose some pre-made sauces. I like to mix sauces at home and I'm used to working with Asian sauces and condiments. So again, I enjoyed this. The same area has a buffet where you can select things like daikon radish, seaweed salad, popcorn chicken, squid, Spring Roll and kimchi. The versions of these things were at best average and weren't really a selling points for me like they are in some Korean or other restaurants. The meats and seafood seemed like decent, but not exceptional quality. The pork belly was my favorite followed by the beef Bulgogi. The squid, which was in larger sections than say something like calamari and was tough to chew. The chicken was OK. The sauces definitely help improve the experience. I was surprised at how busy and lively the restaurant was for a Friday lunch. There were many tables and about 80% were taken. Service was pretty good, but they're a new enough restaurant that they're still working out some things. The place had a fun vibe. I recommend Hungry Pot for the experience and the food is overall pretty good too. I suspect people who are very experienced with Korean BBQ would find the food quality about average. Less experienced people like me are probably more likely to focus on a cool experience that is not found in abundance in the area. 3.5 Stars

So different from any other restaurant I've ever been to! Fresh delicious ingredients and they will bring you as much as you want! We did the hot pot (everyone at the table must pick the same - either hot pot, bbq, or you can do both for an up charge). We had everything from broccoli to sirloin to shrimp to gyoza that we cooked in our individual broths that you could spice as you wanted. Then there was the "salad bar" - full of spices and sauces and then fresh fruits and CRAB LEGS! They were so tasty! It was such a fun night, with families all around us celebrating birthdays! Saw a few couples on dates as well. Delicious, clean, professionally staffed and while $32 sounds expensive (to me) for dinner, it was well worth it!

For our appetizers, we are having the cucumber salad and vegetable dumplings. Like most hot pot places, they have a sauce bar and niece a new mini bar with fruit, salad and friend items. Complementary ice water is immediately served. The cucumbers are crunchy and delicious! I actually liked the vegetarian dumplings! Well, with a little soy sauce, of course! For my first drink, I'm having their world famous (well, I love it) Stateside Lychee Martini. We use Grey Goose. They make it with Bella Spritz Elderflower Liqueur and fresh lychees. This is filled to the rim! I love the fresh lychees! This is good! For my soup bases, I'm having the Chengdu Hot & Spicy soup made with bay leaves, fennel, Szechuan peppers, chili peppers, star aniseed, scallion and ginger. I'm also having the ChongQing Butter Pot. This is going to be a hot and spicy meal. They do have plenty of vegetarian options. The sushi was good btw. For my next drink, I'm having a French Martinj made with Tito's Handmade Vodka (Goose for us), Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice. This is cutely garnished and tastes great! For dessert, I am having the Coppa Pistacio which is custard gelato swirled with chocolate and pistachio gelato topped with praline pistachios. This is ice cold and yummy! For my last drink, I'm having Mango Martini made with Absolut Vodka (Grey Goose for us), Cointreau, mango syrup, and a splash of pineapple and cranberry juice. Once again, it is nicely garnished and tastes the best! What a great time here!

The menu is online, viewable by scanning the QR code in your booth, and at the end then you pay at the cashier not through the website. We each ordered the mini hotpot with two broths and got a table full of meats and veggies and even ordered a second round of meat (in hindsight, that was too much and we weren't able to finish it all). The sauce bar was fully stocked, and the ingredients were fresh. The bowls and spoons were a bit hard to find though and I had to ask for a staff member for help. The fruit bar was a bit empty, but there was enough for a dessert. The wait staff was very friendly, though they kept forgetting to refill our water, and we kept asking them about it. Overall, a great experience!

Sapporo Premium Beer is Japan's oldest beer brand, founded in Hokkaido in 1876 by brewer Seibei Nakagawa. Known for a crisp, refined taste with a clean, dry finish, it is a pilsner-style lager (roughly 4.7-5.2% ABV) frequently packaged in iconic silver cans. It pairs well with Japanese food and is known for its high-quality ingredients and brewing standards. It was founded in 1876 during Japan's Meiji-era modernization in Hokkaido, it is the nation's first and oldest beer. The world headquarters of Sapporo Breweries is in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo, and it also operates a renowned museum in Sapporo. As for taste, it's a golden-colored, light-to-medium-bodied lager with mild bitterness, a subtle sweet malt aroma, and a sharp finish.. While technically a Japanese beer, many cans sold in the U.S. are brewed in places like Escondido, California, and Richmond, Virginia, Key products include Sapporo Premium Lager, Sapporo Black, and Yebisu. This is THE beer to have with this cuisine (Chengdu or Szechuan). This is good! It's ice cold too! For our appetizers, we are having the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings and Spicy Flavored Jelly Noodles which are dressed in scallions, ginger, garlic, celery and cilantro. These are good! They come with soy sauce. The noodles are made from mong beans. Mung beans (Vigna radiata) are small, green legumes native to India, widely cultivated in Asia, and known as green gram or moong bean. They are a highly nutritious, versatile ingredient, rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, used in both savory dishes (soups, curries, noodles) and sweet desserts, often sprouted for increased nutritional value. Mung beans are easy to cook, require little to no presoaking, and offer health benefits like antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. I am also having the Seafood Hot and Sour Soup (small size). This seafood soup is good! Not too spicy! It's similar to the standard Chinese hot and sour soup in taste. For my entree, i'm having the Sliced Chicken with Crunchy Rice. This is made with chicken slices, crunchy rice, black fungus, ginger, scallions, garlic, pickled chili peppers, lettuce and pea sprouts. They fold the crispy rice and put it on top. This is piping hot! Spicy too! For dessert, we are having a Chocolate Truffle (made with Zabione cream center surrounded by chocolate gelato and caramelized hazelnuts topped with cocoa powder), Cappuccino Truffle (made with cappuccino gelato with a heart of espresso covered with coffee flavored merinique sprinkles) and Capps Pistachio (custard gelato swirled with chocolate and pistachio gelato ago topped with praline pistachios). Zabaione (or zabaglione) is a classic Italian dessert made from whipped egg yolks, sugar, and sweet wine (traditionally Marsala) cooked gently over a double boiler until light, foamy, and custard-like. It can be served warm as a sauce over fruit or cookies, or chilled as a standalone dessert, often garnished with berries or biscotti. The name comes from the Venetian word for "whipped," reflecting its airy texture. These are absolutely great!

Sidewalks were torn up but the place is hard to find with lack of signage. We were able to get seated right away, and looked through their digital menu. We got a smattering of dishes, wontons and dumplings, a sandwich and a ramen. Food came out in a reasonable wait time. We took pics and dug in. The 7 flavor dumpling was the star of the show. Light and thin dumpling wrapper, savory sweet sauce, plenty of filling. The pork dumplings were good, but the wrapper was thicker and denser. The twice cooked pork sandwich was pretty tasty, the pork needed to be more present compared to the veggies, but appreciated the crisp of the bread. The ramen had a good amount of braised beef and noodles. The broth needed a little doctoring to coax out some of the more savory notes. Broth needed more aggressive seasoning though. The price was not too bad for the area. It's kind of like dim sum, where you get a small plate for the price but it's all shareable and the flavors are good. It's not very well lit, gave the place a very dark air about it. But as a restaurant, it's pretty good. First off, the ambience of the place is fairly nice though you would not know it from how many of the other patrons choose to attire themselves. If you're looking for a upscale, dining experience, other patrons would suggest this is not the place for you. They started off by attending to put us at the wrong table per our reservation. The table was apparently filled, and they moved us to a different table, which was perfectly fine as it was a nice booth with a window right next to the table. They then gave us several menus from which to choose, which was confusing as there were so many different menus with similar food options, including brunch, menu, a burger, menu, a dinner menu, a Mother's Day, special menu, and the regular menu. There were also two separate drink menus. We started by ordering some drinks and an appetizer of the meat and cheeseboard for the table. We put in our full order at just before 12:59 PM and the meat and cheeseboard came out fairly quick. Overall, it was the best part of our time at the restaurant. With regards to our main meal, we had ordered an eggs, Benedict, a children's pancake and bacon, special, and a steak and eggs meal. That was apparently a mistake as it took them over one hour six minutes before the food hit the table and when it did, it was a mess. The medium rare steak was cooked to a well done with the eggs being extremely messy and not very runny for over easy. The potatoes were dark and charred in places, but we're not crispy by any stretch of the imagination. The Canadian bacon had not been rendered well on the eggs Benedict and one of the two poached eggs clearly had not been poached appropriately. Also, my daughter indicated that the syrup was way too sweet, which was especially surprising as she is someone with a sweet tooth. The pancakes themselves were extremely dense and unfair and served on a plastic tray missing one of the size that was supposed to come with the order. It is clear that the kitchen does not know what they are doing as I was the second person in a row to have issues with the cook temperature on my steak, a problem that appears to carry over to other aspects of the meal as well. At the one hour mark, I've been so frustrated. I had requested to speak with a manager and he was actually the one who brought out the food to our table. There was a good four minute gap between two of the meals being brought out and the third meal, which is what my wife had ordered for her Mother's Day brunch. By the time the eggs Benedict came out, I showed the manager my stake and eggs, and he agreed that it was cooked to a well done rather than the medium rare I had ordered. I had overheard the exact same issue on the next table over where the older woman had not gotten her meal until nearly all seven others at the table had completed their food. At that point, I sent back my steak and indicated I did not want it to be remade as I was done with the place. Shirley, thereafter, I was clear the rest of the family was of the same mind as the meals were a mess and cooked improperly. The manager eventually came over and indicated that he is going to take care of the entire CHUCK which makes sense sense more than 75% of the food ordered had been uneaten or inedible. The service was no better as waiters and waitresses would walk by and failed to refill empty water glasses, even though they would look right at the empty water glass and would have pictures of water in their hand at times. One waitress went to five separate tables around us, including table she was not serving and failed to fill our water, but filled water at other tables. Our waiter was also missing an action for a good portion of the meal. Despite having the meal taken care of, I did leave a small tip for the waiter, though nowhere near what I would have had the service been even somewhat competent. This is a major disappointment as the last experience I had at this restaurant for dinner had been so positive it convinced me to book the place for Mother's Day brunch. I'm not sure if this was a one off situation but I would never recommend a return to this place based on the experience I had this day. What's worse, our reservation appeared to fall between two rushes as we were the second table in the rush that showed up about 10 to 15 minutes after our arrival at the place. As such, our food should've been fairly quick and coming out but others who ordered their food more than 20 minutes after our table received it with no problem. I have to say that the Taco Bell we had as result of this poor food service was Myles and Myles better than the food experience at the restaurant itself.

My friend and I were out shopping and wanted to grab lunch. She was craving a sandwich so we headed to Cotton Hollow. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and seated in the bar area at a high top. We couldn't decide between inside and outside so when we were seated at a window table over looking the patio, we had the best of both worlds. Both the dining room and bar are lovely. There are tons of GF options, but I always go for the choices I normally can't have elsewhere. They have a dedicated GF fryer so I opted for the fried fish and sweet potato fries. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. The fish was tasty and crisp, but a little dry on the thinner piece. The coleslaw was an Asian style slaw, which was not my thing. It was a bit odd for me. My friend opted for a chicken wrap and it was insanely large and she said it was delicious. The photo is only 1/2 of the sandwich which she took home. I had the red sangria. It was drinkable but had a bit of a sour taste and no fruit. My friend had the Hugo Spritz, which was perfect and refreshing. I have been here a few times and they are consistent and have a wide menu. It's on my list of regulars. Hint, if you go to Sayulita and can't get in, this place is right across the street and a good choice.
